Let’s congratulate all the amazing musicians in this video! I'm a guitar teacher at School of Rock Pedregal here in Mexico city. It was a nice surprise watching this video. Teaching here is by far the best job I've ever had. I love going to teach and direct some rehearsals also. School of Rock changed my life and I'm grateful for that.
It's a no brainer, it's basically a performing arts school for rock n roll musicians. I'm in my 60s I would've loved to attend a school like this, we kind of did the same thing in the 70s except it was in garages. On the weekends we'd open the garage door and give free concerts until someone eventually would ask us to play somewhere... Luckily I grew up in an area where we could see Van Halen playing backyard parties, being only a few feet in front of Eddie was inspirational to say the least.
@@petepuma-e7f 90% of their programs are for kids. Depending on how big the urban area is, there may not be an adult camp. But call them up and ask them if they have an adult camp coming up! You won't regret it! Attendees will vary greatly. Some are 19 year olds who just aged out of their kids program and have been attending since they were 8. Others are old 60 year olds who just started playing last year. You will get all kinds. But just like they do for their kids program, they piece it all together and make it work. People make mistakes and it's ok. Others are just way too good to be there, but they play anyway. :)
I love you did this. Getting kids into the arts is very important and dear to me as an artist myself. I didn’t realize that they were a franchise until now. Thank you so much for sharing I am now going to look into opening my own school of rock franchise. Keep shredding 🤘🏽
School of rock Roseville student, my houseband went on tour to Nashville and we played a couple gigs with them! You should TOTALLY franchise one. Would be badass! Shoutout Ben on that dope PRS custom
I have been with School of Rock for 8 years, and I am now a School of Rock Allstar, which allowed me to go on a 10 day tour in California with some of the best teen musicians I have ever met. Being in the School of Rock programs has been life changing for me, and has really shown me how to play in bands, interact with other musicians of all ages, and learn how to develop as a person. I know so many people who have decided that they want to go into music careers, including myself, during or following their School of Rock experience. I strongly recommend joining a program at any age.
I started school of rock just a few months ago and I absolutely love it. The staff is incredible and they're all genuine musicians who are in bands, and I get to play with these incredibly talented kids my age who are just as passionate about music as I am, which is really cool.
I actually used to work at the School Of Rock in Nash it’s such a good way for music to be taught. Genuinely an amazing place and I think you’d be a good fit!
I was a teacher for almost 2 years in Park Ridge IL's SoR. Extremely rewarding. It was so awesome seeing kids jamming and enjoying songs older than me with the same love and passion I had at their age.
I am a student at the school of rock in york pa. We just celebrated our one year anniversary. You should definitely it would be such an experience for both you and the next generation of musicians
I am in a nonprofit organization called UBACE that is kind of like school of rock but free and I love the support and having people to play with every week.
I can't say enough about School of Rock. It was foundational for 3 of my daughters and my self.Fundamentally, the way theory, technique, and performance are weaved together are intrinsic. Additionally, being in an ensemble creates an atmosphere of joint accountability that drives students to put in the work. No one wants to show up at rehearsal unprepared. There are so many life skills that kids learn in this program that transcend music. Being closely involved in School of Rock for 10 years, it was fascinating to watch troubled kids get involved in music and witness how the other aspects of their life transformed. They became more confident; made new friends; improved in their studies; and learned very useful life skills that are not taught in school. For me personally, the adult program helped me fulfill the desire I have had all my life to be a musician. I learned guitar, and bass, which is now my instrument. I got to be a member of a great band as a spinoff of my time at the school. If you want to get your kids into music, this is the place to start.
Ben Fisher is an amazing guitarist with a killer tone. He made that Strat sing. He is at a level way beyond his years. All I can say is; "Look out Buk. You have a young man gunning for your job". What a great future he has as does all the musicians that were involved. Rock On!!!!!!!
13:47 when Tyler gets the feedback swell going....other guitarist is thinking "oh hell yes!" ....I know that feeling too well when playing with more experienced players. It's awesome!
i worked for school of rock Indy for 4 month. I genuinly wish i was still teaching there, it grew me up and created a passion for teaching (my first official teaching position). The Company owner is a great guy also. got to meet him at a few company outings!
I used to go to alice coopers solid rock so not really the exact same. But the same idea. It was legit, man. I feel like they all had different talents and it was really cool to see that in action. Love your vids man! Can't wait to see more!
The concept of School or Rock or for that matter music schools that specialize in teaching how to play rock and roll (there are several around the country) is such an amazing concept. How I wish I had something like that when I was a kid (honestly so much better than going for piano classes) - cause u get to learn an instrument and have fun at the same time. My daughter just loves playing in a band (and they're all under 13). I mean she almost immediately gave up her piano classes for this. You got to give it to the teachers at these music schools who work so hard to get the kids to this level....shoutout to each and every one of them! There are several that teach not just rock but jazz as well..
I did a School of Rock adult camp about two years ago. Loved it! It's the experience of being in a band, without any of the hassles of finding members, and booking gigs. I just kept doing the lessons part. They have good guitar teachers!
I was a member of School Of Rock from the age of 14-18, was in the house band and traveled to Milwaukee to do summerfest and to North Carolina for the New Moon Camp and now I teach there and while I was a student and I grew older, I saw some flaws in the system. Like, students who do the programs don’t grow as much as maybe they would if they were in individual lessons and just doing that. If they were already playing before hand like myself, I notice that they learn things quicker and generally care about the music more. As something fun for kids to do though, it’s great fun, but the instructors at the location I went to had pretty big egos and thought they had a bit more control over the students than they maybe actually do.
Thank you Tyler. You’ve peeked my interest. I’m checking into being a franchisee, which I’ve always had an interest. I used your link. As an aside, I was friends with Kevin Clark, the drummer in the movie. Dec. 3rd was his 36th birthday.

