    You got that put together pretty quickly. Im jealous of that header fitment. Just dropping long tubes in with the motor in place is insane.

    did you need to upgrade your fuel pump as well for the cam on the ly6?

    • @bought2build
      @bought2build  5 днів тому +1

      @@inspectz13 I haven’t upgraded it yet but the truck was originally a flex fuel truck so we are using the injectors from the 5.3l that was in it because they are actually bigger than the stock ly6 injectors I think we will have plenty of fuel pump but I just got our first tune file from EDGTUNED tonight so tomorrow we will fire it up and actually let it run and work towards getting it on the street and I will keep everyone updated on anything we need to change including the fuel pump if we run into any issues! Great content brother 🤙🏽How much for the same process. I have a 6.0 2500hd Silverado would like to get the same cam n lift swap. Would you know how much the labor would be ?

    • @bought2build
      @bought2build  7 днів тому +1

      @@Chevywhoopwhoop thank you for checking out the channel I appreciate the support! And honestly I am not sure how much labor would be would all depend on what exactly you chose to do the parts for cam kit will be somewhere around 12-1300 and then any other miscellaneous things you would run into add up a little bit too but if you need the cam kit reach out to EDGTUNED and tell him you want the BOUGHT2BUILD truck Norris cam package and he will get you taken care of for parts 👍👍🤟🤟🤟🤟👍👍👍👍👍

      @@kobehargest we threw the stock pushrods back in it tbh. I’ve seen people take this cam and the NSR version of this cam and change absolutely nothing didn’t even pull the heads throw it in and go is it a good idea to measure for new pushrods sure will it be fine as it is for what it is also sure lol thanks for checking out the channel I appreciate the support 🤟🤟🤟🤟👍👍👍👍

    If this is a stupid question my apologies, but way 10w40 and zinc ? And why not 5w30

    • @bought2build
      @bought2build  7 днів тому +2

      @@mannysolis4588 not a stupid question it comes down to personal preference I just prefer a 10w40 especially in our higher millage stuff and the zinc because in the right amounts it has great anti wear properties but that can go both ways as well to much of a good thing can also be bad but that is just what I prefer especially with new cams or other wear parts I like to add a little extra zinc but most modern engine oils would suffice just fine on their own so all personal preference run what you are comfortable with! I wouldn't care about chop at idle it's good this cam with a 3000rpm stall should be pretty strong from 3000rpm up the new engine is making more horsepower and torque with the 4 inch bore than the 5.3 did 4000rpm up its going to be much better than the 5 3

    • @bought2build
      @bought2build  4 дні тому

      @@gloriamaletta8667 the new engine is definitely making more power all around bigger bore better flowing heads and intake manifold as well as adding headers and a true tune it would be running a lot stronger anyway the cam is just an added bonus! @bought2build it's the perfect cam for a heavy truck torque will be good 2500rpm-6000rpm you don't want a sluggish over cammed heavy truck torque with the stock 5.3 drops sharply by 5000rpm the wide torque band with this cam is great choice for 6.0 ,6.2 in a Tahoe or Silverado

      @ great to know! Honestly I picked this cam for the original 5.3L before i decided we were putting the LY6 in I wasn’t sure how it would work out with the rec port setup obviously it would work but I didn’t know how well so I am curious to see what the power curve is like with it might put it on my buddy’s dyno at some point just to see how it acts!
