Good video, very informative. The only thing I could add is one of my reasons for buying Holosun over other brands is the side battery tray. I think its a very positive feature that you don't have to remove the entire optic to change the battery.
I’d like to say that aside from the original RMR specifically, which is essentially being replaced now by the RMR HD (used SRO style battery), this isn’t an issue anymore. The side battery tray is a more vulnerable failure point than the top load. Same concept with the shake awake, which introduces more complications into circuitry that might cause failure, especially with impact. It’s usually a non-issue but there is a benefit.
You are doing a great job, I for one much appreciate your review so I can make better choices thank you. Here’s my struggle, my friend. Great video. I have the SRO and love it. One of the best things I like about it is that you do not have to that the sight off the gun to change the Battery. Can you do the same with the 507?
If you have a problem with chinese made parts you shouldn't buy trijicon or aimpoint either since they both utilize china made parts. China has like 90% of the resistors and capacitors market.
I have to agree with this dude 100% but more to the purpose of them and one thing that drove me mental about the SRO on my Shadow 2 Compact was its hanging over the ejection port would get absolutely destroyed with grime from a heavy range day of 1,000 plus rounds and while i love cleaning my pistols and gadgets it would become a pain in the ass after a while
Cut depth may have subtle differences but both optics should fit. I have found the thickness of the SRO may not fit the rmr footprint as easy for some slide cuts. But it's a case by case basis. But typically the cut depth specifically shouldn't have any consequences. If you have a slide cut for rmr it should support both optics.
I prefer green also. I see it better in different lighting and backgrounds and prefer the different reticles. the one thing I like about the SRO is the Round field of view. the Round glass draws my eye into the center quicker and better than the rectangle or square does.
This was a very, very good video! I love both of them. The only comments I would make is…. If you have a fibre optic site on your irons for your front site Get your optic in the opposite colour Or if the optic comes in a certain color, change the fibre optic on your iron front site The dot from the reticle the same colour as your fibre optic is just too busy And also, I didn’t hear anything about battery life or battery replacement Some optics have to be taken off the gun to change the battery. I’m not sure how easy it is with these two options. Keep up the good work and be well
I bought a brand new SRO i really liked the optic but it would randomly shut off and the only way to get it to turn back on was to completely take the battery out and reinstall it. Luckily I was still in the 30 day return time with Amazon so I returned it and bought the Holosun. Now that I’ve used both I will tell you the Holosun is my favorite. The buttons are more tactile and there is different reticles to choose from.
It does this if you don’t tighten the battery cap down enough . I have 6 SRO’s and never had an issue with this , but have helped others who have by tightening their caps . I had one of my SRO’s fail after over 90k rounds and many hours of dryfire . It was mounted ion my Glock 34 it was over 3 years old and Trijicon replaced it with a brand new one at zero cost to me . I suspect that like most things nowadays these are being promoted by paid influencers. You used to be able to go on this platform and trust reviews , but since these platforms have been demonetized, these companies pay influencers to push their products . I have a Holosun that I put on my PDP ( heavily influenced pistol ) . I definitely prefer the SRO , not even close to me. I am not saying this review isn’t an honest one , but I am saying many opinions are now paid for on this platform .
It does turn on but given the battery life rating you're still good for annual battery maintenance. The optic still turns on while holstered and carrying since it goes based on movement. But the hours it's rated for is massive.
I like the comp but the width of the optic at the top causes printing issues for me while carrying appendix. The tighter the grip is pushed in the more the optic prints. My SRO doesn’t have that issue. Also I don’t see the benefit of a wide window at the top. The tall window is great for tracking the dot but I don’t need that extra width at the top of the window. The round shape makes the SRO conceal great while offering a large window to me. Like you, I do wish it came in green though. Great vid man
Thanks for sharing. I agree with many of your points. I did get a Gideon Optics Omega in green and it shared similar styles to the Sro at a fraction of the cost. I haven’t had printing issues with any of my optics it’s been with the grip frame but over time it becomes less of a concern.