(Retrospectively, I would've still rather have had my own guitar teacher, but there should be at least one dedicated bass teacher). - Parents of students pushed the school to allow their child into the house band after they were already rejected for the program. The school went on to allow them into the house band. - Most people in the house band were between 13 - 15. Younger people in house band meant less drivers that can help with bringing equipment. - The prices for the lesson + performance program package nearly doubled from 2020 to 2022. - Each season only had at most one challenging performance program if there even was one. The two hardest that were available in my time there were Big 4 of Thrash, and Iron Maiden vs. Judas Priest. To clarify, School of Rock was still a very positive experience for me and I still am an active bass player. All the students and instructors are wonderful people. The big issue with the franchise that I went to was the poor management.
I love this! Especially for generation Z. I truly believe this is therapeutic for the COVID generation and gives me hope for the future of rock music and the music industry's future in general. Thanks for this video.
I hope someone is advising these young musicians about hearing protection. For too many years I didn't care, and now have a lot of trouble comprehending what others are saying to me - even with hearing aids.
you should check out rock camp in Austin, tx. i did it for a few summers and genuinely it was the most fun and rewarding thing I could've done as a teen and I grew a ton as a musician and a person getting to play with people my age and all my instructors. it's a local program out of the austin school of music, not a chain and they're awesome :D
SOR was a great experience for my daughter a few years ago. Only feedback I have from several parents, it was more fun before they made house band. Pressure to do basically free (marketing) gigs gets a bit tiresome over time.
I go to school of rock and I think you’d be a great owner. At ours the owner also gives lessons and that’s what I think you should do. He also has a bunch of money I think.
Just a question. If I am not close to a school of rock, does it mean I cannot use the app? It seems that you do need that weekly private lesson for the app to work. I want to learn to play guitar beyond the five basic chords I know, but cannot access my closest school of rock franchise, which is 50 miles away
One thing that needs to be mentioned is the COST of going to the School of Rock. If your not committed or feel like putting in minimal effort is enough, don't waste your money. It's a program that needs to have committed people because I kid you not that the live performances are no joke.
so I feel like if the movie School of Rock came out today, it would heavily feature music from the 90s and 2000s. The kids would be trying to bring Emo back.
I’m a student at school of rock Cornelius in North Carolina, and it’s the best thing ever! I’m in the house band, and we’re doing a whole bunch of Christmas shows. If you want to see some live music, it’s at OTPH on the 21st!
SoR is the hardest job I've ever tried to get😂. If you aren't part of the inside circle of their group, you won't get a chance to teach. Even if you offer to tutor for free.. So, i keep teaching private lessons. 😂 It would be so fun to teach kids - not just to play an instrument, but how to be a musician and play with others.
When I got back into playing bass, I went to school of rock specifically because I wanted the live playing aspect. My only complaint with it is the system is very much geared around the live playing and anything other than learning the songs isn't gone into as deep as I wanted (I really wanted to focus on theory, but it felt like it was getting pushed to the side). As an adult student, the system is clearly geared to the teen students, but it was still a very good experience. And please tell me those kids were wearing ear protection. It looked like a few of them weren't, but I'm hoping they were just wearing low profile plugs.
Only thing that sucks for me was the price bc i had to pay for myself and my local SOR wanted close to 50$ per lesson when i found a place that did the same for around 30$ per lesson
Should you buy a franchise? After seeing three franchises pass through the SLC School of Rock, I have some advice. - Focus on the program. The SoR program has intrinsic value and you can market that. - Be sure to make a big space for kids that are pushing the boundaries of the program. Let advanced kids be in multiple shows. Encourage kids to try out for house band. - This is the hard part: venues. Whether it's seasonal shows or opportunities for the house band, make sure you have the best venues you can arrange. - The house band is your best marketing tool. Amp up their exposure as much as possible. - If you have an adult program, that's another marketing tool. Book gigs for them too.
Hello to mr. Tyler or everyone reading this, I am an aspiring guitarist and I recently bought the guitar super system. So far, I did some of the lessons like the music theory level 1 where I practice rhythm using a metronome. Now my problem is that, I don't know where I should go next. I want to learn more and progress as a guitarist but I don't really know what step/exercises or routine should I do so I could learn more. So to anyone who replies, can y'all give me some tips or videos you watched that helped you progress? Thank you so much have a great day.
I'm still waiting for the gen Z rock band or star to inspire gen Z to fall in love with rock music again and resurrect the genre back to life. This school could be the seed that produces that band.
love from nepal. i am a beginner guitarist and i have learn some of the songs in acoustic guitar but i want to learn in electric guitar which i cant afford it because i am a student so i want you to help me. hope you reply.
Let’s congratulate all the amazing musicians in this video!

