You have to use your imagination a little bit but it gives some of us comfort to believe even if we know they’re just people underneath. Personally even when people poodle I can still stretch my imagination but there’s something comforting about seeing what looks like a big two legged animal. Dang it now I want a fursuit hug.
I have no issue with Poodling believe it or not it's just sometimes yah gotta break the magic. I've never been to cons before to see poodling but i wouldn't mind because that's the suiter's decision. @@hikaru9624 True. Gym is the worst. I used to have a misting waterbottle that helped regulate my body temperature but they refused to let me bring it because it could be used for pranks and stuff.

Fancy that) and a Gym of all places should know just how important it is! I assume you could buy bottled water at said Gym or do they not sell bottled water in case they get used for pranks? (Hell even my secondary school sold water, they even had a fountain that you could use!).

I'm glad I'm in the UK. It's almost always cold here, so much so that hardly any houses here have air conditioning. There's only like a week of heatwave (around 35°C) and up to a week of snow. Other than that it's cold and grey skies.

Hello from the northern Highlands! Yeah the few days of actual summer is rare. Rare enough that like you said, no one has A/C in their house! Hell I'm one of those who doesn't use A/C in my car! (The window down is usually enough). Heat is more important up here but that's not surprising considering where I live (yes I know we don't get a lot of snow compared to x country, it's still cold and very annoying...and it kills so keep warm in winter).

This isn't fair of these people to get mad at others. Like I've also seen people say that even with medical conditions they HAVE TO KEEP THEIR SUIT ON. They're super easy to make and most fursuits have them. They just have walls on the sides which creates the illusion of more space thus a follow me eye! My computer auto corrected fursuit like six times, lol.
Medical reason for poodeling! I have a GJ feeding tube. It comes out of my upper stomach right below my ribs. I wear a short sleeve under my suit, because I can't stand tight sleeves, and after a while, my furred suit can get too heavy and irritates my feeding tube, and I've unashamedly poodled before when it was too much for me to full suit.
Kigus are underrated. Hell, in all honesty, wearing only a kigu and no fursuit parts is pretty underrated. I literally don't even have fursuit parts, but I get the same sort of feeling in my kigu, except maybe not as much clout on the internet. Still can't wear it in deep south summer heat unfortunately, but at 80 or below it's tolerable. I think kiguing would make for an interesting video on its own. ;)
ikr. if i was fursuiting on a budget and not blow $1.5K on a high quality fursuit, id get a kigu custom made (approx $300), or a kigu animal based on my fursona ($50), with the head and paws ($400) for a budget
I have a 'fursuit' which is one of my species,a Boxsona where the head is a box and has paper glued to it for color or is painted on, or no color. mine has a tight body and it gets WARM in it so i poodle a lot in it and just use paws, head, and tail. And i have no tight clothing i could use underneath. I can only suit in full suit for only like, one minute before oerheating and getting a bit dizzy.
I don't have the money for a fursuit, but if I did, I'd def partial or poodle. I'd probably use tights to cover my skin so it matches the color of my suit. But I like the way it looks! Plus, it's cheaper, easier, & lighter to wear.
Do as you may as long as it dosn't hurt others. Be you. if they don't hurt anyone then let them be no, you don't have to love it or even like that their doing it, but as long as their not hurting others no one has the right to harass them.
Reasons for Poodling. When I was around ten I had heat stroke at the zoo and now I just have major issues with the heat. Hypoglycemia is a condition I have were you burn through calories easier and need to eat more often, and your blood sugar can drop to extremely low levels with just very little physical exertion. But, that also means your body temp is usually a few degrees higher due to a faster metabolism. So..... Yeah.
I'm an EXTREMELY young furry and I only recently joined the community (a month ago), yet I already want to try fursuits. I get hot extremely fast though, so if anything I think I want to try just paws first. One of the main reasons why I've become a furry is because the animals are so cute! I feel like having paws on that I can easily take off if I start sweating would be epic. Then I can have my bunny head. (If my fursona doesn't change.)
Finally, someone who understands. I for one have fibromyalgia and a low heat tolerance, so partial is the best I can do, and even then I sometimes have to rip my head off cuz I feel like I’m about to pass out, it’s not fun but health is my #1 priority, it ALWAYS should be.
I have a friend who comes from a very restrictive background, she actually moved away from her family because they became so controlling of her and how much of her body could be on show. She loves poodling because she can be comfortable in her self and still dress as her fursona at the same time :)
On the point of sleeves being slightly too short--my suit is slightly too short on the arms, so I safety pinned them to the paws. It works really well if it's an inch or two off.

