I broke down and bought the purple Longmorn 16 this morning. I went to another store in the afternoon and found the original Longmorn 16! Seriously?!? How could I not buy it too after this episode??? I think I'll never open it...
I had the original 16......it was even a step above this....was sitting on my shelf for years, unopened....gifted to a mate...he never drinks without me present......in my top 5 whiskeys of all time....it is incredible....sipping a Blandoch 11 (13-May-22) while watching this review some 5 years later...i remember your channel when you had 70k subs.....your whisky collection is insane.....easily $100k
Amazing channel guys. You have mastered the double hosted whisky video when so many others have struggled. I will have to send you some Kiwi whisky one day. From Christchurch New Zealand.
Bought my first bottle of Longmorn in TX in '95 when The Number One Son was just a nipper. Went back for more and it was not to be found. Over the next five years I moved to SC and AZ. Everywhere I went, I searched for Longmorn. It wasn't until I moved to HI in 2000 that I found a bottle. One. In a Davidoff store in the Ward Warehouse complex. I bought it immediately. Nursed it for a few years, and when it was gone, there was no more to be had. Until I was tricked into going on a cruise in 2007 and found it on the bottom shelf of a duty-free shop in Progresso, Mexico. That lasted for a while and then famine returned once again. In 2010, Blanpied said he was going to Scotland. I told him to buy a bottle of Longmorn and I would reimburse him whatever it cost. I was in the pink, or the drink, once again. A few years later I scored two of the last three bottles in Austin. A year or so later it suddenly started showing up on the shelf without fanfare as if it had always been there. Always chalked it up to poor distribution. Now it sounds like they're going for an exclusive, scarcity model. On purpose. Go figure.
There you go with walnuts again. Tried the Bulliet again and I'm still getting walnuts. It's become my third gravitating body of flavor in the Bulliet Bourbon. Hoping to find some Longmorn 16 and give it a try.
So I’ve been watching your videos for sometime now, and this is by far my favorite. I think I’ve watched it a least 10 times. And I was lucky enough to find a bottle of Longmorn 16. It’s the most money I’ve spent on liquor ever. And I’m so thankful for it. Thank you for my newest obsession. Don’t forget Sober week is coming up. Fran
Thankyou Dan for expressing in the best layman's way. That's why I follow you and Rex. FYI, I bought a bottle of Longmorn Purple to try for myself. Sure it will be great.
would you look at that! Daniel, You have reached a new level in your som' journey! You were talking whilst pouring! They grow up so fast don't they Rex?
Third gravity thing happened to me with glenfarcias 10 cause I started with buying 10, 12, 17, and 21 (because of you guys) mostly sir Daniel but so I open the 17 first and then the 10 and thought it was sub par but came back to it later and well all have their own personality… and enjoyable. Thank you Whisky Vault and Total Wine and more 🤤 DRINK ON
I hadn't heard of Longmorn either until I saw you pull it out in Modern Rogue. After hearing how much you liked it I immediately went out and luckily found one at my local Total Wine. It's the 16yr in the green bottle and I loved it as well. I tried to buy more but they only had one bottle left, which I bought. I even had a friend in SoCal pick me up a 21yo Longmorn from Duncan Taylor that is incredible. I may have to send you a sample of that bc it's heavenly.
Rex It's not just you. I went on vacation to the pacific northwest for a week. My aunt has a beach house near Brookings, Oregon, so my gf and I took a trip up there. No cell service or wifi, which was quite nice. Beautiful scenery too. Been slowly catching up on the vids I missed but I'm almost there. :)
sounds awesome. i'm editing some client vids right now. their stores are in the medford / central point part of the state. don't think they're on the coast, but Oregon seems like a cool place to visit.
Rex Haha. That's actually funny bc my aunt who owns the beach house lives in Medford. Funny coincidence. There's a trio of towns there, Talent and Ashland being the other two. My grandma lives in Talent. Oregon is gorgeous though. They have some beautiful forests and coastlines.
I'd be interested in hearing your take on Old Pultney scotch. In case you aren't familiar, the distillery is located on an island right off the coast, which gets a constant sea-breeze. I'm not sure how much of it was the placebo effect from the bottle saying it, but I got a delightful briny finish that's unlike anything I've ever had.
6 years later, but I have had 2 very different experiences with different bottlings of Old Pulteney. I really wasn’t impressed with the 12 YO bottle. It wasn’t awful, but there was some note in there that I really couldn’t put my finger on that just wasn’t doing it for me. I don’t know that I’d call it briny, but I haven’t tasted it in any other whisky. On the other hand, I got a bottle of 28 year old 1988 vintage cask strength Old Pulteney, and man, that might be the best scotch I’ve ever had. It’s a totally different flavor profile from the 12, even accounting for the age gap. I may have gotten lucky though, because after reading the few reviews of that particular bottling, it seems like there’s a lot of batch/cask variation. Some reviewers downright hated it, and from their description of the taste, it seemed like they got a totally different whisky.
