Well, to be fair Melon, the building Goku blew up with the Kamehamaha was the Lexcorp building, so of course it had Kryptonite on the debris

Vegeta's line about the hedgehog was about him being in a Death Battle against Shadow the Hedgehog. He's also fought Thor more recently in Death Battle, where it was up to date enough to include Ultra Ego Vegeta.
Which still sounds like base form Vegeta... "Ultra Ego- wait, his ego gets worse?!?"

Dragonfist is Goku's one and only original technique.
Dragon fist is exclusive to movies,games and GT therefore aren't canon. Also the move Goku used against Evil King Piccalo wasn't dragon fist.
@@Citizen_Nappa23 All true. I do like to think of the attack he beat King Piccolo with as the proto-dragon fist. Similar to how the attack Vegeta used on Recoome was the proto-final flash.
@@FoxDemonMaster so while Goku has yet to actually create a move of his own. He copies techniques and makes his own personal alternative uses of techniques. Still it's woefully embarrassing to see a protagonist steal moves instead of creating his own. Even yamcha has created more moves than Goku(pretty sure it's 3 with him)

@@TbA500Nif anything it is embarrassing because it’s an anime, and they could’ve easily written in his own original move. But you’re right, in most martial arts, people use the moves they learned and perfected, not necessarily ones they made up themselves. And if not for goku, most millennials wouldn’t have posed with their hands out trying to shoot lasers. Might not be his move, but he’s the one that made it popular
Remember, in Deathbattles the end results are calculated first. The animation is just for fun. In later episodes they list the rules. They admit that there are situations where either side could win, but the results are the one that would win more often than not.

This Death Battle was very controversial, but I think their final point still holds true and is kind of why I'm good with the debate going this way.

Did you forget Goku can use telekinesis? After his battle with Vegeta, Goku was using his mind to move a glass of water. Cell moved a hill and even transformed it into blocks for his arena, with some minor imperfections.

Highly recommend watching [What-If Movie] Super Goku vs. GT Goku. It specifies both versions of Goku by the specific points in time before their fight, goes into what is and isn't cannon in their respective series, and even touches on some fan theories. Not to mention that the fight is just plain epic.
The Kryptonite that was there was when Superman crashed into the building for LexCorp, owned by Lex Luthor, a “philanthropist” and sociopath who is always trying to defeat and kill Superman. Basically his arch-enemy.
Common consensus is that while the explanation is crap, the verdict is correct. So… a typical Death Battle Season 1 episode.

Superman is on a whole other level compared to Goku.
Superman has just done the most insane things in comparison. Feats all of Dragon Ball hasn't even touched upon yet.
So I don't understand why they are compared so often because Goku hasn't done a fraction of the insane things Superman has yet people that seemingly know nothing of Superman talk about them so damn often.
It is so unbelievably different writing levels too. Akira Toriama is a child at heart and certainly doesn't try to make Dragon ball into anything similar to what DC has done for almost 70 years.

7:44 through 7:50 I think you forgot the fact that when two fictional characters fight each other to the death in the UA-cam channel death battle the UA-cam channel death battle takes these two characters at their best even if it includes stuff that is non-canon to that fictional characters show's main series, So the next time you watch a death battle that includes stuff that is non-canon to that fictional characters main series just remember death battle is taking the fictional characters at their best. 😅😅😂😂😂😂

At the time when they made this video, GT wasn't non canon. It was considered canon until super started out. So they used GT stuff in this.
Goku returned the power pole between Dragonball and Z. It is what is between The Lookout and Korin's Tower

Itsjustsomerandomguy was a very big UA-cam or when this came out. It doesn’t look like he uploads anymore which is a shame because he was really good.
when it comes to goku and superman and the difference between, its pretty simple: goku is not the hero that superman is and he knows that. goku is just a guy while superman is a symbol. an ideal that inspire many others to be heroes.
but more over, its all about how they view death. for goku and his friends, death is a hinderance. it's not perminate so it really doesn't matter if they or other people die. they have a fix-all button with the dragonballs. with superman, while it's true heroes and villains come back all the time, not everyone gets that chance. case in point: lian harper, the daughter of former teen titan speedy. she was killed when a villain named Prometheus detenated a bomb that blew up his home town and his 6 year old daughter was among the victims. and she's never been back.
The thing about this is the math is wrong, BUT... even with correct math, the result's are the same

