So I really hope that everybody did mature and learn from their past mistakes (maybe not Tarja´s husband/manager, but she still seems a nice person) and we get happy artists who like what they are doing and with whom they are playing. Sorry for this novel.
@@Shaakti86 Nightwish fans were bullying Anette? That is not a nice thing. I mean, even if you don't like her voice, you still can be polite and do not need to bully her on a personal level. She did well on some album tracks and can sing very good. I didn't know that some hardcore fans could go that far that the singer leaves the stage in tears. In the documentation "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" they spoke about an illness of Anette, did they mean her pregnancy? I mean thats not an illness, but could be uncomfortable because pregnant women have days during pregnancy when they don't feel well and it is more difficult if you have to perform live on stage. I didn't know that they planned with Floor as a plan B before the tour even started.
@@ralflukas9695 Yeah, there was bullying of Anette in the internet and there were people e.g. booing at concerts (just a few, but that´s enough). The videos of the Anette-era on UA-cam are mostly rather crappy, yet you can clearly hear, that she´s struggeling with Tarja-songs, some songs sound really terrible, especially shortly after joining. But how could anyone expect something else, she´s not classically trained. Tuomas wanted someone with a completely different voice, yet he did oversee, that the old songs mostly wouldn´t work well with Annette. Plus all this crap from firing Tarja, some people said from the beginning that they hate Anette. Thing is, if you really don´t like the singer of the band, then you probably should leave the band, which is what I did after "Dark Passion Play". "Amaranth" was quite poppy, but okay, "Bye Bye Beautiful" isn´t a bad song, either, yet I didn´t like the drama stuff. After Tarja I couldn´t get into Anette´s voice, so I did listen the album once and after that for years only "The Islander", around 2010 also "Master Passion Greed", basically the Marko-songs. So, I didn´t go to concerts and didn´t buy "Imaginaerum" (and did miss nice Marko-songs), just reading sporadicly about them, because I didn´t like Anette´s voice in parts of the songs, so I had the old stuff and was content enough. No need to bother and spit too much hate. After several years Anette got a bit better with the old songs, yet there still was straining (inside and out) as you can see in the documentary and in the body language of the whole band before the break. The illness was the flu, the pregnancy was just on top (I just say hormones). The problems between the bandmembers were there before she even got pregnant. Anette told them about the pregnancy and that she couldn´t complete the booked tour. I don´t know if she thought they would stop touring and tackle the problems with possible recompensation, nobody knows what people write into contracts. But I heard from another european band (medium known), that they had to pay for everything themselves for touring through South America as supporting act and because of that they only do tours through Europe nowadays (and about contractual stuff of some festivals). They are sad for their south american fans, but they have to pay their bills and rather use the money to make albums. Back to Anette. They knew about her pregnancy, but didn´t want to stop the tour (or there migth have been fines in the american contract, Americans can nearly sue everything), so they wanted to have a temporary maternity leave fill-in (Floor), yet Anette didn´t want another singer as temporary replacement. Especially someone of Floors caliber, because Anette knew that "fans" didn´t like her and Floor is well, just Floor. So, pride and fear on Anette´s side, not a good combination and pain for her, not an easy situation. With Epica this wasn´t a problem. When Simone fell ill for months in 2008 (I think nearly half a year) because of MRSA, they did cancel/postpone concerts, yet then brought in Amanda Somerville as a temporary singer replacement. But this was a different situation, as Amanda did work with the band before and was vocal coach for both Simone and Floor. Plus she´s married to Sander Gommans, former guitarist of After Forever. :D
Thanks for noticing the tremendous work by the drummer from Epica, Arien van Weesenbeek. ! He is amazing. Also, if you get a chance to just sit back and watch it again, look at the conductor rocking out, and the ladies in the choir too. Great reaction! :)
Eindhoven, Netherlands, 2013 ... it was an amazing experience to be there, to see the band, the orchestra, the choir, and of course, Simone and Floor on stage ... wow.... still today it is not easy to find the right words :)
I see you found another dutch goddess :D Awesome pick. Think you'll love some more Epica, Consign to Oblivion live at the Zenith seems to be fun with you guys
You need to watch their whole concert on this 10 years anniversary in 2013 and I hope too see them do their next anniversary in 2023. Bigger and better. Epica love;) 🖤🤘🖤🤘
Floor and Epic's lead guitarist Mark Jansen(not related to floor) where in a band Afterforever together. Mark was Dating Simone at the time. when afterforever split up Mark started Epica with Simone. They are not together anymore as a couple but are still good enough friends to be in a band. Simone was actually 3 months pregnant at the time of this concert.