Less brightness means less natural bloom even for those with perfect vision. Everyones eyes are different, gotta find your happy place. Good review, thanks. You never touched on the difference between looking through a rectangle vs a circle...I'm curious, thinking of either one of these optics but it seems like the circle might be more natural. I'm used to traditional rifle scopes so maybe that's why. Just curious on your thoughts, thanks.
I will say a lot of people side with you and prefer the rounded shape based on other applications from their arsenal. I think both offer more than adequate field of view and it's a preference that the individual has to choose what works best for their eyes.
I recommend the 507 comp. I got rid of my sro the moment that Holosun model came out. The 507 comp have more features and better durability 💯. The sro parts are mainly from china btw 🤣

Lol ya that is a weird combo... just saying that if a American company can produce a complete functional rifle (no I don't own a psa, I'm a urgi guy) but I'm just saying a red dot deff doesn't cost that to produce I bet the actual optic say a mro probably costs around 20 bucks to produce it's a pice of metal, screen, led, battery and a few odds and ends they probably source from china... plus the costs of the company factored in... they cost what people will pay. There is absolutely no reason that the Trijicon SRO can't come with a green dot , other than the management is unbelievably hard headed and refuse to offer the potential customer an option !

I went with the 507 comp on my prodigy. It lasted a month, It would turn off every 1 to 3 rounds. It would turn back on but 1 to 3 rounds later off again. I sent it in on a Monday. I am on day 9 now. The tracking shows it was delivered to them Monday. The have not yet sent me an email confirming they got it. Once they confirm that they have it they said it would take 20 to 30 days to process. Then if it takes a week to ship it back (they ship through USPS). If this is typical Holosun customer service Ill never buy another Holosun product. 1 month old and they won't just replace it. They will first try to repair it. If i get it back and its not working right Im going to smash it with a hammer and send it back to them with a dog turd in the box.

Was there enough thread lock on the screw?
Yes locktite. I have SRO Dpp vortex carry and dpp as well. Just can't trust it anymore this one esp it's on my EDC gun.
Great content!
Thank you!
if you live in Europe the prices are. Holosun 450Euro, SRO 900Euro, easy choice...
Wow!!!!!
Excellent video!
@@Babayaga17758 thanks!
U did a great job 👏🏿
Thanks! I really appreciate that
I recommend the 507 comp. I got rid of my sro the moment that Holosun model came out. The 507 comp have more features and better durability 💯. The sro parts are mainly from china btw 🤣
Same! I converted all mine over.
@@jaywethyea mate for sure! I after sold both my sro, I managed to pick up three 507comp. Now all three of my pistols got it on. Sig p226 X5 legion, CZ shadow 2, and Beretta 92x performance. My Legion was feeling left out without an optic for so long haha! 🍻
@@JoJoHartt crazy right? 3 for 2. Great deal
Holosun on is an American, Chinese company. All of them are made in China
Mine was
I own trijicon scopes but its crazy a red dot cost as much a a psa ar15
Yea the market is definitely getting interesting for all things 2A
Comparing bananas to beef jerky there pal. Bottom of the barrel AR15s to top of the line pistol red dot😂
And right now Gucci upgrades are in..
Cool video 👍 keep it up
Thanks for the support!
I like the SRO but for the price I’d take the holosun for the value but both are extremely expensive
@@samsolis92781 they are top tier for sure.
Great job 👏
Thanks!!!
Sadly, unless it says Eotech on it, it's made overseas. Fewer and fewer items are fully made it USA anymore 😢
So true.
"The vast majority of Trijicon products, including ACOG®, VCOG®, RMR®,RMR®HD, RMR®cc, RCR™, SRO®, MRO®, Iron Sights, MGRS®, Thermal Optics and Mounts are designed, engineered, machined, and assembled at our facilities in Wixom, Michigan or Auburn, California, and are therefore 100% Made in the USA"
Stop lying 😂😂 eotech vudu and eflx are made overseas but say eotechon them, just stop lying already
Bushnell RXM 300 Bigger window than both SRO and 507 comp
I haven’t had the opportunity to check that one out. It’s pretty new. But I’ll see about it.
I’ve heard that! I really want to get behind one of those!
Yeah… but it’s a bushnell