Additionally you db fan only complains of superman various version but to not complain to character such as barman various versions, green lantern, the justice various versions and etc since you only focus on suoerman since he beat your precious goku. They made a part 2 of Goku vs Superman
So the sequel does take place with newer information, but it's still pre-Tournament of Power, so Goku doesn't have Ultra Instinct there. They go up to Super Saiyan Blue for the rematch.
The big draw of Death Battle isn't necessarily the fights, although some can be good and they have improved over time, but it's the research and information segments that are more valuable overall. Sometimes they get things right, sometimes they get things wrong, and sometimes they just go stupid. It's pretty entertaining overall though, if only for the information coverage. You could probably do a reaction series on them, but they've covered a lot of franchises and a lot of ground over the years. Some other DBZ fights include (if I'm remembering correctly, and I'm not mixing them up with their One Minute Melee or similar segments) Kirby vs Buu, Vegeta vs Shadow the Hedgehog, Vegeta vs Thor (from Marvel), Vegeta vs Zod (Zod being akin to Superman's Vegeta, in a way), 18 vs Captain Marvel, Roshi vs Jiraiya, and Hercule vs Dan (I can't remember where exactly Dan was from, but he's a joke fighter in Street Fighter, or something)

@@Cratossama There's a reason that they banned Superman after the rematch. His character isn't about strength, it's about humanity. He's literally designed to not lose unless the narrative demands it, because he's meant to be so strong that strength loses its impact with him.
As they said, Goku's story is about Goku being the strongest he can be. Superman's story is about a go'd's humanity, and him trying to fit in amongst men. Those are two completely different character and story archetypes.
Narratively speaking, Superman is far closer to Saitama than he ever was to Goku. Goku will always be the weakest of the three because by definition, those two are working down hill from an infinite summit, while Goku is working uphill towards that infinite summit. You can never achieve infinity from zero, and you can never achieve zero from infinity.
@@johns6014 which is BS if Batman a non ki energy using human with no powers, No Kryptonite and no technology can inflict damage on Superman that means he can’t beat Goku because Batman can’t inflict damage on Goku. In the beginning of DBZ Goku was the strongest on earth with a power level around 400 the average human in the Dragonball verse has a power level around 5 so even if Batman had a power level of 50 (10 times stronger) high balling it and the only reason his power level is so low is because he took damage from other humans. He shouldn’t be able to inflict any damage on Superman but he still does Raditz had a power level of 1200 and blew up a mountain u ppl wanna use DC rules but not Dragonball rules and to scale it properly you need both. Death battle just like other ppl use fan fiction BS to justify them even doing battle in the 1st place because ppl wanna see the 2 top characters of fiction fight but in reality DBZ characters are too strong to compete with DC characters or Marvel ones for that matter unless non energy no power humans attacks have no effect on them.
GT Goku would solo all of Z in his base form, at this point in time death battle refused to power scale. They massively downplay GT Goku as well as composite Goku before super.
Oh man. I was 13 when this came out, just getting into the dbz community on UA-cam and oh boy... (Vietnam flashbacks(O_O) )
I find this battle frustrating, because there's no way for the battle to make sense. Both Goku and Superman are too good-hearted to attack someone who isn't evil, and even if we hold that Goku is extra dumb, Superman isn't. And even if Goku loves fighting to a fault, he's not about to endanger the earth in a fight (and even if he's willing to do that, Superman isn't).
Sheer power level wise, though, Superman's power far exceeds anything Goku could do. But it's not even relevant because there still needs to be a good way to justify the two of them fighting.

Since you mentioned you have actually seen the Goku black arch before, the first one that came to mind would be Goku Black vs Reverse flash and I know you’d like Jiraya vs Roshi. Idk just thought I’d throw that out there
Goku was taught most of his moveset. Solar flare, kamehameha and the flying technique were all stolen learned by watching and doing.