I'm 61 and I did a School of Rock adult camp about two years ago! Awesome experience! You should do one! :)
Really! I thought it was just for kids. Cool I'll look into it

It was such a blast playing with you at the CMHOF!!! Didn’t get a chance to say what a huge fan I am!

The kid that sang Schism has a really good voice
No joke!! That was insane!
I scrolled down here to say the same!

This is definitely the best video you've made thus far, Tyler. More like this bro.
Every single one of those kids played so well! This was a great video, thanks for giving them a platform, Tyler!

Awsome tyler, just pure awesomeness on supporting this school of rock program.
This just made me feel warm and fuzzy, The kids do indeed got this"!
Man all those kids are really really good! Great video! ✌️❤️
So we all agree Tyler would be an amazing teacher at the school of rock

just AWESOME! sounded great, made the hair on my arms stand up!
I’m a student at School of Rock Goodyear, Arizona; and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done guitar wise 😊
The 'Schism' performance was great.
I’m in school of rock house band and my teacher recommended all stars to me last week it’s awesome
13:47 when Tyler gets the feedback swell going....other guitarist is thinking "oh hell yes!" ....I know that feeling too well when playing with more experienced players. It's awesome!
I work at the school of rock in Philadelphia after being a student there for 5 years. It’s such a great program.
I’m a student at the Easton PA school!
i worked for school of rock Indy for 4 month. I genuinly wish i was still teaching there, it grew me up and created a passion for teaching (my first official teaching position). The Company owner is a great guy also. got to meet him at a few company outings!
So unbelievably proud of our students!! 🤘
You absolutely should. My 9 yr old daughter is enrolled in school of rock in Beaver Creek Ohio. Fantastic people here, good vibes.
We have three School of Rock locations in the Memphis area. They all appear to be thriving.
Love it. Mic Trainer would be a perfect partnership!
yes you should definitely go for it if you can!!!
I used to go to alice coopers solid rock so not really the exact same. But the same idea. It was legit, man. I feel like they all had different talents and it was really cool to see that in action. Love your vids man! Can't wait to see more!