I was following Terry's argument, but it lacks the next level of logic. Daniel is definitely a mooch. However, Rex mooches off Daniel. Therefore, Rex is the master and Daniel but the apprentice.
bagehi If you think about it most of the whisk(e)y isn't his. So he's getting friendship credit from someone else's stuff and gets paid for all of it. I think this means rex is the real apprentice.
The three body problem is an example of a chaotic stochastic system, which is found all over science and studied by chaos theory. It also contributes to why is hard to predict the weather. Might want to work something like that into future explanations. Or not. It's up to you really.
I have a 15 (labelled as a Highland not a Speyside), a 16, and a Distiller's Choice, and oh man I love'em all. Longmorn is second only to Lagavulin 16, in my humble opinion.
Rex more talking, I know this episode is from 2017, but haters gonna hate. I just ordered a bottle of Longmorn 16 (purple bottle), for my birthday. I'll take fantastic since in 2019 I don't assume to be able to find and afford the original work of art. Can't wait to visit Texas in 2020 for a conference. Will be taking some extra time to visit you guys... well your area... tasting room... maybe can time it right to take a class!
Love your enthusiasm for the old longmorn16 Daniel...I have just purchased 2 bottles at auction...one to keep and one to drink . I have just started doing my own whisky reviews (badly). I think there getting a little better I think....I am building up to reviewing the longmorn16 in the next week or so I am just getting to know this whisky well enough to do it justice....once again I love watching your vlogs...hope you get to catch my review soon lads....
I have a bottle of the old Longmorn 16 and the new. I haven't found a reason to crack the seal on the old one but really want to know the flavor. "An unparallelled work of art" sounds pretty good.
I have also found a toast especially for Rex "May the winds of fortune sail you, May you sail a gentle sea. May it always be the other guy who says, “this drink’s on me.”
Daniel, you just broke the whisky drinkers rules on Longmorn - one does not talk about Longmorn. Its much better just kept amongst ourselves. Love the old 16 I still have a spare bottle, just incase it disappears.
It was great of Terry to send you a bottle of Longmorn, I didnt really expect to see it reviewed on youtube. Nice review, also pretty good that you had the old 16 lying around under your stairs, its still on sale here in The Netherlands.
That was my impression and Ralfy's as well. Have you had the 15 yo Daniel? I have an unopened bottle of the older 16yo that I got for $70. They wan't $300 for the new one here in N.S. I'll never know what that tastes like nor do I want to. Gougers.
Hey guys! Would be interested to see you do comparison between Johnnie Walker Blue label, and Johnnie Walker Green label. I have heard many people say that the green label is a superior whisky and it is less than half the price of the "overrated" Blue label. I have watched your review on the green label but would like to see how you guys think it stacks up against the blue label.
If any of those original 16s are up for sale/trade, let me know! I fell in love with it just as they went out of production. Was able to special order the new "luxury" release and going to crack open tonight.
as we all know, getting whiskey for free generally qualifies one as a mooch. but i recently got to take home a nearly full bottle of the classic laddie from work and im wondering if that counts as a mooching or was it simply just work since i was paid for it??
You mean the rare 3 minutes in the last 160 videos where the shenanigans took a pause while stone cold reviewing happens. lol. It was a good 3 minutes, but we can't have too much of that or it just wouldn't be right.
Kings X. SRV. You two are beginning to reveal your depth. Drinking whiskey, having this tribe, combining music of spiritual cult following.....you're slowly indoctrinating us all into your creation. What are you plans, Sirs!!? Where are you taking us? What will we become? (as if knowing and perhaps not agreeing would stop us from following you anyway) Good to know Rex can take the full assault of his acclaimed throne and come out on top. Daniel seems to know his fate and embraces it without shame or regret....well, as long as there's whisky involved. Great vid guys. Tell Chad thanks as well.
Only opened the Monkey Shoulder so far. The boys liked it, the five year old girl thought it was spicy and I enjoyed it, but I know there is something else out there that can melt the chrome off a trailer hitch...but I think Monkey Shoulder will be a staple. The jelly jar is a fine glass to drink it all from. Vid coming soon. Have seven toasts lined up so far. Super busy still but this fall/spring you won't be able to shut me up. P.S. What's the best venue to really answer your question without without filling up this comment section with a long-winded, but honest reply? (perhaps make a youtube vid and post it as public...? I'll follow Andrew's lead...)
its pretty trippy when you learn how many things that theory applies too. if you study it long enough to practically apply it to your work, shit gets real.
