Match fixing is unfortunately part of sports. FIFA recently had a major scandal on it. Don’t forget about the Black Sox scandal. And no matter what teams will tell you, we know that a lot of them try to tank. It’s as simple as that.
Match fixing will probably never go away. We just have to accept that. Now, the NFL has had its fair share of officiating controversies, but one particular event stands out from the rest. That would be Super Bowl 40, played between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks in Detroit.
While many of us try to remember it as Jerome Bettis’ perfect send-off as a champion in his hometown, it’s too hard to forget that the game had so many officiating mistakes to the point where people, to this day, believe the fix was in.
Today we present The Most FIXED Superbowl of All Time.
and don't forget to leave your video ideas down in the comments below, we’re looking and we’ll give you a shout out in the video if we use it.

Especially since Holmy had ALREADY done a "solid" for the NFL by "gifting" the Broncos with the GO AHEAD/winning score robbing the Packers of back to back SB wins. THAT was a "pay back" for Elway being ROBBED of 3 SB's as punishment for him REFUSING to PLAY for the Baltimore Colts, the team that DRAFTED him #1 in the entire draft. Yes, the Steelers get help from NFL refs because it helps the NFL's brand. They are a popular team. But the Cowboys and Patriots get help too. Any high ratings team that is also widely hated gets the NFL bump occasionally. I wonder if its mandatory for NFL refs to have kids; when you have a family to worry about, its easier for the NFL to bribe (or scare?) potential snitches.
Never forget ... there are only three American sports that are legally classified as Sports Entertainment in America: Pro Wrestling, Roller Derby ... and NFL football. So legally the NFL is covered.

@@thelastremaininglogicallib9320 Gotta disagree in regards to the OPI call, you gotta remember that this game was played in 2005 & there was a significantly larger tolerance for contact between receivers & defenders. That wasn't offensive pass interference in 2005. However, the goal line play is inconclusive on replay.
Even if the OPI is still called, the Seahawks had time & were in position to stage a comeback during the later two penalties that we agree, were bad calls. I think that if those later two were made correctly the argument for the Seahawks winning that game is just as compelling as the one for the Steelers winning. Robbery.

A case can be made for the refs winning all 6 Stealers SB games. From the blatantly obvious in the 70's , to the Bus' last game. Things like the ref Stepping between the Rams defender and Harris ( old " triple F Harris " Fat F*n Franco ) deliberately so he could got the last 50 yards on his touchdown run without incident. Or Ben's invisible sneak. And my personal " favourite " , the famous " toetap " on the last play of the SB against the Cardinals. Look at the replay. The Pittsburgh WR has 1 foot in, and the other foot ON TOP OF his other foot. It NEVER touched the turf. And like the Immaculate Deception, the NFL will go back and doctor or destroy every piece of existing footage to support the ref's alternate reality. The thing they can't do, is since 1972 we've had DVD's, VCR's and Blu Rays. And you can't go to everyone's home and wipe the recorders of millions of people. On and on. Since 1972, the NFL's film rooms have been choked by the sheer volume of blown calls and outright gifts from the refs to the Stealers with no sign of letup in sight.

The referees also ignored the pass-interference that the Bucks committed on the Chiefs in the first half. Then there was a 15 yard penalty called for a Chiefs falling down accidentally and barley bumping a Buck's leg-this was enforced in the 2nd half against the Chiefs as a 15 year penalty. Plus with less than a minute left in the second quarter the Chiefs head coach Andy Reid called two time outs while the Bucks whom had the ball where out of time outs, why? Why would Andy Reid give Brady more time to push the ball up the field and score? Which is exactly what happened. Even I know that with time running out, you don't call time out and help your opponent score another touchdown-this was an incredibly stupid move by the Chiefs, but it was scripted that way. Also notice how in the second half the referees no longer where calling pass interference on the Chief's cornerbacks, since the damage to the Chiefs had already been done in the first half. All of a sudden the Chief's fix that problem that was killing them in the first half? Why didn’t they fix that problem in the first quarter? Why where they playing like amateurs? The Chiefs did not play like the Chiefs, as they never even scored a touchdown, with a series of dropped catches that Chief's receivers usually make, the receivers failed to be effective! Andy, let me give you some west coast examples. Raiders: Destroyed their opponents in all 3 Super Bowls they played in. 49ers: Destroyed 3 of 5 opponents in Super Bowls they won. Both were leaps and bounds ahead of the rest of the NFL. Ok. Maybe not the 1980 Raiders. The 49ers: 13-3 in 1981. 15-1 in 1984 (first team to win 18 games). 14-2 in 1989, and had the reputation of being the absolute best team in the NFL. The Seahawks in 2013...13-3, and again...destroyed their opponent. Flip side. The LA Rams...in 1979, not leaps and bounds ahead of anyone. Lost to Pittsburgh. 2018....same story. Lost to the Patriots. The Niners in 12 and Hawks in 14, not leaps and bounds ahead of the league. Lost the Super Bowl. Patriots...won the vast majority of their Super Bowls by a field goal. Game could have gone either way. Steelers...you saw the video. A few calls go Dallas’s way, and the Cowboys were the team of the 70s. Buffalo...went to 4, lost to NFC East opponents. East coast teams have won more Super Bowls than any other region.