Mark had left AF in 2002 to found a new band, After Forever disbanded in 2009. And now he is dating another vocalist from another band he helped to set up.
Cheers from Costa Rica. The singers are Simone Simons from Epica and Floor Jansen from Nightwish and ReVamp. I heard Simone here in Costa Rica in 2019 and she have a voice that can't be recorded. His voice is unique and the band in our country presented a beautiful setlist to listen to. I recommend listening to: Epica - Cry for the Moon Nightwish - Music, a piece from their latest album.
The beautiful readhead is Simone Simons, vocalist of Epica. Floor Jansen has been invited as a guest here. Both ladies are from the Netherlands (my country) :-)
It's always a joy to watch your reactions. Your expressions show how much you feel the music. Looking forward to more Nightwish. Peace. (I also liked your music videos 🤗)
They don't just look like they're friends, these two ladies have been best friends for a long time. They even lived together years ago. Her name is Simone Simons and she was pregnant during this performance. So much hair everywhere in this video! Gotta love it. lol
The lead singer of Epica is Simone Simmons , and is a soprano trained singer too like Floor. And in that concert guys was a little pregnant if you noticed . She never did extreme things and protected her belly. How lovely !
Great review you guys. I read once when Floor does those windmills, her hands are always on her hips. Some sort of safety thing that she does to prevent injury to herself.
I mentioned Epica in my post in the morning and it is here now. :-) Lovely. There are some clips from 2004, if you want to see how the band looked back in the day. And Retrospect is a great concert. From heavy to Disney.
Another awesome choice to react too! 🤘 Think about reacting to Epica "Phantom Agony, official live." Another out of this world production and amazing song. Love y'alls reactions!!
Floor's windmill game is in a world of its own! Great reaction as always guys! Definately check out some more Epica, Consign to Oblivion live at the Zenith, Paris is dope! 🤘
You're definitely right about the drummer. There's something about symphonic metal bands having great drummers; I think it's probably simple necessity considering the constant time changes etc.
I see absolutely everyone has identified Simone for you lolz of course. Great reaction guys, I never get tired of seeing professional musicians reactions to the songs I love. It’s so damn fun and interesting. Thanks again! Don’t worry about the necessary pauses, you time them well and everyone is aware of copyright rules of youtube, so please do carry on. 😁
Hey there you have also have to listen to Within Temptation, that's also a symphonic metal band and they are Dutch and their leadsinger Sharon den Adel and she has a beautiful angelic voice and you have to listen to Angels and also to their latest song Entertain You. They rock🤘🤘
can you imagine being in that orchestra and playing in this concert..LOL, I can only imagine what they are thinking.. this is actually an awsome song but you can never go wrong having Floor in the mix!!! great reactions you guys!!! !!don't know about you... but i wanted it to keep going and not stop!!!
