- Bugger me this little piece was chock full of the good stuff. So satisfying finding pure copper windings and not the cheap copper coated aluminium windings. A huge haul today for the stack and a heap of fun pours so sit back relax and enjoy the extra long video . And have an unbelievably awesome day!!
Now if you Feel like supporting the channel it wont cost you a cent and that is to play one of my playlists on your computer before you walk away from it and let it play through that really helps as ads will play and watch time will go up . HOW I MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it.

Scrapyard Bullion Bars - Copper Brass Aluminum - ASMR Metal Melting - Trash To Treasure - BigStackD - Розваги
As I say in the vid today, thanks to all you awesome People for your continual support I really appreciate it and you guys and gals are the best. Now Today an awesome haul for the stack plenty of copper brass and Aluminium. So sit back relax. Enjoy the video and I can’t wait to see you all in next Fridays video.👋🏻😁
Hi, @5:57 this are condensers.... be very carefull with this, ok, this ones are old, but in general, this stuff can be lethal
When’s the 1000kg motor melt that you tease us with in the background 🥺
I just purchased my first devil forge.i will do first light this Saturday. It's a 10 kilo. My question for you is , what MPa do you use for copper and aluminum?
More big electric scrap
@johnnykerley4791 -----
REGULATOR SET POINT and adjustments
0.12MPa Copper
0.10MPa Brass / Bronzes
0.08MPa Aluminium
I set the regulator at 0.10MPa for brass and when it gets up closer to its melting point I backed the furnace off to 0.08MPa or even lower to make sure I don’t accidentally overheat the brass and burn off the zinc.
Perfect ASMR and sleep-in content.
No talking, no weird shit, just relaxing content.
I'm not an electrician, but I played one in the Navy (no degree or tradesman's rank, is what I mean) - those look like capacitors. And once you showed the label on the side, it confirmed it. The "uF" is microfarads which is the SI symbol and measurement for capacitance. So just to be safe, I did a quick search and found other similar ones that I can't post a link to here due to YT spam-filters, but they're out there. :) No drop bears today. Just drop-capacitors!
Also, those super thin copper bar pours are just doin' it for me. Eye pleasing and soul quenching! Love it!
There were so Drop Bears today and they were near the start of the Video.
I caught the microFarad label too. Definitely capacitors of some type. You probably know more about them than me, but I recognized the shape and the unit from all of Backyard Scientist's giant capacitor bank experiments.
Yeah - 8 micro-Ferads, 440V. Those could fetch some beer money on ebay.
@@robertsnowdon6932 - From Wiki: The drop bear (sometimes dropbear) is a hoax in contemporary Australian folklore featuring a predatory, carnivorous version of the koala. This imaginary animal is commonly spoken about in tall tales designed to scare tourists. While koalas are typically docile herbivores (and are not bears), drop bears are described as unusually large and vicious marsupials that inhabit treetops and attack unsuspecting people (or other prey) that walk beneath them by dropping onto their heads from above
Looks to be ganged together to make one big capacitor.
You know it's a good video when 0:01 in and you see a clean copper pour
We need to get a petition started to outlaw flathead screws worldwide.
As well Poz drives make all screws a Allan key type then you would get a all round purchase on the screw
I think square headed screws should also be banned
AMEN
They know what they've done.
But, and hear me out, they're the screw that you're least likely to strip. While I hate them too, I think they're really good
It’s Friday late morning, and I’m on my break. what a great way to break up my day by starting this video :). I’ll be watching bits of it throughout my work day, and be done before I head back home.
Always an awesome way to be reminded it’s Friday :). It has become a personal tradition now. Friday? BigstackD video to start yet another great weekend :).
I’m also loving the nighttime copper pours! The bright red hot colors are so cool!
Again, a big thank you to our best Aussie friend BigStackD for taking the time to make these videos for us!
I love the copper melts so much, especially the green fire 😮
5:54. To answer your question. (12 year ac tradesman). Capacitors. Usually filled with mineral oil and I think wax paper with some kind of metal. Not 100% sure on what metal but 100% mineral oil in each. Also, thank you for making vids. Keep up the great work. Respect.
Thankfully they have the discharge resistor across the terminals to keep them safe. Without that, those can keep a charge almost forever and could be dangerous in the wrong situation.
