The Pioneers died on stage, but the denons kept going for the entire night, despite working under direct rainfall.

This was and as of April 2020 still is the most advanced standalone DJ player. Software aside (which is still improving), the hardware was INCREDIBLY well designed in its build, bridging the gap between standalone and laptop DJing. The way two of them work networked with the x1800 mixer is superb. It's very tastefully designed - incredibly forward-thinking, but tastefully restrained compared to the competition.
@@Crossfader I'm a mobile DJ, I started investing in the original Prime system not too long before the Prime 4 was announced (whoops). DabNerrL710 thanks for the insight! I’m currently in an S4 Mk2 with Traktor and two added external vinyl turntables. Looking to move into something that can be standalone.

Great video :) Good to see that you looked back and compared it with its initial release in 2017. Massively reduced price, many new features, nothing to do wrong with this unit if you dont need a bigger screen or that Sata drive. 💪
This is truly an awesome set and a huge upgrade from the standard Pioneer CDJ's. I've got the set for almost five months now and it performs great, so many extra capabilities to get creative. For those of you who are used to controllers, these functions are quite common, but if you are used to CDJ's it is definitely worth to consider switching to Denon!
Denon DJ have done a quantum leap in terms of this unit. I loved it even more when the motorised version was released. My main issue is only that I don’t any of them.😂
Went to upgrade from my controller when denon was having a promotional sale 2 decks get the mixer free . I've enjoyed the move to them as I didnt have the money for cdjs . It was real handy comming from rekordbox to denon with my library just like you said plug in and play everything is there.
Switched from the cdjs to these 2 years ago, and would never go back to a cdj again. I swore by my pio djm2000 mixer but switched to the denon x1800 mixer, which now I'm used to, I prefer. I strongly recommend denon dj gear, I have also had friends buy the prime 4 at my recommendation and they too are very happy. Once the sc6000M's are finally available I will be upgrading to them. The motorised version of the 5000 hadn't been released at the time of my purchase. Coming from a turntable background I would like to go back to a moving platter, plus I like the new look with the bigger screens and bigger platter.
Come on guys, do your homework. The internals are not the same in the SC6000. The SC5000 has a Dual Core CPU, but the 6000 has the same Snapdragon 625 6 Core CPU as the Prime4. It also has the latest version of the ESS Sabre 32bit DAC, which is why they sound soooo good.

If you go to my UA-cam channel page, you will see all four of my Denon SC5000s. I like having the ability to have my hands on each deck, so I had to get two more when I got fed up with changing from Layer A to Layer B when running more than one deck. I love them. I hate going back to Pioneer for anything now. I sold all my old Pioneer gear to get brand new Denon Prime gear. That is how much I love them! Cheers, be safe, and stay healthy, all!
With the music loaded on my Usb, if I set up cue points on the usb using the Denon kit will this transfer to rekordbox and cdj’s in clubs? The only thing putting me off purchasing a full Denon setup is that pioneer run the club game
They Caged Non i actually went for the full sc5000 x1800 set up, super nice. Obviously with covid I haven’t been in a club but maintaining two libraries is a bit of a pain. I’d love for there to be an option in Engine Prime to export a Rekordbox usb
They Caged Non Tbh it is one of the options I’ve tried, but it means that every time the rekordbox USB is plugged into the 5000 it analyses the full USB again - every time. Unless I am missing a step which there’s every possibility haha. The best workflow I’ve found is what you’ve been doing with Serato and Rekordbox, it just means a bit of double Dipping with the cue point set ups and crates etc. Like you say no major deal though, but a “create rekordbox usb” would be unbelievable, it would sell them a lot of hard ware too I think
They Caged Non in my opinion it’s exactly why pioneer won’t allow for it lol, they know the denon hardware currently blows it out the water, we’ll see what the nxs3000s have to say when they come out though. I’m the same as you, the pioneer gear is good but if it wasn’t the industry standard there’s no way they’d command that price. The best thing they could do is allow for Engine to create RB sticks, drop their price on the gear and actually go into a proper battle with Denon. It can only allow them to up their game in my opinion. We’ll see though 🤷♂️
They Caged Non Yeah the leaked images leave a lot to be desired, it actually looked like a massive step backwards which would be a massive shame. Agreed with you on the controllers, they’re a lot of fun. I think they got so stuck on the whole “industry standard” on the cdjs that they just stopped innovating, I mean really they haven’t exactly came a long way in the past decade or so? Some clearer wave forms but really there’s not a great deal of improvements. Look at denon over the past decade, it’s actually ridiculous how far their gear has came (and it was far from bad in the first place - pioneer just need that kick up the butt in my opinion and it’s happening now with this prime series)
I'll be going full SC6000 + x1850 if denon can ever actually get the damn things to store shelves. Date was originally "Early Q2" then they said it was "Q2". It's currently July which is the start of Q3 and they haven't given any updates. Not denon's fault entirely with the Covid delay but the sc2900s were also delayed like this so I'm not willing to give them full benefit of the doubt.