The man who shouts "Floor Jansen" at the end with a growling voice is Mark Jansen (no family relation). Both he and Floor were together in a band called After Forever in the 90s/early 2000s until Mark quit the band due to creative differences. He went on to found Epica with his girlfriend at the time - Simone. Simone and Floor are close friends and have been for years - this is why they have such good chemistry on stage. Mark and Simone are no longer a couple, but they still work very well together. Simone is married with Oliver Polotai, the keyboards player of another metal band : Kamelot (in fact she was pregnant during this show which is why she didn't headbang as violently as Floor xD ) . Very early Epica (then named Sahara Dust) was in fact Kamelot's support band during their Epica tour (from their namesake album), and it is from Kamelot's Epica album title that the name of band comes from. Kamelot was the support band during Nightwish's 2012 Imaginaerum US tour, during which then-Nightwish-vocalist Anette Olzon fell ill minutes before their Denver show. Kamelot's session vocalists Elize Ryd and Alissa White-Gluz covered for Anette and the show went on while she was hospitalized. Nightwish's decision to go forward with the show upset Anette and she publicly criticized the band on her blog. This was the last straw in Anette's and Nightwish's already troubled relationship and days later, the band fired her, with Floor acting as her replacement for the remainder of the tour. We know the rest of the story. Elize Ryd was also considered by Nightwish as a vocalist - way back in 2005 when they fired their first vocalist, Tarja Turunen. They thought Elize was too young and inexperienced at the time and went with Anette instead. Elize went on to found her own band, Amaranthe. Unrelated to this, on their first album with Anette, Nightwish released a song titled Amaranth. Are your heads spinning yet? XD
You liked the drummer you said, check out "Cry for the moon" from the same show and you will have an nice time with drums. There is endless of good songs from Epica (which is my favourite symphonic metal band) few other songs you should check out from Epica is 'Sensorium' , 'unleashed' , 'sabat mater dolorosa' and 'the phantom agony' just to name few of them
Great reaction, guys. Thank you for the comments, as always, spot on. Another fun fact... A very high misconception with Epica guitarist Mark JANSEN and Floor... they are NOT related. Jansen just happens to be a very common last name in the Netherlands. Keep rockin'!! 😊❤🤘🤘
Simone is amazing...in her band and when featured with other artists (Kamelot in the Haunting). BUT....this performance shows how powerful Floor is. I notice a clear difference between the strength of the notes through all registers.
Simone simons... both dutch... proud🇳🇱🤘😎 Another dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation. Try the video Angels. Sharon den Andel self taught singer.
that creazy all in headbanning is used by death metal artists to repel muscle aches and can benefit the voice to make it sound more clearer if done right with relaxed neck and whiping youre head around totally relaxed makes such an awsome headspin
Simone and Floor are good friends and as far as I know, Simone had vocal coaching from Floor for a while. (Yes, Floor is a vocal coach to) But the chorus on that performance is just so great. You get the feeling, a horde of amazons will ride in any time and slay orks and demons. Love it!
If you were wowed by this orchestra, you should check Dimmu Borgir “Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse” live or “Mourning Palace” live. You will blow your load...
And again a super cool reaction video from both of you. I'm still waiting for a reaction from Nightwish, Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean, live Buenos Aires, i hope it comes soon because you 2 are the best when it comes to emotional reactions. Kind regards from the Netherlands.
Loved the reaction, this song never fails to impress. Please don’t stop with Epica here though, they are so much more than this song (as great as it is) and unfortunately many reactors never venture beyond Sancta Terra. As you can see from the comments, Design Your Universe or Consign to Oblivion are probably your best bets for a follow up.
Guys you need to check out Stabat Mater Delarosa from the same gig, as well as Consign To Oblivion live at the Zenith by Epica.... you won't be disappointed!!🤘💕
Now you do know with Floor from Nightwish and Simone Simons from Epica two of the great Dutch female symphonic metal singers. But there are still four! missing: Sharon den Adel from „Within Temptation“: „And we run feat. Xzibit“, „Angels“ or „Paradise feat. Tarja“ Charlotte Wessels from „Delain“: „Masters of Destiny“ or „Sing to me fest. Marco Hietala“ (from Nightwish) Anneke van Giersbergen in Duet with Sharon den Adel: Within Temptation „Somewhere“ (also with a full orchestra) Dianne van Giersbergen with Xandria: „Nightfall“.
Well, they got you on Epica… Nightwish, Epica, all you needs is some Within Temptation reactions and you'll complete the holy trinity of Symphonic Metal bands.
I would say Delain instead of Within Temptation. WT is heading too much to mainstream the past 10 years. Well it's maybe also matter of taste because I love Delain very much too they are top four for me. I like only the older work from WT.
She’s Simone Simons and is a close friend of Floor for years indeed. And Simone is not headbanging or windmilling cause she’s pregnant at that time. The one who’s shout out Floor’s name @ the end was Mark Jansen, a former band member and founder of After Forever (Floor’s first band she entered as background singer @ 16yo) No relationship between those two but coincidence carrying the same sure name.
Looks like a proper eargasm on both of you. Love how you two always smile. Thats why i keep on coming back. Love the reaction. Thank you guys. Been lissening to your music all day at work 😁 love it. Thanks again guys. AND i think its time for another Sabaton now isnt it?! ❤
If you want to see more of Floor enjoying singing with others check out Ayreon's Valley of the Queens from Universe - The Best of Ayreon Live, which she sings with two other symphonic metal singers, Anneke van Giersbergen (Dutch like Floor and Epica) and Marcela Bovio (Mexican). Totally different style but beautiful nonetheless.