Something about Chinese optics do not settle well with me. I also don’t love the reticle options. Just want a simple dot. I get the Holosun and do that, but I would rather have the SRO. This also from someone who owns some holosuns.
Hey man I follow ya. I get your points. Thanks for watching my dude.
@@jayweth keep it up man!
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY"🎉🎉🎉🎉
@@ragin2490 aye thanks! Coming up again next month 😇
How do you feel about the durability of the 507 comp? Do you think the glass would hold up for duty purposes? Or is the 507C a better option?
It feels very rugged. I haven't duty tested it but it feels solid but the 507c might be more resistant to damage given the build design.
@@jayweth thanks I ended up going with the RMR type 2. Hopefully I like it!
@@3PeatTV I hear those are good too. So many optics.
Do you think the SRO can handle the abuse of being mounted in a 12 gauge shotgun?
@@FanofLocke627 depending the mount
Good, Thx
The green color is a must for my color blind ass as I simply cannot pick up red unless it is dark.
@@hardcoretrout this is a great point!
507 comp all day. I have 2.
Seems like the goal posts keep moving. Miss the days when things were simpler.
@@GunMuse very true. I do miss simpler times too
Hell ya bro
Thank you!!!!
As a consumer its my job to get the best value for my mullah. Its trijicons job to compete in the market. They cant or wont, so, holosun it is
Very fair points. Thanks for watching!
Enjoy your chinaman product!
There is no comparison. Trijicon and wouldn’t even consider a Holosun on my pistol.
Hey we all have our choices. And I’m thankful there are options. Thanks for watching and for the support!
Holosun comes in green. Game over.
It really is nice on the eyes. Thanks for watching!
I got a chance to look thru the 507 comp red and the green and hands down the red is more clear . The green looked like junk and 4 other people looked thru it as well at the same time .. I will be picking up a red. I have a Sro as well .. but I want to try out the red
@@justinl8455 Good for you Justin it is great to check it out on your own and not rely on someone's opinion. It is a great optic no matter the color.
This is why they are sold out!! YOU HAVE THEM ALL lol lol 😂
🤫 don’t tell my secrets.
Well, sad Actually video explaining the difference between a holosun and the SRO. Hi I have tried many different red Dodge, but I always seem to stay with holosun. They just make a good product and they work.
Thank you and thanks for watching!
😆 no comparison made in USA vs made in China 😊
@@Entingbukawi by made you mean assembled?
There is absolutely no reason that the Trijicon SRO can't come with a green dot , other than the management is unbelievably hard headed and refuse to offer the potential customer an option !
Agreed
SRO is to close to barrel. Gets dirty quickly. Deltapoint Pro for me
That’s a solid one too. I don’t have one personally but it’s a great choice.
I cant see green worth crap during the day
That's interesting. I find it easier to see. Maybe it's just our eyes individually 🤷🏼♂️
I’d like to know who is watching this not on a Chinese product or Asian product
Exactly. And where can I get one hahaha
If there was a USA made option I'd buy it. Just like with red dots on my pistols which there is USA made options! Crazy right?
The parts internally are made in China. Just buy Holosun and save money. Same lifetime warrenty.
Great points!

Stop with the lies. Just enjoy your holosun without trying to justify it by lying. Sounds like you just can't afford a quality US product. That's fine. No need for the lies 😂
Holosun ftw.
Just like your mom
At least you don't have a choice with the phone but you do with Trijicon. I rather not support a country that hate our way of life.
❤
I wouldn't even Plug a Commie Product just a Old Solider Saying
Your loss, just like Vietnam was
Keep your "feelings" we want your THOUGHTS. SRO is "American made" with the same chi-com built electronics that every other optic uses. Would it hurt Holosun to ease off on their billboard-sized labels on each side?🤡
Can you elaborate so I can follow your comment? where did I express a feeling about this? No emotional context was given. But I could be mistaken. Regardless, thank you for watching and giving your point on this.
Perhaps my verbiage was incorrect when saying "I feel" I should have said "I think" given it was an opinion and not an emotional connection to the perspective I was providing.

@@m1a242 hey welcome back! Good to hear from you again.
@@sycodad4483 wow that sucks to hear. I haven't had those issues both with my optic and customer service. I contact them on Instagram with their marketing team to address these types of issues and have had great results. Also consider contacting your distributor you purchased it from if not direct from holosun. Hope it gets better and happy holidays.
Holosun green for me.
The 508t is better.. I'll never have to worry about a dead battery
That's great! Good choice!
