Braised Pork Belly with Eggs (Tau yew bak) 红烧肉

    500 g pork belly
    1 Tbs Soy sauce
    2 Tbs Oyster sauce
    1 Tbs Chinese wine
    Pinch of Pepper
    1 Tbs Sesame oil
    Mix well, cover and set aside for 30 mins to miranade
    Start cooking, Add oil to pot:
    Cinnamon stick
    Ginger
    Star anise
    Cloves
    A head of garlic
    Rock sugar or regular sugar
    Stir spices til fragrant, Add the marinated pork!
    Stir fry, once pork browns, Add:
    3 Tbs Dark soy sauce
    3 rock sugar
    Water to cover the meat
    Add the lid and bring to Boil
    Add:
    1 tsp Five spice powder
    Peeled hardboiled Eggs
    Stir to cover eggs in sauce
    Cover and simmer for 15 more minutes
    Stir well, simmer for another 15 mins
    Garnish with spring onions and enjoy!

    How much 5spice power to put? If no rock sugar, how much white sugar to put?

      Pls add in 1 tsp of 5 spice powder. White sugar around 3/4 tbsp. thank you. :)

      Not everytime must pell the garlic skin in Chinese cooking..becouse Chinese like let the garlic skin for braised something..the taste more nicer