I am lucky half the year it's freezing and the other half it's not really hot but the humidity is so bad. Only a couple of months are nice but you never know what month it will be because Kansas weather will change with out warning it could be freezing one moment and it could be hot the next.

I have some sensory issues with clothing anyway and poodling can even be a little much for me. Also I liked the way poodling looked with my fursuit. Not that I do that anymore because my head got invaded and destroyed by mice :(
My friend has what is called "the stings" it's where your muscles feel like they're being stung by hundreds of bees when you get overheated. So he has to partial, with a fan head, and at most he's been able to do half hour in a suit. And that's after months of trying to get adjusted.
I don't like poodling myself but my first time suiting was at a charity event and I happened to be stationed at a table with no shade...in August...in hot weather... I was wearing a thin top under a t shirt but had to end up poodling to stop myself passing out It doesn't bother me if someone chooses to poodle or not I just prefer not to unless necessary I'm definitely one of those dedicated ones who prefers to cover up my skin

Dysautonomia, is a condition where the body can’t regulate certain functions (like sweating), my twin has this so they can’t full suit even if they wanted to because they would overheat way too quickly.

I'm actually pretty excited that this is becoming more of a thing; I'd really like to just poodle and wear cosplay with my fursuit head at cons. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of furry events or fur cons near me that I can get to. I'm also someone who overheats way too easily. Thank you for making a video on this topic!

Great vid!! AS an elder fur I've always held to be the fur you want people to see. We don't always have the luxury of a well chilled hotel. More than a few furries have done a bit of crossover into events like Ren fairs and found a partial with a well planned wardrobe could go a long ay to keeping cool. There are the cooling suits, which are not a bad idea at all. A bit of skin can not ruin the magic for those filling the part.
A good workaround for paws without slits is to have a pair of gloves that you can pick stuff up with with you so you can take off your paws and either have then under you paws or have them in a bag of some kind so you can pick stuff up :3
Finish/make the dino fursuit first, if it looks good in your opinion then I'd say go ahead and get a skull dog! But I would say keep practicing on dino masks since they're similar to skull dogs. I'm With Jai: Work In The Dino Suit And See What You Can Do With That. Also If You Really Like Your Dino Enough To Put In The Work,I Don't Hurt To Try Experimenting With Creating More Suits For The Same Character (But In Different Ways To See What You Like Best). Stuff Like Rubbery Scales Can Really Help Give It Some Punch.

i have problems with most fabrics causing rashes (also in extreme cases open sores) and a temperature control problem that often means i have to wear summer clothing in snow. also my persona can also change to full human if anyone says anything i can argue i am mid transformation lol
I have a lot of characters that wear clothes, including one who loves fashion; I'm going to poodle if/when I get my fursuit because the clothes also make the character.
I have a lot of mental and physical health problems so if i overheat in suit i panic because i quickly get claustrophobic and have to take soot off immediately also if I have a panic attack it could send me into a seizure so when designing my suit I will be poodling or partial fursuiting because on top of all my medical issues and everything else I honestly just like the way it looks and it gives me lots of opportunity for some really cute outfits so I can express my character's personality better and be a lot more comfortable and have a lot more fun
I don’t get hot very easy I wear hoodies in 90F+ but if I get too hot I pass out very easily due to one of my median issues and it sucks :/ hence why I’ll most likely never make a full suit most likely a 3/4 suit tho
i have ehlers danlos syndrome which means my joints tend to pop out of place a lot, and i imagine itd be pretty hard to carefully pop joints back in while covered in padding and fur... also it just makes me get hot and dizzy and dehydrated wayyyy quicker
I have asthma,deafness in one ear and poor vision so some suit heads spell disaster since I can’t see or hear or breathe so I’ve gotta be real careful when I get my own suit. (First suit experience was in a friends suit they let me were)