Video would have more value if you mentioned the DAC and the circuit used to power it and point out more differences between the coming 6000 model. Oh well.
would in this case 1 Player be sufficient to basically replicated a 2 player CDJ setup? I mean how often in a techno set do you really need to touch both jogwheels at the same time?
You could but there is a certain ease to having two seperate decks. Take a look at our original one deck mix here! ua-cam.com/video/T7nuAweEc30/v-deo.html
Yes USB's with RB6 exported library will work. The export mode of RB6 has not changed from RB5, also there are no new firmware updates available for CDJ/XDJ's.
Laidback luke has a video demoing them, the screens are the same as in the Prime 4, 10" and absolutely gorgeous. The multitouch implementation is awesome as well.
i have a set and i am going to get a 6000 later this year as i like the Motorized platter. I will get 2 so i have 2 of each future proof my setup for the next 5 years at least. I am doing live sets on utube etc but what about mix cloud can you give us some updates on how to get noticed. Peace out Kodiak "the big bear"
Are you asking could you record using only one SC5000 to your laptop using both decks? That answer is no. You will need a mixer of some sort. Do you need to buy a top of the line mixer to use both channels or layer in the SC5000? That answer is no. You can buy a cheap two channel mixer plugging both the A and B decks to each respective channel.
This excuse is my biggest bugbear! The layouts for the main functions are identical, the cue / play, pitch control, beat jump etc. It's not that difficult to use both options. As a Denon user, I'm pretty sure I could get on a pair of 2000NXS and have enough figured out in like 10 minutes to be able to run a set on them.
Kudos from Montreal Canada Brother great reviews as always. These players where an eye Cat her and always wanted to get them, now that the sc6000 came out although the sc5000 is half price my Gearhollic eyes want the weird looking huge screen on the sc6000 Even is the going price on the sc5000 is more Than half the price. I like the New one but also i find its screen is too big, is it Just me or what do you think of that? Lastly II find my self liking the sc5000 due to it doing all that the New one does but at half the price including the fact it looks more natural in size to that 32 inch lcd screen on each sc6000 i love and hate it at the same time. The information that would make me jump on that sc5000 is knowing the have the same internal as far as knobs, cpu, and entire circuitry. If that is the case and the sc5000 share all internal then a bigger screen does not justify me sending my Cash on one sc6000 rather then getting 2x sc5000 for that same money. If you have any thoughts i could gain something out of then share it your opinion is apreciated. I want to ditch traktor and go standalone i think denon is the way.
beautiful player , Al tho the 6000 has more premium look, this one has a more "my fist sony" toyish look . And the most important thing they have to work on, is the beatgrids... the drift all over the place. My friend has the sc5000 (myself i work with cdj's.) when plugged in my usb the player quickly analyzed the tracks. Very cool to see and even when the bpm set to a certain BPM, it had to use the pitch bend very often.... was really a hassle, and took the fun out of it. I know Prime doesn't exist that long yet compared with Rekordbox, but instead of coming with new products please fix this. But cool to see, they woke up pioneer, so they must be more innovating next time.... with the Nx3 perhaps ??
