Eric "I'm not hopped up on coffee."
Also Eric "you can charge it on your elbow"
Hahaha I laughed when he said that. He’s hilarious
😅 Must have been some black rifle cofee
Box of ammo: $17
Funny tactical shirt: $25
Trijicon SRO : $615
Charging the pistol by yanking on the SRO: Priceless.
Oh really I see it on sale for 499.99
Your discussion on “looking ‘past’ the dot” is quite appropriate. It’s the best way to describe my approach to shooting with a red dot. It’s almost as if it’s the “reverse” of what you think of when shooting with irons...with irons, I see my sights lined up and the target is fuzzy. With a red dot, my dot is fuzzy as I focus on the target. Maybe every one already does that, but it’s what has worked for me for ages.
I use a Leopold AR MOD 1 Firedot -G, love it.
•Red dots you look at dot, target gets fuzzy.
•Holographics you look at target cause if you look at dot, it will get fuzzy.
Great Review, Thank You Sir! I had my SRO for 3 months and I use it for comp, and duty use. Yes I’m sorry I said the bad words “duty use”, and what’s so weird about this the NEW SROs coming out from the factory is that I think they beefed up the casing just a bit.
I accidentally drop mine not once but twice and it sucked but it did not break, go figure. Maybe I got lucky? If you look at this SRO in this video and the new ones you will see the difference.
The force on the RMR is linear through a rigid straight piece; it would have to hit hard enough to crumple. The "reverse arch" is also a thicker triangle that spreads the impact across the entire frame; if the entire frame flexes, the entire piece of glass shares the burden. The SRO can get dented anywhere; metal bends and glass underneath breaks.
@Dillon Jackson good
I have that same gun but with the Leupold Deltapoint and the Apex flat faced trigger. It was my first handgun..love it.
I'm at 3:49 and I get the impression that you're trying to convince yourself that it's good.
It's called failing at a plug
The rmr also has pockets in the corners that keep the aluminum off the glass. Im guessing it has something to do with shock transfer to the corners if dropped or water drainage
Caught this one after being uploaded for 34 seconds, gotta stay on target when it comes to sights
Always enjoy your videos! 👍✌
Thanks Eric....three cups of coffee? Jittery. LOVE IT BRO.
Lol 3 cups of coffee and Trijicon sights with some bacon and Lead best morning ever
For hopped up on coffee, you still hold steady on the target. Nice shooting.
At 1:37 made up my mind for my choice of rms. Rmr. Thank you for the Good review
I love those sights o seen the same 1 or something similar by taran butler. Very unique
Thank you
Me: *Sees New IV8888 Video* YES!!
*Hits like button before the video even loads*
As always. Love the content and keep it coming. Can't wait for my IV8888 and MAC shirts to come in the mail. Gotta show the people on my base the gospel.
That's some darn fine shooting, brother.
Very impressive presentation 👍
Will the screws from the SRO fit into RMR
You are 100% correct sir.
So when using a red dot sight, do you aim with both eyes open?
I would love to see a taller RMR.
While I am not the biggest fan of the "not duty" I think it was the smart move given that aimpoint acro is probably going to dominate any kind of "duty" market. There seems to be a slew of competition pistols now so this optic will probably do well
Yeah, the Aimpoint Acro has an enclosed emitter, and even if the outer glass breaks it still works.
Do you see point of aim shift with one eye closed vs both eyes open?
I love that pistol. I have the 4.25 inch version.
I want to mount this piggybacked on a Scopes forward ring cap/mount being so far forward would the greater FOV be more beneficial than an RMR. Idk if there would even be a difference.
Eric: Releases slide with SRO
Slide Release: Am I a joke to you?
Some of the “internet experts” would say you are stupid anyway for calling it a slide release, they would tell you it’s a slide stop. If that’s the case though how come a lot of modern pistols have ambidextrous slide release? And it usually only catches on one side.
@@appalachiangunman9589 Man I just made a meme about Eric yanking off his SRO instead of using the mechanism made for releasing the slide. I don't know what your on about.
ConcealCarryProtect My gf loves saying that to me every month.
@@Spazzycat14 booooo 👎👇
Please do more product reviews like scopes, sights, mags and firearm furniture. I don't care if it's shilling, I want to be informed.
I’m curious as to whether the SRO interferes with ejection all at.
Another great review. Are you left eye dominant? Both of my daughters are. I think the RMR I just got will help them shoot with both eyes open.
MRE video, Eric says hes not much of a coffee drinker. This video "had 3 cups of coffee" lol
I’m 3-5” at 7yrds all day after a couple coffees. I’m 1”-3” without. (Different guns, sights and triggers make up the variances.)