I was at Megaplex 2019, and even with as minimal as i could get without 'poodling' (knee high socks and a big hoodie, the only bit of skin showing was the small area of thigh right above my knees) i was still dying and had to keep heading back to the headless lounge. My suit head was DRENCHED after just the parade picture and parade! So yeah poodling is 100% valid
At chibi pa 2009 I was wearing black sleeves to cover my arms while I was dressed as Raywoman a female counterpart of Rayman from the game Rayman. It was my first time suiting up in a partial. Unfortunatly, I got rid of her because there was a fungus ringworm in the foam from the mattress while it rained and being on the porch for a long while. I got rid of it on my face. I do have this foam phobia, slowly getting over it. :3
I'm also currently working on my own suit and possibly getting into suit making. My goal is to make it a partial or mini partial in separate parts so that if I need to cool off I can take everything off. Basically the head and hand paws will be separate. No body suit. But there will be furred legs on a pair of leggings I bought to make slim digit legs. Making them on leggings would make things slightly easier when I need to cool off and so I can just slide it down and sit down for a bit Lmao. I'm genuinely excited to see if this actually works for me. If the legs don't work out ill keep them but may end up just partialing or poodling.

As someone with Hypohydrosis I love to see support for those who physically can't cover all of their skin (especially with the super hot climate here)

Where I live we get a lot of snow, but we also have 94+ degree summers

I don't have the money for a fursuit, but if I did, I'd def partial or poodle. I'd probably use tights to cover my skin so it matches the color of my suit. But I like the way it looks! Plus, it's cheaper, easier, & lighter to wear.

I'm more or less a handler for my group. If somebody overheats I can take my head off quickly and assist. Usually just rock a head and tail.

Reasons for Poodling.
When I was around ten I had heat stroke at the zoo and now I just have major issues with the heat.
Hypoglycemia is a condition I have were you burn through calories easier and need to eat more often, and your blood sugar can drop to extremely low levels with just very little physical exertion. But, that also means your body temp is usually a few degrees higher due to a faster metabolism. So..... Yeah.

I'm an EXTREMELY young furry and I only recently joined the community (a month ago), yet I already want to try fursuits. I get hot extremely fast though, so if anything I think I want to try just paws first. One of the main reasons why I've become a furry is because the animals are so cute! I feel like having paws on that I can easily take off if I start sweating would be epic. Then I can have my bunny head. (If my fursona doesn't change.)
Finally, someone who understands.
I for one have fibromyalgia and a low heat tolerance, so partial is the best I can do, and even then I sometimes have to rip my head off cuz I feel like I’m about to pass out, it’s not fun but health is my #1 priority, it ALWAYS should be.
I have a friend who comes from a very restrictive background, she actually moved away from her family because they became so controlling of her and how much of her body could be on show. She loves poodling because she can be comfortable in her self and still dress as her fursona at the same time :)

On the point of sleeves being slightly too short--my suit is slightly too short on the arms, so I safety pinned them to the paws. It works really well if it's an inch or two off.

I am lucky half the year it's freezing and the other half it's not really hot but the humidity is so bad. Only a couple of months are nice but you never know what month it will be because Kansas weather will change with out warning it could be freezing one moment and it could be hot the next.

I have some sensory issues with clothing anyway and poodling can even be a little much for me. Also I liked the way poodling looked with my fursuit.

My friend has what is called "the stings" it's where your muscles feel like they're being stung by hundreds of bees when you get overheated. So he has to partial, with a fan head, and at most he's been able to do half hour in a suit. And that's after months of trying to get adjusted.

I don't like poodling myself but my first time suiting was at a charity event and I happened to be stationed at a table with no shade...in August...in hot weather... I was wearing a thin top under a t shirt but had to end up poodling to stop myself passing out
It doesn't bother me if someone chooses to poodle or not I just prefer not to unless necessary
I'm definitely one of those dedicated ones who prefers to cover up my skin

Dysautonomia, is a condition where the body can’t regulate certain functions (like sweating), my twin has this so they can’t full suit even if they wanted to because they would overheat way too quickly.
Does arm painting and showing the painted arms count?