The capacitors appear to be 3 x 8 uF in parallel which is 24 uF at a 440V rating and could give you a bit of a surprise if not discharged. The resistor is a 6.8K (blue - 6, grey - 8, red - x100 = 6800 = 6.8k) probably a 2 watt (hard to tell exactly) which is to slowly discharge the capacitors once power is removed.
From what I could dig up, the Ducon GPM series is a paper-electrolyte capacitor so apart from the can, there's likely no melt-ables inside and may even possibly contain PCB ( polychlorinated biphenyls) so best leave them intact.
www.nepc.gov.au/sites/default/files/2022-09/anzecc-gl-identification-pcb-containing-capacitors-information-booklet-electricians-and-electrical.pdf
Little doggo always makes me laugh how he always rubs his junk all over the outside rug 😂🐾
i think it would be fun to watch if you find an old enigine from a car. A complete one, take it appart, starter, dynamo, alu head, and maybe alu block, and melt and mix everything that melts. See what comes from that.
Bullion *is* speed!
Ingot is just adorable.
I cannot thank you enough for ditching the hot rod sounds when you drive. Thank you thank you.
No problems mate it will come back in to play but only to annoy my friends. it won’t ever come back again with any more Can crushing. I can guarantee you that.
I had quite a few comments about people saying I should’ve left it out which is completely right. I just put it all together and then didn’t even think to delete the sound, but again, it’s just a piss off a couple of my buddies for reasons I’ve said before, but no point getting into it now👊🏻😁🍻🍻.
I think he made that new chime on his sanyo, that he has been using. But I dont Know. I agree nontheless. I love it too!
What's wrong with the hot rod noises, I think it's funny
@@branmanhosmaniac3489 they always made me laugh too.
31:46 The birds are telling you you're late for their snack.
Indeed 👍🏻. I love the way the magpies come around when I’m melting and I don’t even notice they’re there until I hear them whistling and singing behind me !
.Now as crazy as it might sound, I gave them a big feed of cat biscuits and I put the little bit that was left in the bag up on the bench, and then about 15 minutes later the crow came and took the bag of cat biscuits off the bench and flew away with it!!!
I can’t prove it in any way apart from the fact I saw him flying off with it !! the cheeky little bugger. I wish I had it on film but unfortunately it’s my word against his if I ever have to take the crows to court👍🏻.
And I’ve heard some pretty crazy stories in court, and who the hell is gonna believe a crow stole my cat biscuits off the bench in a sealed bag 😳
@@bigstackD Never fear good sir I believe you I have no doubt the crow would do that I've had things stolen from me when I was in Australia by the ibis when I was at Australia zoo so it would not surprise me at all. And if I could make a recommendation if you want to catch something like that again you should install a wireless camera on the corner of the work area one of the outdoor ones and then you can catch things like that and use them in your videos just a suggestion
I love it when you put the metal on the ice when it's still hot enough to glow.
Every time I hear the “drop bears” part of me expects some random person in a cheap-as-hell koala costume to just appear out of nowhere. Or like a stuffed koala to just get yeeted out of the darkness.
Seeing that green flame would be beautiful to see in a nighttime melt
CONGRATS on smashing through 3k lbs.!!!🎉 Still the best part of waking up on Fridays.
Love that green flame! And seeing the boys again.
Mate your asmr in the past month has been outstanding. I have watched each episode several times, because you are putting me to sleep. Not because you are boring or nothing at all like that. I watch your videos because the calm me down, (ptsd) It is such a pleasure to get to watch you.
Awesome bars today!
I love the copper and brass!
The ally bars are the top this time!
Copper skulls are the coins I prefer, for sure!
The boys and the birds really got their share of air this time! LOL
Thanx for a great vid D!
You are just so authentic, so real, I can imagine people appreciate that about you, so do I, and I look forward to your loooooong video every Friday. Best regards 🤗🤗🤗
Oh Boy I ❤ these longer ones !!! 😍
Me too!
I’m sorry, but…. That’s what she said 😂
@@rpaul4656 goofy
Nice haul. Love the copper as it cools. And really love your dogs. Sweet guys.
Love the percussive disassembly by the way 😂
Video watched start to finish, ads watched through and allowed to time-out, all I have to do is wait until next Friday for my next melting fix ... I am not addicted, I can stop anytime I want, I just don't want to .. *scratches clicking finger
That was a funny engine bit with the dogs there at the end. 🤣😂
…super right way to appreciate our everyday metals…thank you…
Love it when the big molds are used. Especially with copper!
