As a proud metal elitist who listens mainly to bands like behemoth and suffocation, kanye west is music. Its just a different type, being a type i assume neither of us like too much

Easily one of the best pieces of music ever written, absolutely amazing. Been listening to this for years and years and still as awesome as the first time I heard it.
Upon seeing the title, I wasn't sure if I would actually hear three distinct genres, but rather one big mashup that sounded and was influenced by jazz and funk but is actually just djent. But I got the complete opposite; this guy took pure jazz, funk, and djent and layered them all separately in a brilliant and well executed masterpiece!! Hat's off to you!
Really really like it but have to mention that there is the band vitalism every song of which has that cool contrast of very rhythmic, shredy and latina music on clean parts so if someone likes this I really suggest you to check out vitalism
There's a lot to like about this song, though I think the djent portions are the weakest. With the heavy distortion and the low bar chords, it just sounds muddy and you can't hear the individual notes. Other than that, a fantastic song with a lot of creativity.
David Muss Individual notes? The low bar chords are intended to be basically the root note, but fuller and heavier. The djent sections (and djent in general) are about agressive, palm muted, driving chords and rhythms, not the individual notes. It's not for everyone, but I personally loved every second of it.
@Billalone Clarity is super duper important with distorted guitars... You most DEFINITELY want to hear every note, otherwise they wouldn't be there. It's very possible to get crazy clear distorted guitar tones these days, especially with an axe fx, so why wouldn't you want your mix to be audible? Not that this mix is shitty cuz I think it's pretty good
Not really. hes self taught and his style is very unique. Not many people sound like him they are saying he is the next big thing in fusion.. but yeah im sure he has incorporated other styles I just woulnt know who because ive never heard anything like him before

Every now and then I come back to this video. This could very easily have been my first encounter with the genre. Blew me away. Still does. As someone who loves djent, jazz, and funk...this will always be a favorite. My songs are still influenced by this style off heavy music.

I didn't really think it was working (at least for a while), but I didn't dislike. It felt near the beginning kind of like he was trying to just put different things on top of each other without blending them very well. Later it just sounded mostly like fairly generic djent. I didn't dislike it in either in the youtube sense or the normal sense though. Also, djazz is already a pretty frequently and accurately used term for a lot (maybe not that much actually) of music, at least in 2018, and I didn't very much funk in this overall. (There was some.)

Every now and then I come back to this video. This could very easily have been my first encounter with the genre. Blew me away. Still does. As someone who loves djent, jazz, and funk...this will always be a favorite. My songs are still influenced by this style off heavy music.

It's an awesome trick caused by the low frame rate that cameras shoot at. They can't keep up with the vibrations, so they make an interesting wave.

I didn't really think it was working (at least for a while), but I didn't dislike. It felt near the beginning kind of like he was trying to just put different things on top of each other without blending them very well. Later it just sounded mostly like fairly generic djent. I didn't dislike it in either in the youtube sense or the normal sense though. Also, djazz is already a pretty frequently and accurately used term for a lot (maybe not that much actually) of music, at least in 2018, and I didn't very much funk in this overall. (There was some.)
And then he was never heard from again.

This song is so good and this guy is so talented that it depresses me because I know that I will never in my life be half as good at anything I ever try as this guy is playing that guitar.
you could be twice this good. you just gotta stay on the grind and keep at it no matter how slow the progress seems. I'm absolute crap compared to this guy and most guitarists that are considered halfway decent, but I can tell you that I'm twice as good as I was a year ago. Just keep up the hard work and you'll make it.

World Known practice man. That's what I thought when I first heard this and than I was like aw fuck that noise! Went and got my self an 8 string ( never played one in my life. In fact I've played mostly acoustic my whole life) and just sat down and started practicing every day for hours after work. My wife got pissed but well... music is my life. She'll get over it 😬