I have the first rmr. It is as useful as ticks. I may get the sro or the rms.
I always thought the RMR was for combat, an this one, is more for the competition minded individuals.
love the rmr. just hate how you have to take it off to change the battery
Dude . . . trust me . . . it's the COFFEE . . . 😂
*_Trijicon states the SRO is NOT for duty use._* (is it for duty use? LOL)
I contacted trijicon and they said it was for duty use
just put an SRO on my Glock 40! I got the 2.5 dot and it is perfect for me!
What holsters does it fit it?
geez, he's on a lotta coffee
I'm thinking of this sight for my Benelli M4.
Is the SRO as good as the RMR under night vision? TIA
What is the Trijicon warranty?
Owning multiple RMRs on my pistols, I don't see me ever trying one of these..I consider it a downgrade especially durability. The only thing I like is the top loading battery
I just purchased an RMR and yeah I agree with you, was looking at both and chose the RMR i bet it’s nice but it does seem like a downgrade.. especially a 500+ optic that seems like it could break easily “from what people have reported”
Yeah...good idea. You'll want one. Best to not even go there. Lol
Its not necessarily a downgrade, its really meant for competition. Different use, different design. For competition A larger field of view is more important than being ultra robust drop proof, the larger size also isnt an issue. For duty/carry use trading field of view for robustness (and a more compact size) is a necessary compromise
More than that. Bigger window, better coating & easier to pick up the dot. Good for everything short of combat type stuff. All most people will ever need.
@@ryanpeck3377 no. SRO is edc too. Hunting as well. Listen to the video. Just not combat.
The SRO is so bulky and heavy that it makes the Aimpoint Acro P-1 look svelte!
@Dillon Jackson Like I said, the new Trijicon SRO is heavy, bulky, huge.
What distance should RDS be zeroed at for daily carry?
RMR and 508T for duty
SRO for competition
It’s great if you also run MRO. Similar feel
Cool video. Give us your opinion on holosun optic. That’s what I’d like to see
Are you left eying with a red dot? Tilting your head over like that ?
Haha coffee coffee coffee! Come check out Washington State!
still waiting for the Trijicon Scro
Does the red dot turn off automatically?
arch strength = back to Roman Empire bridge building engineering.
The MRE video turned Eric into a coffee drinker! 😂
Right!? Starts this video off saying hes got 3 cups in him, when in the mre video he says he doesn't drink coffee....next gun gripe he'll be jumping around on his table yelling about every gun law ever presented in history, and do it all in 5 minutes lol, all while showing off his top 5 after every sentence.
@@koreyromanchuk663 😂 And dismisses 3 fud lores.
What about holsters that support this?
The rmr is not probably more robust it undoubtedly is.
Do you recommend 2.5 or 5 MOA on the SRO?
I agree. Like any red dot sight. I want to try it before I buy it, because my aging eyes, need some larger dots, and field of view, in order to see the darn things. But It looks cool. To bad its $500+ ( I think that Georgia Boy can shoot!)
Have one of the 1 moa versions on my AR pistol and I have had excellent luck with it so far.
This video seemed like an offhand attempt at selling me an RMR. You said more good things about the RMR than the SRO the entire video.
do a vido on the cz p10f
Got a SRO on my CZ Shadow 2... so nice
10:30 physics with Dr. Eric
Any one know an optic that can hold up to 3” shotgun rounds ? Would be nice.
Ben Franklin. Works very well. But if my eyes go out ill need a back up. Maybe laser?
Do they make the SRO in Green Dot? Can't seem to locate on their site, anyone?
No.
Why not make one with a steel housing. Yes it would be heavy but it would be for durability and strength. It would be close to being unbreakable unless shot or something like that. With how small optics are for pistols it could even make them smaller looking with more glass. Maybe even small brace like connection in the corners for more strength
That ported S&W 9mm seems to jump a lot for being ported.
I also saw that ........... just 1 more reason why i pack a GLOCK
I have a ported 45 sw that does not jump that much. Very light recoil in my 45 shield.
@@rainmaker1346 buy a GLOCK, ....... just feel the diff.. plus, a fuckin GLOCK ALWAYS FIRES!!!
@@hawkeye1376 any high quality made pistol has equal reliability to a glock. Respect the fact that you carry and protect yourself but this isn't the late 80s/90s anymore. Plenty of options out there.
Some of the M&P’s have early unlocking and that means nasty pressure spikes and possibly higher recoil. I have no personal experience with this but I do own a Gen 1 in .45 and .40 that shoot flat and straight although my .45 does unlock pretty early and throws high left in a brace and insanely high left in my hands so I have modified sights and now for me it’s right on. They are both range toys and the .45 is nearly useless for all but very experienced shooters and myself but I shoot clover leafs at 15yrds all day every other week so I like it.
