    Mexicans have been using Nopales for more than a millennium and I'm just getting to know about it? How is this fair? Lol. Nopales is a wonderful ingredient to add to dishes. There are several methods to prepare this awesome cactus. Today, i decided to use Nopales as one of the main ingredients in my Salsa (sauce). I love its texture. It's smooth and soft and it tastes a little like cooked string beans or cooked green pepper. They're packed with vitamin C and other vitamins.
    Nopales protect themselves with really sharp thorns... I guess they don't like to be bothered. I would do the same if I was that nutritious. I think they know Vegans are attracted to anything green. Anyway, be sure to wear protective gear when harvesting or preparing these bad boys. They won't hesitate to poke you. In this video, I listed out ways to properly handle Nopales in the kitchen. There are probably other methods, but that's all I've got... sorry. I decided to try my Nopales and Salsa with some Pasta and the result blew my socks off. I'm still searching for them. It was so good, I couldn't stop eating. Gained like 5 pounds from that one recipe.
    On a more serious note, please make this recipe and let me know what you think about it. I'll love to hear from people who actually made it. No lying. I'll catch you if you lie. Let me know in the comments section when you found out about Nopales. I couldn't believe they were edible until I actually made them. I'll be using them a lot this Summer. I can't wait! If you enjoyed this video, don't forget to subscribe to my channel and don't forget to hit that like button. Share this with your friends, family, and Bosses lol. I'll see you all next week!

    This is spiritual cooking. I don’t care what anyone says. It’s the ambiance of the scenery. The lighting. The properly tuned music. The delicate sound of his voice. The quickness of the video but yet doesn’t feel rushed. The camera angles. Then the cooking. Great job brother. Your videos bring me balance of peace

    Great video also to note that Slime you call from the Nopal cactus is actually Mucilage. Mucliage is extremely useful for the body to store Water for your cells and it's also natural insulin for people who diabetes type 1.

      No worries at all. We're all busy. The thorns are very pointy and could easily poke you in multiple places at once. Nothing happens outside of possible bleeding/injury. They should not be eaten.
      Yes, I do everything, including editing, myself (no outsourcing). I do have a wonderful associate who is part of my two-person team. My associate helps operate one of my cameras. My videos would be nothing without the help I get. Don't worry, I will reveal everything in due time. For now, I want to focus on the food. Thank you for your support Quinea!

    Hello new subscriber here, hope you having a wonderful day. Mexican food is my comfort food and some of my favorite are mole (a famous sauce in Mexico top with chicken and side rice), tamales, buñuelos and too many to name. I was wondering will you make Mexican dishes to alkaline soon or later?

    • @Grubanny
      @Grubanny  2 роки тому +5

      Hi Mica, thanks for subscribing! Yes, my day is going alright. Taking some time to catch up on life since I just uploaded a video lol. Someone already requested tamales and moles. They're on my list. I need to work on/create the Alkaline recipes. It will be a while, though, since I have a lot more lined up. Stay tuned.
