I don't have a magic mug, but I recycle the clear, clamshell boxes that fruits and veggies come in. I can see my colored scraps and get inspired! And it keeps some plastic out of the landfill.
Hi Laurel, LOVE the bulk stamping of sentiments, fabulous idea. Also, like how you don’t “waffle on”, flash your nails, rings etc, like some people do, love how you get straight to it, and the videos are so useful. I am wringing this while in lockdown, in Dee Why Beach, Sydney, Australia. Stay Safe.
Great video. I do some of these especially twofers. When I make cards, I score the full sheet then cut. That way I only need to score one piece of card stock. Saves on handling. Stay safe.
I do this sort of thing when I'm feeling creatively dry, but still want to paper craft. It helps me feel creative, without the pressure of producing a finished project.
kmcorby that’s funny because I do the same exact thing. I don’t want to feel pressured into being creative so I will prep for the time when my creative juices are flowing
@@kiminalaska9363 ditto here - some days I just want to relax and be in my craft room.. not making full cards but prepping for them... thank you for the awesome video
A great way of using up your 12x12 papers is by using the slimline card or envelope dies, which is brilliant... especially since I hoard that paper! 😳🤣
So glad I found your channel! I love the short cuts. I also really appreciate that you talk about the ideas right away and get busy! Great dialogue, too.
Absolutely fantastic ideas to get ahead a little bit for the different seasons. Now there’s an idea. Make a stash of each of the four seasons. I make a lot of Sympathy cards so I try and get a stash of those built up. (I also give them to my daughters to send out ) You have so many amazing ideas coming out of that brain of yours! Love it!!! Also I too use a lot of black and white cards. I love black and white. I even dress in a lot of black and white...so classic. Great ideas!!!
I've done the bulk card base creating trick for a long time now. It's a good activity when I'm too depressed to craft, but I'm not so depressed that all I can bring myself to do is sort junk mail. Yes, sorting junk mail (into trash, recycling, & shred piles) is a thing for me! LOL Love these tips--you picked some great ones. Hope y'all are doing well and staying sane in this crazy time. Take care, & have a fantastic day! :)
If you score your cardstock first, then cut in half, you will save time. Love that sentiment die, genius. Your alcohol ink backgrounds are really nice.
I do several of these. My simple strips go into a little square plastic container. I have another container for larger sentiments. I have several steel rule dies that I love putting sentiments on. I NEVER thought of stamping on the rest of the paper when I am doing simple strips. Thank you! You watercolor cards are beautiful! Mass production is fun! Thank you for inspiring me. I need to do 20 or so "postcard style" uplifting pieces for a friend.
Nice to see you again. I use all of these tricks and I love the "Magic Cup" of sentiments/Dies. :-) Unfortunately - I have a few magic cups around my craft room.
I love your videos. so many great ideas. I do love to mass produce ie cutting up a bunch of cardstocks at once, then fold a bunch at once, then card fronts cut and ready, then bling ready to go. You helped with ideas for that. so if I suddenly need a card or two unexpectedly I can make them in just a minute or two. Thanks for the ideas. I have a box with every month divided. behind it i have cards with each persons date, name, address, occasion, etc. ready to go. When I make my cards (of which I have a box of extras for all occasions to chose from) I drop them behind each name for every month. I usually have the whole year filled and still a years worth of cards waiting to get used.
Easy Peasy Lemon Sweezy I think it what you were thinking hehe. Love your tips. I'm always learning something new watching vids like this even after 15 yrs of crafting
You are such a "HOOT" to watch and listen to...and a talented artist as well. I love that kind of 'fly by your pants' attitude where if things don't always go as planned, it's ok and no worries. Happy to have found your channel and subscribed to. Can't wait to see all those videos. Keep up the good work!! and take care.
Thx 4 these great tip, i guess i use most of them already, but always good to watch again, i never know what else i can learn. And.. I must say: Beautiful watercolor backgrounds👍
Love your tips. I have done alittle of all, I have plastic containers that is divided into a bunch of spaces. I have die cut a bunch of things and everything in a place. If I put die cuts into a magic cup, I'd have to do magic to put them together cause I'd rip them. Thanks for sharing. I'm going to do some more of these tips, especially when I start doing Christmas cards. Have a great day.
I got a kick out of this. I had already done the sentiment idea and cut, scored and folded about a hundred cards so I am already when the creativity bug hits. I also embossed a bunch of backgrounds, since when I cleaned my craft drawers I found a bunch of embossing folders that had been collecting dust. I just embossed a bunch of them in white and can use them that way or add ink to them later. I am trying to use up paper pads that I have collected over the years, so these techniques are great for that. Stay safe and keep crafting.
I am so very glad I've recently subscribed to your channel. I love your videos! I'm also happy to have hit the "bell" so your new videos pop up immediately. :-) These tips are all wonderful. I do make sentiment strips ahead of time and have them in a little container. Only thing I've decided to do is that I can't keep buying all these sentiment stamps. I own a Cricut die cut machine and a Big Shot. I've started making up word "strips" in my Microsoft Word. That way, I can use ANY font I want and ANY sentiment I want. Occasionally, I'll come across a sentiment I love...on a stamp that I really am not crazy about. I'll just type up the words in that sentiment...sometimes in different fonts and sizes...and print them out on cardstock...cut them up...and voila! I have lots and lots of my very favorite sentiments. Of course...I can't print them out on black cardstock...however...if I use my Cricut...I can slip a pen (bright, white or metallic) into the slot...print them and cut them out. I print out my sentiments from Word on white cardstock and I could use any color I choose for the font. Also...if I use my Brother printer that uses toner, I can use a foil on top of the words because it adheres to the toner print. Honestly...I've come across some wonderful sentiments that I love to use: You make my heart smile...Your smile is always in style...I'm thinking of you today...Praying you feel better soon. And I love that I can make them any size or font that I choose! Just sharing my hack here. I'll be filing your video in my YT files for future reference. I actually have a "Laurel Beard" file now! Thanks for your excellent videos. I'll be playing "catch up" during this virus thingy.

:). White pigment ink works great indeed!!
I love using a closely matching pigment ink under embossing powder, it adds a little oomph.
