In 1982 I was 6 years old and discovered my dad's records. In The Court Of The Crimson King was in there. Got my mom to put it on for me. Life changed!!!! From 21st Century Schizoid Man to Talk To The Wind. My six year old mind was blown! Plus his Black Sabbath records.... Thanks Dad!!!!

I smile every time I see that cover photo from the Bill Evans/Jim Hall "Undercurrents" album. I was fascinated by the photo and after doing some research, I discovered that it was taken up the road from where I grew up. I took my first swimming lessons there, too. Very cool to see it again. WITCH and your love of that album is what honestly opened my own dive into the rabbit hole. When I mentioned Zamrock to my mother after watching the video when you first debuted when you picked it up her response was "Yeah we knew of it but it wasn't mainstream "
I guess I can blame you for me collecting African records. 😆

I like that you have Bleach here, as it was also one of the records that changed my life. I was 16 in 89, and a girl i worked with - who was also 16, and who I had a huge crush on- had a small studio apartment on Capitol Hill in Seattle that was payed for by her dad as an alternative for her being homeless. She put a cassette of Bleach on and it blew my mind. I had never heard anything like them before. I was super into punk, and darker wave stuff at the time, but Bleach was edgy, soulful, gritty, and loud. Was like nothing else around at the time, and embodied the streets of the rainy dark backwater the city was before the tech boom and before any of these bands got famous. I remember doing crystal with her for my first time - when it was more of a drug you did at clubs, when it was called crystal and not meth. Then driving in a car with her and a junkie friend of hers to get crystal, and listening to them debate whether or not they would shoot up - as they've never done it before The girl said she would like to do it, and when the car stopped at the dealers apartment, they went up stairs and I left. I would never touching the drug again, and pretty never see her again. But that's what that album reminds me of, If it were a perfume I would add all of those senses.

I used to keep my records outside of the jacket like that for years, but then i stopped. I know people do it because it protects from ring-wear but I concluded that the jacket has many purposes and one of those is to protect the record. I'd rather protect the record at the expense of the jacket than protect the jacket at the expense of the record. Any thoughts?

I have an idea for a video you might like to do. In my opinion, there isn't enough love shown for the Discogs community as users/individuals. Three of my records that changed my life were found by paying close attention to three users; Eirikstim (that was Ken Boothe - Let's Get It On), rastislav.sutak (for Tuck & Patti - Love Warriors) and savakntr (Jennifer Warnes - Famous Blue Raincoat) who sadly looks like is no longer active. The Ken Boothe and Jennifer Warnes are in my collection. Highlighting some of the users you follow may be a good idea, because not a lot of personal information is shown on each profile. Some other records that changed my life include: Savage Garden self-titled also in my collection as vinyl, Scientist - In Dub, and Grant Green - Live at the Lighthouse.