Thing is about dragonball, everything is canon and nothing is. So all the 'non canon' movies happened. You have to think about it as an alternative timeline.
All of this stuff was Canon when it was made.
You should react to the second video as well, all tho the Death Battle team can be bias at times (Madara vs Aizen) it's still entertaining to watch.
They're never biased though, they determine winners based on Math, Science, Feats, ect. That one's no exception.

Only thing I dislike about this video is there were parts where some of their calculations weren't fully done (or at least the editing in the text was messed up) but at whatever. Death Battle is... something. I feel like it started like some goofy fun idea, but it turned too serious in terms of sticking to what they wanted to happen. They'll happen to also mix and match the stuff that suits them, like either in this or the next, they just combine different versions of Superman to give him the powers they want. It's also supposed to be the "no morality, just rage", but Goku here still gets rid of Kryptonite because "Goku wants a goo fight". And then there's their actual numbers which people have made whole videos explaining how it's all wrong.
The official rules of Death Battle
1. Combatants possess no prior knowledge of each other unless specified by canon or otherwise.
2. To ensure a fair fight, all moral restraints from killing are ignored. All other traits are considered.
3. A character's maximum potential is examined unless otherwise specified. Factors unrelated to the characters cannot end the battle.
4. All official material related to a character is applied unless found contradictory to original source material.
Rule #2 says only morality regarded to killing is ignored. According to their rules, Goku absolutely would destroy kryptonite for a fair fight
And sometimes they even f up on their own calculations.

The videos are great but If I remember correctly, SethTheProgrammer made a video about this DeathBattle where he showed that they intentionally miscalculated Goku's stats to make Superman win. I believe it showed that if they had calculated Goku's stats properly he would've been far stronger or something like that. You might want to check out that video too.
No, it was just a typo. A mistake that the Creators admitted to soon after the Episode release. Besides Seth is a creep and should not be given anymore attention.

@@Animelon Yeah, this was pretty much the biggest controversy of Death Battle for awhile. Hell, I WAS THERE when this was released. The Comments section was flooded with Goku Fanboys saying he wins, ignoring a number of information they were told in the Video. It even had a lot of Dislikes because of these Goku Fanboys. There were even people who thought that Death Battle hates Goku and even Anime when they clearly don't. The Creators outright stated they hate Superman if anything and much prefer Goku, but they set aside their biases and look at the logistics of each combatant and determine who would win.
When I watched this, I wanted Goku to win because I knew him more, but after thinking of the information given a bit later, I admitted that they're right. Don't get me wrong, the number of Death Battles I disagree with I can count on 1 Hand, but at the end of the Day, it's about the stats and calculations and we shouldn't take this sort of stuff seriously. Can't wait for more of this.
They did butcher Goku's scaling in this one, but I do agree with the outcome. There are plenty of power scalers who have made videos about it agreeing as well. It's just the scaling was way off in this old video. Death battle did get better after a while and their battles are getting way cooler too!

This Deathbattle video is so wrong it’s laughable. Not saying that Goku solos any and all versions of Superman (there’s a lot of em) but the way they calculated their power, strength, and speed are just outright wrong. The Superman feats are cherry picked from multiple versions of the character to create the strongest version to put against Goku whereas Goku’s top speed is calculated using Snake way… from the first season of DBZ… There “Superman is limitless” argument is flat out wrong, seeing as the dude has been outclassed many times. Instead of using the best feasts from Superboy Prime, All-star superman, Silver age superman, and pre-crisis Superman; they should’ve picked one (preferably the most current) and used only their feats, fairly and with low end feats sprinkled in for so we know his limits (Superman definitely has those).

There's no real point to watch them in chronological order because they're all stand alone episodes. She should only watch the episodes that interest her.
@@Celestia282 Not all of them are stand alone. Some of them have a bit of continuity. Like the Episodes with Deadpool or Boomstick's Dad Jokes. So yeah, watching in chronological order is pretty helpful. Plus Death Battle goes by Seasons and not just post Videos out of nowhere.
