I have been patiently waiting for this game since November of 2019 when I first stumbled on its teaser. Kind of feels surreal that it's reached this far, and looks as good as many others despite being a demo. Also, when I get my hands on this game, I'm going to waste so much time looking at all the ship and aircraft models.
Very beautiful! Very nice water surface rendering, love it! Yes I'd like to see you follow the Allied attack on those Japanese carriers, maybe also the Wildcat that was scoring heavily on the Kates.
Thanks for this preview, Jochen. I've had this game on my Steam wishlist for a few months now. I do hope the developers will be able to release it eventually. In the meantime, I'll certainly watch any further videos you care to post about it.
They're making great progress on this and I definitely know it will be released! I hope you'll continue to check in my channel regularly for updates on this game as the developers have been incredibly gracious to give me this access and I see the relationship continuing.
Me too. I love how nice of an association I have with the developers. I’ve never been so close to a project like this and am grateful they deemed me worthy.
Eye candy mate ? Not sure you remember back in late 80s and 90s an Aussie company, SSG, made a smashing Carrier battle game (Carriers At War) that was first on Vic Commodores machines before moved over to PC. That was great but of course not very graphic. But under the hood it was massive, almost as WITP. That's the measure I keep, even if nice graphics are fine to watch but this game needs to show up what's behind this flashy stuff. After all we got several graphic rich games on the seas today and one can read a lot of critic on how the AI performs. It has been a ton of videos on it's progress the last couple of years so they put in a lot of time in it. (But mostly graphic showing to me knowledge) Lets hope it delivers big time. Looking forward to see more of it, but do I catch it right you just viewing and not directing anything. Hm
I think there is a lot more than eye candy going on here, but it is definitely very appealing to the eye which I feel is important part of modern games. They definitely need to look good and this is checking that box. This release we have now is very very early and it’s intent is to demonstrate that the game actually does run. It’s a demonstrator. We will know soon enough how well everything under the hood works when the game advances to that stage in the development and I’ll be here to show it to you all.
@@jochenheiden oh man, youre getting me thinking it might be time to set up some Dosbox here and give CAW another stab...might be in the mood for ye olde 8 bit combat again....lol!
@@ItsPaaat Think I got the old PC version, luckily downloaded, and not on only on those 3,5 disks I first had. Must be the third version of it. I really loved their way of setting up the AI with no firm cause of action, but depending on what went on. Think it might be one of the first with advanced AI which we as players could make a heck of a lot to change scenarios and make full new ones. It was revolution and those SSG lads really gave MicroProse a fight in wargames back then.

I was staring at the visuals for an hour before I even got the first scenario loaded!

We can definitely do several videos showing all the angles. I’ll work on improving my camera usage too.

Can’t wait for you to play more of this !
For sure! I just scratched the surface on this one.
Nice job, dude! Great vid. Looks fun!
Thank you Pat. You’re always so supportive and I appreciate it a lot.
@@jochenheiden likewise buddy! Keep at it, and keep them plane shorts comin. Love em!
@@ItsPaaat The algorithm hates them now. I barely get 200 views on them anymore.
@@jochenheiden well I like them. Algorithm doesn't like me either, but I like people. And you're good people man. Keep at it.
I'm always on the lookout for good takes. If I see something cool that's not too repetitive I'll put it up.
It looks amazing! Can't wait for the full game!

The reason the wings on the SBD Dauntless don't fold is because the can't. Like the Val, it did not feature wing folding.
You’re correct. I just assumed it would have folding wings because so many other aircraft did but clearly it does not. Now I know. Thanks!

CAW was the best. Gold-standard game of carrier combat, this one may meet it. We shall see.
I think that game was before my time!