I’ve never been a fan of “the Industry Standard “ pioneer... any Denon product I ever owned, still work to this day, even my old school dual CD players. I think these players are amazing, and I’m looking forward to trying the 6000, and the Ms..
Did you even watch the video? It got addressed there. The 6000 looks absolutely fine. Plus I wouldnt even care about the 5000 if I get a far better unit (=2 decks actually) for half the price of a single CDJ.

I really really don't get why clubs just don't let DJs play on their controllers, instead of paying so much for these things
Not every controller has an XLR output that helps audio engineers in the club to test and finetune things. Can't say much since i am no technical expert in this. You can think of it this way, imagine if everyone brought their own gear clubs would waste more time getting the sound right without damaging their speakers. Its a cost saving measure in the long run
DJ's who do more than one gig in a night would really struggle lumping a big controller around and the hassle of setting up in B2B sets means this will never really be the case.
SZ2 is a great pro controller - but it's really old now. Most DJ looking to buy new gear will choose the 1000-SRT - it's more mobile with CDJ jog wheels and it's $600 cheaper than the SZ2.
@@Crossfaderwell in my opinion you cant really compare the cdj to this player (controller).. the fact of the matter is that there is soooo much music you cant find other than on CDs.. you just cant really justify a comparison when one is completely different to the other.. anyhow! keep up the good work crossfader
I've heard from alot of owners of the sc5000 AND other stand alone denon controllers that they have all experienced crashes from time to time which gets very annoying. Apparently it's all to do with the engineOS. Not worth the risk buying a denon product running engine as I wouldn't want problems like that occurring 😐

With the music loaded on my Usb, if I set up cue points on the usb using the Denon kit will this transfer to rekordbox and cdj’s in clubs? The only thing putting me off purchasing a full Denon setup is that pioneer run the club game
If you're thinking about clubs, I think pioneer is where to go
They Caged Non i actually went for the full sc5000 x1800 set up, super nice.
The best workflow I’ve found is what you’ve been doing with Serato and Rekordbox, it just means a bit of double
Dipping with the cue point set ups and crates etc.

Can you use the SC5000 to analise and edit the USB stick and then plug it into a CDJ?
No you can't unfortunately, it reads Rekordbox data but doesn't write it :)
Will the rekorbox 6 exported USB's work with denon out-of-the-box now? I understand they re did their database
Not sure! We will try and find out!
Yes USB's with RB6 exported library will work. The export mode of RB6 has not changed from RB5, also there are no new firmware updates available for CDJ/XDJ's.
Did I hear you say the sc6000 is out if so where?
Not out to buy yet, he meant they're out as in announced and available soon.
Any news whether beatport link will ever be released on sc5000's? Way overdue
It is now
Wait these now read Rekordbox memory points too? Or only hot cues?
Yes, the even read the different colors of the Rekordbox cue points
How did u get your logo in the player that looks quite cool
Easy, you just put a PNG file of your logo in the root of your USB key and it will pick it up.
Does anyone know if I can record mixes using only my laptop and no equipment? I’m planning on buying stuff eventually but I’m just starting out
Are you asking could you record using only one SC5000 to your laptop using both decks? That answer is no. You will need a mixer of some sort. Do you need to buy a top of the line mixer to use both channels or layer in the SC5000? That answer is no. You can buy a cheap two channel mixer plugging both the A and B decks to each respective channel.
The Prime 4 supports onboard recording of all audio, unsure if this carries over to the SCs at all.
The biggest hurdle moving to Denon DJ for me is that all the clubs that I play at have a cdj or xdj setup from pioneer.
Anoroc time to update the tech-riders world wide.
The program to convert over your rekordbox filed works amazing for me! I switched about a month ago and have not looked back.