Nice haul, beautiful looking mirrored bars. The mold your mate made is making some nice looking bars.
Glad I don't have to worry about those Drop Bears!
Good Morning from South Africa. Love your vids and socks!
30:10 Glad you went back for the piece of copper that was trying to make a break for it - my OCD was going bananas!!
I am digging the sound effects when the dogs were running.
watching you take apart that transformer was captivating. Great editing.
@7:59 *The majestic Australian White Ibis, aka the 'Bin Chicken'.* 😆😆😆
It's amazing how carefully you were able to remove all that varnish. And making the aluminum crucible-ready was some magnificent workmanship.
9;47- you've got it bad dude. Jonesin for a copper melt. Keep it up, always a good show.
2:21 I’ll ALWAYS recognize Owl City, no matter how sped up 😜
6:00
Looks like capacitors. They contain some metal plates and an insulating dieelectricum. But what exactly? I don't know. There are tons of different Materials which could be used. Especially as a dieelectricum.
6:15
Yeah. Definetly a capicator.
That green flame is cool.
Always enjoy watching everyone of the pours, Nordic gold is my favorite to watch.
Ah Fridays, the best day ever.
Nice video, love see the poured bars results, love the cooling ripples. Nice to see Ingot and Bullion, cute puppies. Made me laugh at the end with the race car and oldbeater. I watched that part 3 times. I'm still smiling about that. Great video. See ya next friday. Thanks again!!
Appreciate that, yes, I thought a lot of people would know it’s exactly right for these two little monkeys👊🏻😁.
@@bigstackD what is your age name? How old is your kids?
Happy Friday D and everyone! On last break at work. I’ll be back 👍
15:55
This man lives in the EPICENTER of Jurassic Park. Change my mind.
What is that noise from?
I also want to know!@@seanwilley9831
wow. more than 3.000 lbs..... you DID a big work until today- dude! great job!😊
Thank you for another enjoyable Friday morning and an awesome amount added to the stack keep up the great work six stars brother
Absolutely love these long videos keep em coming 💕👍😁Xxx🏴
LOL Australia is something out of a Dr. Suess book!
I love the copper melts I want you to get your moneys worth for the work you put in too.
Great video brother from the imperial county California 🇺🇲
6:00 those are capacitors. Think of them as batteries that you can charge with electricity at any speed, slow or fast, and then discharge them at any speed (slow or fast), sort of like a bucket of water. Inside they are full of oil, comonly they use mineral oil, but the old ones can contain oil with pcbs (which are carcenogenic). Sometimes the housing is aluminium, and inside is a roll of paper and steel foil, which is the actual part that stores the current.
but dont try to take them apart untill you are sure those are discharged, given how old they are, it is likely that they are but it is a good idea to double check
Mmm not filled with oil. You are thinking AC can transformers (old ones did have PCBs). A capacitor is a sandwich made up of two sheets of material separated by an insulator. Charge accumulates on the surfaces. Some cylindrical capacitors are made with oiled paper as the insulator but the oiling is just to facilitate wrapping process.
Anyway likely nothing useful for major melting inside the beasties 😊
EDIT: I misspoke! Some older power capacitors are oil filled like transformers. Now I want to see what’s inside…
@user-jo5le4og6n search oil capacitor into google. They are defiantly a thing, often used as motor start at resonate capacitors in microwaves or other devices in conjunction with a transformer
Nice haul there Big D!
When you put up what the Bin Chicken eats, you should have added anything in a garbage can 😆
No BigsnackD today?
Have an awesome weekend mate.
How are ya? Thanks again buddy much appreciated as always. Yes I did do a big snack D went to my local bakery and grabbed a couple of meat pies but while editing I accidentally deleted that out but not to worry. I’m sure I’ll squeeze it in on a future video have a great weekend buddy chat with you soon👊🏻😁.
I say this everytime: watch those capacitors! They can hold a charge for a long ass time and can be lethal under the right circumstance. Never hurts to short them out quick before throwing them around.
I love the green flame from the copper melt😊
Nice Cooper I-Bricks.