Every gun is different and I switched to Glock about 3 years ago for competition because support and would switch to another brand/model tomorrow in half a heartbeat if I could get parts/support to do so. Everything is good today with crappy guns being the exception and usually it’s a matter of lemons and not a turd brand.
Could you guys do a m1a1 carbine video
Cost to high vs Holosun 507C! I will stick with my proven RMR’s for heavy duty use! Thanks for vid Eric!
Too right mate
I wanna see a top 5 lever action rifles video
For the love of all that is Miculek, bring the gun up to your eye, not your head down to your gun. This is a handgun, not a shouldered rifle. 06:18
Miculek gives false information too everyone.
J Yang yeah, because he sucks and doesn’t know what he’s doing?!?! 🙄😂🤣 ....OK👌
Omg wife wants one now 😆😆
Is the sro shake awake
SRO is purpose built for target, hunting & competition shooting. The RMR is meant for carry & duty use. AND IT IS AWESOME!
So the SRO iS gOoD fOr DuTy UsE? 🤪
😏🤣
I've YET to see Home Defense mentioned; what am I missing?
@@walldogger1 Great for home defense!
Why do you tilt your head down and to the right while shooting handguns?
Maybe left eye dominant?
I don't know what's wrong with simple flathead screws. I've never stripped one of those, but I've stripped everything else including philips head. Well, not everything everything but you get my point.
Get a JIS screwdriver set and you will not strip any more Phillips head fasteners.
@@oklahomahank2378 What's the difference? From pictures it seems very similar.
@@sogerc1 Very difficult to explain in words, but when you use one the difference is immediately noticeable. The JIS screws are different as well, but I find the JIS works better on Phillips than regular Phillips drivers.
9:00 good for Ichi butt 😎👍
Put it on the Henry 44 mag!!
Hey wondering if you guys can do a video on the best online gun site. That I can buy LEGAL firearms like armslist or others
@Dillon Jackson thank u
I just got one and it already had the battery installed. Is this how they come? Thanks for a response.
Yes.
COFFEE COFFEE
Guys, check out some local 3 gun matches. There’s one within a hour or so drive of me every weekend each month just about, here in north Georgia.
I’m moving there soon - where?
So it costs more, sits higher, and is less durable than the rmr. Great?
Murphy82nd rich man’s toys.
Don't like how brass is bouncing off the lens. Mine is on an sfx where the optic is farther away from the breech face.
I've seen SRO's mounted on HK VP-9's and they have probably a half inch of room in the rear but are still mounted up against the ejection port!
Thanks for this review. I think I’m going to slap on of these 2.5 MOA’s on my PAP M85 I just bought. Has anyone run a 5 MOA and do they like it?
Not sure if you got one yet. I have a 5.0, love it, got a staccato and thought let’s get a 2.5 and returned it bc the 2.5 looked way too small. IMO the 5.0 doesn’t look like it’s 5.0 given how big the glass is. Got a rmr to put on the staccato for now so if anything I’ll switch the rmr and sro around that I have. Today did drop the new rmr hd and rcr. Prolly gonna try out the HD
I'm curious how Chad and Eric think of the john wick movies, they are fantastic.
Did you say a pot of coffee ? ... lmao
Was wondering if you could give a shout out in one of your future videos to Annette's firearm channel? He makes videos on disability accessible firearms and firearm equipment. I'm trying to get him recognized so more new people will find his videos.
Funny how three cups of coffee makes the dot dance but you were on spot.
Their not going to stop making RMR but you better bet your a** the prices on the RMR are gonna drop big time...Get Ready my Fellow Poors,we will now be able to afford an RMR..
ITS looks like a C-More sight
Eric acting like 3 cups is a lot of coffee but I also realize my mamaw and papaw drinking a pot and a half each before they actually get up isn’t normal either and they don’t make weak coffee either
I'm wondering if some entrepreneurial individual will make a protective housing for the SRO, just like they did for the Holosun and Leupold did for the Deltapoint Pro...
I think it looks cooler than the RMR.
Q: What is more important, looking at the red dot or looking at your sights? A: Hitting your target accurately and quickly!
I really want a RMR for my G19 EDC. I'll have to go with a Holosun 507c.
Yeeeeeet
In the close-up at the beginning, it looks like the casings being ejected are hitting the SRO. Is that the case or does it just look that way because of the vantage point?
SRO being too fragile for my wallet. Aimpoint ACRO P1 is looking mighty tasty! Atleast it won't shatter on the 1st drop