Nightwish uses orchestra and choir too. They just can't take them with them on world tour. So the choir and orchestra make backing tracks for them. I think Epica usually does the same.
1- *FLOOR JANSEN* started with "AFTER FOREVER" It was a great band 2- *SIMONE SIMONS* started with "EPICA" 3- *TARJA TURUNEN* was the first singer of "NIGHTWISH" she was great too.
Okay everyone is in agreement that the ENTIRE concert was amazing! however....the best part is when Simone said that the drummer, Arien, "has a battery up his ass" because he is so energetic :P
Two dutch godesses Floor jansen and simone simons.when they sing the angels are jealous.and simone was 3 months pregnant on this one.they are best friends for many years .
Epica "Design Your Universe" from this same concert is excellent.
and "Chasing the Dragon"!
SIGHHHHHHHH ....pure magic ..GREAT REACTION GUYS !!!
Next stop on the Symphonic Metal Train, Epica: Consign to Oblivion live at the Zenith in Paris. Love you guys Cheers
Susi....since you're into drummers, check out Nightwish doing "Everdream", from the Walken 2013 show.....
You need to watch their whole concert on this 10 years anniversary in 2013 and I hope too see them do their next anniversary in 2023. Bigger and better. Epica love;) 🖤🤘🖤🤘
U guys just saw one of Wonder Duets !! Glad to watch u reacted again, And hope to hear new songs from wolf hunterz soon too !! Fighting !!
After Forever split up officially in 2009. Mark left the band in 2002 because of creative differences (official version) and founded Epica .
@@nick74bul Unofficially from the end of 2007 or so.
@@Immortall1408 Yep.. 2007 was the last tour and nothing after it..
Yeah, Thanks Chris. I always think they are talking to me, when you recommend a video. :)
This video hasn’t even started yet. I’ve seen this video on several reactions and I swear to Jesus-it NEVER gets OLD!! Y’all are so fun.
I recommend listening to:
Epica - Cry for the Moon
Nightwish - Music, a piece from their latest album.
Peace. (I also liked your music videos 🤗)
they both are good friends because they share the same vocal coach
Awesome pick Chris. Thank you for requesting this song. You rock Brother! :-)
Want more Epica react to Consign to Oblivion Live at the Zenith. It will probably surprise you.
Retrospect is the best show going, much heavier and more dramatic stuff than this to come
They don't just look like they're friends, these two ladies have been best friends for a long time.
This is one of the best rock performance in modern times
Great chemistry, no one-upwomaning one another, pure affection. Great perfomances by all.
Another awesome choice to react too! 🤘 Think about reacting to Epica "Phantom Agony, official live." Another out of this world production and amazing song. Love y'alls reactions!!
This is just one great song from a three-hour performance. The entire concert is a masterpiece!
Floor's windmill game is in a world of its own!
Great reaction as always guys!
Definately check out some more Epica, Consign to Oblivion live at the Zenith, Paris is dope! 🤘
PS, it's dope because they get the crowd to do a death wall at the beginning 👌
blew me away.. get it lol
@@samantha6493 no it's not only dope because of the death wall. It's dope because it is a Masterpiece!!!
You will notice that she always has her hands on her hips when she does this. It creates stability and helps to protect her neck.
@@fritsyt2090 I wasn't implying that's the only reason, just one of many!
They made it an EPIC performance!❤
Definitely should react to Consign to Oblivion by Epica that's their best live song
Yes the Live at Zenit version
Yes, definitely the live version at Zenith.
And then, there is "Dancing in a Hurricane" from the same concert.
I love everything from Epica. They are my #1 for sure 😀
Loved the reaction. Thanks for this one.
Epica - Consign to Oblivion - Zenith/Paris... It's from another world.
Hey there you have also have to listen to Within Temptation, that's also a symphonic metal band and they are Dutch and their leadsinger Sharon den Adel and she has a beautiful angelic voice and you have to listen to Angels and also to their latest song Entertain You. They rock🤘🤘
Sancta Terra = "Sacred Ground ( or land )" in Latin.......shoutout to the choir.........
can you imagine being in that orchestra and playing in this concert..LOL, I can only imagine what they are thinking.. this is actually an awsome song but you can never go wrong having Floor in the mix!!! great reactions you guys!!! !!don't know about you... but i wanted it to keep going and not stop!!!