Ingot: majestic AF
Bullion: E N E R G Y
Great melts, them big bars came out great. Love the boys and birds 😊 would love those parrots here if you dont want them 😂
You're a wonderful constant of the end of my weeks
Hell yeah, the thin copper plates are really badass for some reason
ASMR at it's best .
WOW that Neon green from the first melt ! amazing
Woo, always look forward to your videos.!!
I've taken to pre-roasting varnished copper. Hit it with a heat just high enough to burn off the varnish. I do the same to roast the liners and paint off of aluminum cans. I got the idea from a documentary about an aluminum recycling plant.
That beautiful copper pour had me from the beginning. Nice work as always 👍🏻
I love the color that copper gives to the fire It's a very pretty green
I love how the steam scrubs the ingots!😊
Love the music. It is before my era, but it is comforting. Howdy from Oregon USA. Clean and green, and often wet.
those 3 things you pulled and asked about are condensators/capacitors of 8micro farads
back then they told us that a capacitor of 1 farad would be as big as a house :'D
Would love to see one of your larger bars, milled and polished to perfection on all sides, or maybe if a copper bar, leave the top rough to kind of show the contrast of what lies beneath.
Always love your content and look forward to starting the weekend off right with your latest video.
I love the green flames. Thanks for the video.
I love the GTA phone call😂😂😂!!! I always get hungry when I watch the BignasckD time!! Maybe a BignaskD channel will “soon” be on UA-cam??
So glad I watched 'til the end. Too funny.
those dropbears sound scary!😂
It’s that time of week again! 💙
Sweet working nights in northern Alberta about to have a snack and Bigstacked drops a video 😎😎 thanks for the great videos 😎😎👍👍
I love watching your UA-cam channel. Especially your beautiful dogs
Those aluminium bars are so beautiful!
That aluminum was much better than last week’s (soda cans) … happy Friday, have a great weekend 😎👍
All my star screwdrivers are toast. Now you know why I prefer flat heads
Thank you so much man! Been watching your videos for years. Finally got all the stuff to start casting myself about a year ago 😀
Love this channel! Always look forward to a melt every Friday ! , but I have to say it this out loud because of the track 22:35
RICHIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like your friend on the melt phone lives a pretty interesting life. The sugar bowl of co.... erm... happy dust is a nice touch. 😉
Every friday is a bit more awesome after you’ve uploaded your weekly vid 💪🏼💪🏼
Hi from France ! I'm looking to your melts since a year and just wanted to say you that I like it, sometimes, one of you videos pops in my list, and it's always a nice moment to see it. I'm not a fan of "regular" ASMR, but you made something else, sometimes I just wait for the huge steak-time, sometimes for the dog-time, and I'm always fascinated by the different metals you pour. Not only the incredible vault you stacked, but also the physical properties during the melting process. Satisfying ice cooling or boiling ingots !!! Keep creating, that's pretty hypnotizing ;)
That was a load of meltables! Some really nice copper and the thick aluminum, and even some good brass. All in a small package.
They made some good looking bars!
Were still struggling in the Midwest to get half the temperture you are, plus were getting a ton of rain, Michigan is missing the tornado's though since it's too chilly yet, just 100 miles south though its warm enough and they have had a few.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, nothing like a good BigstackD video to get friday off to a good start with the weekend fingertips away!
My new all time favourite,
Nr.1 & best aluminium pour i have seen. The aluminiums smoothness appears to be, unreal including out of this world👌🤯👍👌😁👍
Ur friend really😁👍 knows how to, weld together steel to become topnotch and high quality designs.
Hello, I'm always happy to see you.
I also made a burner, and next time I'm thinking of making a small and light furnace.
Thank you for your help, please keep up the good work.
10:05 green!
I like green frames too:)
Hello from Seattle WA ✌️🦊👍
Capaciters like batteries for a quick start to a motor!
i really enjoy this stuff. just perfect
2:24 ❤fireflys 😁
Not only did your mate make a fine mold, it looks like it'd also make a might fine loaf pan
Great melt this week, brother!
Howdy Big! It's been a while. Glad to see you still doing what you do best!
I melted my first bar of aluminum (yesterday) thanks to this channel.
Ingot is like...Pet me and let me go scratch my junk and Bullion goes and checks the perimeter :-)
Every time you pan up to the plane I think of 5 o'clock Charlie from the TV show MASH.
Oh man, I love that Leidenfrost Effect starting at 15:14.
