- Why Golfer's / Tennis Elbow is so painful at night, and how to sleep with it - tenniselbowclassroom.com/trea...
One of the worst things about Tennis and Golfer’s Elbow is that it can sometimes hurt so much at night that it keeps you from sleeping.
But even if your sleep isn't disrupted by pain, you may still be wondering why your elbow hurts so much first thing in the morning.
In this podcast episode, Allen Willette from Tennis Elbow Classroom covers these two questions, as well as:
► What's the best position to sleep in when you have Golfer's or Tennis Elbow?
► Are there topical preparations or other treatments that can help relieve the pain and help you sleep?
► And should you wear a brace in bed at night around your wrist or elbow - or is it better not to?

I've been dealing with tennis elbow and this problem with it hurt more at night and waking me up out of my sleep for over a month now the therapist said it can last for six months and the work that I do doesn't help it get better there's sometimes the work that I do around the house doesn't help it
Start direct from 7:30 😂
After 5 months of this I NEEDED this video!!!
Thanks
Get to it dude!
My elbow is swollen. What is that caused. I am an avid tennis player and losing it waiting for it to heal. It does not hurt during the night unless i play.
I like your info and if you could shorten the wording and get to the point a bit sooner would be really helpful
Voltaren gel is OTC.
I am used to sleeping on the right arm which has tennis elbow. Do you think sleeping on that hand would cause it to worsen the situation? I end up finding myself tossing and turning and in the morning I am on that elbow and with crazy pain.
It's very common to find that sleeping on the affected side will aggravate ones symptoms - but I don't actually believe that it truly worsens the injury, so try not to worry about that. How you use your arm actively during the day matters way more.
@@TennisElbowClassroom thanks so much for the confirmation. I just subscribed to the class yesterday and I had the best sleep in weeks after just following one class. But the pain returned again today. Hoping to have this class do magic on my elbow and life :-)
@@pdesai2340 You're very welcome! And thank you for joining the class! Glad to hear you had a better night's sleep right away.
@@TennisElbowClassroom yes it definitely is helping at certain extent, but when I do cross fiber techniques it gets worse again
I have a heat pad
Anyone else's shoulder blades go numb sometimes with their tennis elbow??
I'm crying as he talks about hard it is to sleep. It's been absolute HELL! An hour at a time. Couldnt put my hair up for 2 days.
@@courtneyrobbins4304 Never heard anyone with shoulder pain who has tennis elbow. Might be something diffrent
They tell me it's just.tendonitis. I'm assuming the.nerves wrapped only tendons are just going all the way up my arm to my shoulders.
@@courtneyrobbins4304 You shouldn't rest it regardless, I've had tennis elbow for 2 years now. Resting never helps. You should rest it for max 2 weeks after that you should carry on with your life
I don't rest it. I've been watching these guys on UA-cam and I see that light exercise and treatment (ice and heat) are what heals it. I also work 5 days a week in a physical job so I don't even have the choice to rest it. At night I get home, take a hot shower and let it run on the painful areas. Then if it's still hurting when I lay down, I'll use heat or ice.
I haven’t slept well in a month
how you been
Voltaren is over-the-counter.
Yes. Thank you. I see that Voltaren was approved under the FDA’s growing Rx-to-OTC switch list back around the beginning of 2020 - about 6 months before I made this video. Didn't know it at the time. Here's a link to the reference:

God help me
📢 H E L P 🥺🥺🥺🛏💪😭
Nothing useful in this video.
Takes too long, boring visuals. Pity.
I'd rather be in pain than listen to this dull video...
I'll save everyone 10 minutes; heat your elbow and forearm before and after sleep through various means. Don't sleep on your arm/s that have the issue. Braces may work but they might do more harm than good. Medication should be used with caution and probably under doctor advisory.
@@zombiemosesThank you for that. Now what types of med? I’ve tried aleve (double dose) daily for 2 weeks, months ago after being told by a pharmacist to try. It helps a bit but I can’t keep taking it of course. I’ve tried braces, ZERO help. Sleeping sucks lol but sometimes I felt it lessened the pain to actually lay ON the affected arm