I’m a school of rock bass student from Pennsylvania, I love it so much
I’m in the adult band at my local school of rock, and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. If you’re interested at all, do it!
I was a member of School Of Rock from the age of 14-18, was in the house band and traveled to Milwaukee to do summerfest and to North Carolina for the New Moon Camp and now I teach there and while I was a student and I grew older, I saw some flaws in the system. I was a music director for a School of Rock for 5 years. Amazing times.
man that kid ripped on voodoo chile. nice job Ben!
Monster!!!
looked really nice lots of fun
Thank you Tyler. You’ve peeked my interest. I’m checking into being a franchisee, which I’ve always had an interest. I used your link. As an aside, I was friends with Kevin Clark, the drummer in the movie. Dec. 3rd was his 36th birthday.
Looks like an amazing concept, would love to see them expand to other countries
There's a ton in Brazil and few across Europe, I was in the houseband for one of the ones in Spain up until last year.
There are a ton in Brazil where I live
its great to see young people so interested in playing music these days
I don't have the funds to run a franchise, but I had a local SoR play our neighborhood fall festival. They were awesome and I'm definitely inviting them next year!
I recently made it in to the rock band at my high school making it was really interesting and fun to watch this. 😄
School of Rock gives me hope for the next generation of instrumentalists and singers
I live in an area of the Northeast of England that spawned such greats as Brian Johnson (ACDC), Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits), Sting (The Police), Hank Marvin (The Shaddows), and the Animals, all within 20 miles of where I live. We desperately need something like this in the area, as music is pretty much non-existent with kids now.

Not just in the elation that comes from performing onstage, but the bonds they make with their fellow bandmates as well.
damn those kids can play!
i wish it was in my country too
Great video.
Do it! Do it now ❤
I love school of rock and is how I really got into bass guitar. I started at thirteen and left 'prematurely' at 16. I'm forever grateful for the experience. Although not all schools of rocks are built equal.

I was at that school of rock in Mt juilet, i would say it would be a great investment, i enjoyed SoR alot.
I hope someone is advising these young musicians about hearing protection. For too many years I didn't care, and now have a lot of trouble comprehending what others are saying to me - even with hearing aids.
we sure do!
I would have loved this as a kid ❤❤❤❤and would love to bring this to Rochester NY ❤🌹🤘🎸🧬🎶💯
I would have loved school of rock when I was a kid
you should check out rock camp in Austin, tx. i did it for a few summers and genuinely it was the most fun and rewarding thing I could've done as a teen and I grew a ton as a musician and a person getting to play with people my age and all my instructors. it's a local program out of the austin school of music, not a chain and they're awesome :D
Excelente! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You should totally do that one day after you learn to play
Kidding 🤘😂
I wish this existed in the 90s when I was taking guitar lessons
I've given guitars and gifts to music for kids. I see my Breedlove guitar at church on Sunday's.
Yes
Wish I had a local School of Rock growing up.

I want to learn to play guitar beyond the five basic chords I know, but cannot access my closest school of rock franchise, which is 50 miles away
You can take remote lessons.
Good to see kids actually doing something constructive instead of losing precious brain cells to stupid devices with screens.
One thing that needs to be mentioned is the COST of going to the School of Rock. If your not committed or feel like putting in minimal effort is enough, don't waste your money. It's a program that needs to have committed people because I kid you not that the live performances are no joke.
I looked into lessons at the local one, it was more than I payed in rent when I first moved out.
lol yea. It’s a cool program but it’s expensive af
What kind of high schooler has a prs core guitar?
age doesn't matter, its the skill
That's 1 dumb question....
It might belong to the school; could be on loan, won in a raffle, gifted, inherited.
It doesn’t matter and why do you care?
A kid set up to win - but , also , fall farther than any of us ever could if he doesn't . They face the same 99% fate the rest of us do .
Better instruments are more inspiring to play. Would you rather learn on that guitar or a beat up pawn shop guitar that barely works?
so I feel like if the movie School of Rock came out today, it would heavily feature music from the 90s and 2000s.
The kids would be trying to bring Emo back.

Sooooooooo badass
I'm part of similar thing but we're called let there be rock school
That girl singing Voodoo Child NEEDS to do a cover of Zombie by The Cranberries.
I'm still waiting for the gen Z rock band or star to inspire gen Z to fall in love with rock music again and resurrect the genre back to life. This school could be the seed that produces that band.
I have come so close...
Yes you should .
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
There are other similar franchises out there. If you are serious I would look at Rockstars of Tomorrow
Why was he using an ES-335? I assumed he would be using a pointy guitar with the youngers.
We looked in to the one around us and the cost was just way too high. Seems like a really great program though.
@MaxQuagmire-u3r Oh I get it, but when you have 4 kids and three are musicians, makes it difficult. :) Maybe some day!
They can time themselves. Plays Tool Song. What's timing?
Buy two! You never know if one breaks.