Denon makes great gear- too bad the Engine Prime software is still not good enough- they're still trying to catching up with Serato and Rekorbox.
At least they’re working on it and putting out new features and stability.
Much better than 2017. Give it 1-2 more years. Mind RB sucked just as well at first, most DJs just dont remember...
Denon Dj very good team, unattainable for my budget
My friend has the sc5000 (myself i work with cdj's.)
when plugged in my usb the player quickly analyzed the tracks. Very cool to see
and even when the bpm set to a certain BPM, it had to use the pitch bend very often.... was really a hassle, and took the fun out of it.
I know Prime doesn't exist that long yet compared with Rekordbox, but instead of coming with new products please fix this.
But cool to see, they woke up pioneer, so they must be more innovating next time.... with the Nx3 perhaps ??
We certainly hope the next CDJ is on a level with the Denon! The competition will only drive the market forward!
I’ve never been a fan of “the Industry Standard “ pioneer... any Denon product I ever owned, still work to this day, even my old school dual CD players. I think these players are amazing, and I’m looking forward to trying the 6000, and the Ms..
They do have a bulletproof reputation!
why do i get a crossfader ad on a crossfader vid
Umm, they are a business? SMH
If they want it to compete with the cdjs, they have to change the looks of it. Looks like a childs toy with all those colors.
Bought one and I'm so disappointed worst buy in my dj career 😞 😪 😒 😔 😕 it's been a month and I ready wanna sale it ASAP.
They will bd the leaders how fast and simple DJing should be instead of being tethered to a laptop all the time.
We agree, it's pushing the game forward massively!
Crossfader I’m ready to try new things in DJing
The SC5000's jog wheel is a piece of shit. The 6000 is fantastic
lol lol glad someone admitted it
How can I get DDJ 1000 from you
Ask your mom to write them a check
@@chadnliz2k11 Don't send us the cheque, we aren't a DJ shop sadly! We'd recommend checking your local stores!
@@Crossfader lol, I think you're talking to the wrong guy lol.
I was joking about that Attah guy asking you to give him one
Ahh we replied to the wrong user!
So the only drawback was that they didn't look " professional "? 🤣🤣🤣
Liked and shared I hope I win
Can u do the DDJ SZ2
SZ2 is a great pro controller - but it's really old now. Most DJ looking to buy new gear will choose the 1000-SRT - it's more mobile with CDJ jog wheels and it's $600 cheaper than the SZ2.
We will add it to the list for sure!
Hold up.. but does it take cds?
Does anyone use CD's any more? :D
It doesn't no, however we don't think in this modern age that it's such a drawback. Remember these can be used in HID for Serato performances!
@@Crossfaderwell in my opinion you cant really compare the cdj to this player (controller).. the fact of the matter is that there is soooo much music you cant find other than on CDs.. you just cant really justify a comparison when one is completely different to the other.. anyhow! keep up the good work crossfader
New 'CDJ' 3000 has no optical drive either. But the Denons have multiple USB ports that Sata Drive and Wifi in addition.
Strange, I heard the same about Pioneers. Freezing screens, breaking cue/play buttons, sticky jogwheels... see, no brand is perfect. But for half the price and twice the features I go with Denon anytime,
PIONEER NR 1 🏆🏆🏆👍👍👍
I think it looks like a toy :D
You'll like the SC6000 then!
Ysm then don't buy,simple🥴
Noddy Shiels what a stupid answer 😂
Crossfader yea it looks wayyyy better ^^
Who gives a shit about the looks? 😂
Denon can Never become Club Stander like Pioneer
How many clubs you play in last month lol? McDonalds is the fast food standard, we all know that doesn't make it the best
They already were before with the Denon DN-4000. Pick up a DJ history book.
iPhones will never be more popular than Nokias
And you will never learn how to write properly, Faruk idiot.
Go and play with your plastic CDJ toy for 2300$.
Clickbait, where is the tried and tested?