Great vid!! AS an elder fur I've always held to be the fur you want people to see. We don't always have the luxury of a well chilled hotel. More than a few furries have done a bit of crossover into events like Ren fairs and found a partial with a well planned wardrobe could go a long ay to keeping cool. There are the cooling suits, which are not a bad idea at all. A bit of skin can not ruin the magic for those filling the part.
A good workaround for paws without slits is to have a pair of gloves that you can pick stuff up with with you so you can take off your paws and either have then under you paws or have them in a bag of some kind so you can pick stuff up :3

Finish/make the dino fursuit first, if it looks good in your opinion then I'd say go ahead and get a skull dog! But I would say keep practicing on dino masks since they're similar to skull dogs. I hope all goes well :3

I'm With Jai: Work In The Dino Suit And See What You Can Do With That. Also If You Really Like Your Dino Enough To Put In The Work,I Don't Hurt To Try Experimenting With Creating More Suits For The Same Character (But In Different Ways To See What You Like Best). Stuff Like Rubbery Scales Can Really Help Give It Some Punch.

I have asthma and panic related seizures/ sensory processing disorder. So I tend to half suit w myService dog. I used to full suit but not in a while

i have problems with most fabrics causing rashes (also in extreme cases open sores) and a temperature control problem that often means i have to wear summer clothing in snow.
also my persona can also change to full human if anyone says anything i can argue i am mid transformation lol
I have a lot of characters that wear clothes, including one who loves fashion; I'm going to poodle if/when I get my fursuit because the clothes also make the character.

I have a lot of mental and physical health problems so if i overheat in suit i panic because i quickly get claustrophobic and have to take soot off immediately also if I have a panic attack it could send me into a seizure so when designing my suit I will be poodling or partial fursuiting because on top of all my medical issues and everything else I honestly just like the way it looks and it gives me lots of opportunity for some really cute outfits so I can express my character's personality better and be a lot more comfortable and have a lot more fun
I don’t get hot very easy I wear hoodies in 90F+ but if I get too hot I pass out very easily due to one of my median issues and it sucks :/ hence why I’ll most likely never make a full suit most likely a 3/4 suit tho
i have ehlers danlos syndrome which means my joints tend to pop out of place a lot, and i imagine itd be pretty hard to carefully pop joints back in while covered in padding and fur... also it just makes me get hot and dizzy and dehydrated wayyyy quicker
I have asthma,deafness in one ear and poor vision so some suit heads spell disaster since I can’t see or hear or breathe so I’ve gotta be real careful when I get my own suit. (First suit experience was in a friends suit they let me were)

if you mean to appear as an animatronic, maybe use makeshift endoskeleton parts if the idea is to appear as a withered/ignited/mangle-type animatronic
I don’t do well in heat, plus anxiety rules out a fullsuit, but hopefully I can get a partial soon
I was at Megaplex 2019, and even with as minimal as i could get without 'poodling' (knee high socks and a big hoodie, the only bit of skin showing was the small area of thigh right above my knees) i was still dying and had to keep heading back to the headless lounge. My suit head was DRENCHED after just the parade picture and parade!
So yeah poodling is 100% valid
At chibi pa 2009 I was wearing black sleeves to cover my arms while I was dressed as Raywoman a female counterpart of Rayman from the game Rayman. It was my first time suiting up in a partial. Unfortunatly, I got rid of her because there was a fungus ringworm in the foam from the mattress while it rained and being on the porch for a long while. I got rid of it on my face. I do have this foam phobia, slowly getting over it. :3

I'm also currently working on my own suit and possibly getting into suit making. My goal is to make it a partial or mini partial in separate parts so that if I need to cool off I can take everything off.
Basically the head and hand paws will be separate. No body suit. But there will be furred legs on a pair of leggings I bought to make slim digit legs.
Making them on leggings would make things slightly easier when I need to cool off and so I can just slide it down and sit down for a bit Lmao.
I'm genuinely excited to see if this actually works for me. If the legs don't work out ill keep them but may end up just partialing or poodling.