Great reaction video to both of you! Paece.
All kinda crazy musicians in europe :)
To amazingly awesome Valkerie Goddesses!!!
XD
Simone Simons and Floor Jansen singing together is unbelievable
That yell at the end was Mark. In Stabat Floor sings Alto and Simone Soprano
I am so happy I have gotten to know your music through this channel! You're awesome!
They were not lying when they named the band Epica...react to Unleashed!
You liked the drummer you said, check out "Cry for the moon" from the same show and you will have an nice time with drums. There is endless of good songs from Epica (which is my favourite symphonic metal band) few other songs you should check out from Epica is 'Sensorium' , 'unleashed' , 'sabat mater dolorosa' and 'the phantom agony' just to name few of them
I have seen Simone and Floor live on stage singer together and both of them blew me away
I really enjoy your reactions!!Keep doing it
My favorite song by Epica is... EPICA - In All Conscience (EPIC METAL FEST Aftermovie)
Simone simons... both dutch... proud🇳🇱🤘😎
Another dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation.
(Yes, Floor is a vocal coach to)
But the chorus on that performance is just so great. You get the feeling, a horde of amazons will ride in any time and slay orks and demons. Love it!
ORCHESTRA..CHORUS.. vocals classics/guturals ...100 % metal symphonic ...EPICA/NIGHTWISH SIMONE SIMONS/FLOOR JANSEN...GREAT BANDS ,VOCALS ...AND FRIENDS!!!
Epica - design your univers live retrospect
Same concert and greate ending of a 3+houer preformenc 🤟😁
If you were wowed by this orchestra, you should check Dimmu Borgir “Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse” live or “Mourning Palace” live. You will blow your load...
and that is Called Symphony Metal
The orchestra and choir make them Epic that's why they are called Epica
Your reaction looked like a Simonetaneous Floorgasm!! ;-)
And again a super cool reaction video from both of you.
I'm still waiting for a reaction from Nightwish, Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean, live Buenos Aires, i hope it comes soon because you 2 are the best when it comes to emotional reactions.
Kind regards from the Netherlands.
thank you! there are so many songs and bands its hard to keep up lol!
You have to watch the entire concert. It is almost 3 hrs. long. It is one of the best concerts ever.
But there are still four! missing:
Sharon den Adel from „Within Temptation“: „And we run feat. Xzibit“, „Angels“ or „Paradise feat. Tarja“
Charlotte Wessels from „Delain“: „Masters of Destiny“ or „Sing to me fest. Marco Hietala“ (from Nightwish)
Anneke van Giersbergen in Duet with Sharon den Adel: Within Temptation „Somewhere“ (also with a full orchestra)
Dianne van Giersbergen with Xandria: „Nightfall“.
the female singer for Epica is Simone Simons and just love her mic stand it's a big S
The way Floor headbangs at the end is called the windmill :D You should listen to more Epica, it's good for the soul ;-)
Doing a great job guys, as a few people have said ,check out consign to oblivion live at zenith 🤘
Good job!
More Epica, please.
Live, with orchestra and choir.
Simone Simons from Epica is a good friend of Floor, they used to live togehter too (on college I believe).
You've got to react to “Yours is an empty hope" one of the heaviest stuff by Nightwish. Go and check it out!
Absolutely they must. Wembley-2015.
you must lissen to "ReVamp - Disdain Live at Graspop 2010" the second band of Floor.
Love you guys!
1- *FLOOR JANSEN* started with "AFTER FOREVER" It was a great band
2- *SIMONE SIMONS* started with "EPICA"
3- *TARJA TURUNEN* was the first singer of "NIGHTWISH" she was great too.
By the way the founder of epica is mark jansen who is in after forever with floor and after forever toured with nightwish and simone is married with oliver palotai keyboardist of kamelot and floor is married with hannes van dahl drummer of sabaton , all the bands are linked for that
U guys should check "Yours is an empty hope" from Nightwish! Awesome! Btw - nice Video again!
Epica singer is Simone Simons and yes Floor and Simone have been friends for awhile
Epica......perfect name!!!!!