I know refs take pride in what they do but I doubt he'd still feel that guilty about a couple of bad calls he made years ago, even in a big game like that. I'm not a fan of the Seahawks but truth is truth and everything about that game including the events leading up to it, screams "FIXED!!!"

@@RagnarokMic Yes, I said, "a couple". A couple IS "TWO". He's implying here that ALL of the refs were in on it. It would be too obvious if one ref made all of the bad calls. However, I know what you're getting at... Any ref can make two bad calls in a game. But my point is, if they were HONEST mistakes, even in a big game, I doubt he'd be saying years later, "Ill go to my grave regretting it". That's like saying ... I carry it with me or it haunts me.
But it's when you add that to all the other evidence... There were MANY bad calls and ALL in the Steelers favor. And it looks even worse when the city of Detroit was going Pittsburgh crazy before hand. They even gave Jerome B. the key to the city a few days before the game. Just that alone looks HORRIBLE! Hosting cities should never do things like that!
I promise you, game fixing is done more than you can imagine, esp in championship games. I believe it's even for political reasons sometimes. But hey, we can agree to disagree. Cheers

@@t-boog2173 Except those two calls were the only bad calls in the game. And it's easy to make a ref regret something by berating them about bad calls, with his personal calls actual being questionable. Plus it's Levy, who has a history of controversial calls.
The other 5 calls (as there were only 7 flags against them in the entire game) are certifiable and backed as correct by video evidence. People can deny the OPI all they like, but it's clear as day.
Maybe they fixed the game, but that would mean the Seahawks were in on the fix, because it was them underperforming that lost them the game. They shanked FG's, they turned the ball over, they committed the penalties. One thing is certain, refs don't fix a game by 2 bad calls.

You're talking silliness there bro. The man not only admits those two calls were wrong, he said, "it left me with A LOT of sleepless nights... I think about it CONSTANTLY". He said he'll always wish he"d done better. (That's called regret)
Also, Seattle's "poor performance" was mostly the RESULT of all those bad calls. How can a team perform well when the officials keep stealing your momentum, big gains, and points? Like the "pushing off" call on Jackson's crucial first quarter touchdown. That was a bad call and cost Seattle 4 points, and a lot of momentum.
Btw, There were several bad calls against Seattle, not just two, and at least one bad "no call" on the obvious horse collar tackle. On top of all that, the stadium was filled with Steelers fans and all of Detroit had Steeler fever.
Bottom line, I believe Superbowl XL was "Seattle vs Pittsburgh & the town of Detroit & the Refs & 80% Steelers fans. Whether the game was fixed or not doesn't change the fact that Detroit was CLEARLY supporting the Steelers and there were bad calls made that CLEARLY went in favor of the Steelers. So anyway you skin it, Seattle got a raw deal. But hey, believe whatever you like. It's just a game anyway. Feel free to have the last word and God Bless!

    • @RagnarokMic
      @RagnarokMic 5 років тому +3

@@t-boog2173 Literally 5 of the 7 flags against Seattle are objectively correct. Like Jackson clearly pushing off, he both knocks the defender backwards and uses it to cut. Called 9 times out of 10. Jackson cost them 4 points, not the refs, his fault. Shouldn't have obviously and blatantly pushed off, then again, had he not, the defender might have been in position to pick it, as he was pursuing that direction (until I guess he decided to random hop backwards rather than continue that direction, as would be the only alternative to a pushoff). And committing penalties was part of their poor performance, refs didn't tell them to commit those 6 penalties. But like I said, give him that free TD, they still lose. It was 4 flags to 7, just the Steelers didn't commit theirs on as big of plays.
One guy regretting the two calls will never change that, and if people weren't absolute bags of shit and didn't send death threats over calls whether true or imagined, he'd have slept better..