Hey Daniel... you know what... the longhorn 16 years original, it's still readily available in Belgium about 15 miles from my home, I just bought 6 bottles this morning :)
If you ever find yourself in gothenburg. Eat at THE GOLDEN DAYS. They have a seperate book for whisk(e) y and beer. They even have Longmorn 15. Proud 19 year old fan here. I turn 20 this mounth and in sweden you can then buy boose leagaly.
making easier for new viewers to figure out what this channel is all about. don't worry, i'm sure we'll forget all about it and go off the rails in the next few episodes. 🙃
i recently purchased Monkey shoulder and i must say, i love it. it is such a nice blended malt. I have only just gotten into whiskey and have tried a variety i like. Are there any scotch's you would recommend for someone that has a £50-£60 per bottle budget and likes smoky scotch but also Irish whisky?
So while ya'll are in scotland you should try to get ahold of the couple that signed the glenmorangie bottle and see if he'd let you interview him for the channel
I'm struggling.. I'm going to finally splurge a little on a fancier bottle. So, I am no currently chosing between the new Longmorn 16, and Hibiki Harmony. The Japanese whiskey scene is completely new to me and holds a certain level of novelty, which is intriguing. But I've heard so many good things about Longmorn.. Brace yourselves.. in my country the Hibiki, is 85e and 96 for the Longmorn. Thoughts?
Rex really listened and didnt talk, and we dont know if he like the longmorn or not? im going whiskey shopping tomorrow, if you can get one compass box whiskey which one would it be?
Nice review. I want to warn folks that the purple box 16 is kinda trash at its current price point. Stick with something from Aberlour if you are going for this type of expression and can't source independent or discontinued bottles. Cheers from H Town.
Yeah 156 usd for a new label longmorn 16 is a little steep considering I can get A’bunadh cask strength for 110, an anCnoc 18 for 130 which I love, or Highland Park 18 for a few bucks more. Cheers from T Town (Glass City)(Ohio😜)
Thanks to you two, I have started my own long journey down the road of scotch, and love it. Because you have opened my eyes to the lovely world of things like Dalmore, Oban, Glenlivet, and even Ardbeg; I'd like to make a donation from my local distiller, Rogue. They are an oceanside distillery in Newport, OR and do everything in house and make a damn good single malt, they also have their dead guy and make a rye. Let me know what you'd like to try and how I might get it to you, Cheers!
Went to the store to pick some up, and spotted another Oregon single malt but it's peated. I cannot send both, unfortunately, but I know how much you two like your peated whiskies. It's McCarthy's Oregon single malt
I LOVE bourbon and a lot of ryes, and just about every Irish whiskey...having said that i am having a tough time appreciating scotch the way i could/should. I have tried monkey shoulder, many glenmorangies, dalmore 12, Mcallen and a few others. While I did enjoy them for the most part I "didn't fall in love" with any of them... If you could point me in the direction of one of these mythical longmorns of yesteryear, or perhaps be willing to trade one of your own for a ridiculously delicious whiskey of your choosing I would be forever grateful...I would also throw in a truly magnificent head accessory as a gesture of genuine appreciation! LOL
If you are up for paying for shipping, Master of Malt is a good starting place. In the US, I spent a few hours on the phone calling every major whisky retailer in the US until I found one that carried it and would mail it to me.
So I just walked in my local liquor store and I was browsing when stumbled on to the Longmorn 16 in dark brown box so I opened it and it was not the purple leather bottom but the brown leather. Could this be the original blend or did the started to repack it the old style?
I dont have a Longmorn to compare, but i just had a Jura Superstition and i felt like it had the same pepper spice peek you described. Can you confirm this?
greataxe3, "this is for Jon Stothfang". He left a comment about how much it bothered him that we left the writers tears on the wrong shelf. Just an Easter egg / ball busting
The Longmorn Distiller's Choice is always on offer on Amazon. Have you tried this NAS version they've put out? I've kind of stayed away from it until now, no particular reason, I've just spent my money on other things in that price range. Also, is Rex the third gravitating body? A UA-cam channel with Daniel and whisky... good. A UA-cam channel with Daniel, whisky and Rex (aka the mooch)...magic. Or maybe not.
Hey you Magnificent Bastards! I just booked a trip to Ireland in May. Are there any interesting whiskey's I can purchase there that I can't find in the US?
I. Love. Your. Hat. I have a thing for "cowboy" hats, in almost all their forms. that is a pretty hat. Almost as pretty as the slick hairdo on Darth Mooch
I may have to pick this up now. I saw 1 single bottle at the store the other day. Got to admit, I didn't knew much about Longmorn and now I fear the bottle is gone.... :S
... Some one Should write down the 10-30 Seconds about the Tastingnodes they tell in the Video! Don't get me wrong. I come here Everyday! Including Sunday, to be like, Dang it, no video :D And i love the Storys we get told about the Whisky or the everything happening and stuff. By the way, I would love if Rex get his Whisky at the begining of the Video, so he Shuts up and i can get more Story time XD But to get back to the beginning, i also like the tasting nodes that are hidden in this videos like in a where is waldo book :P
Guys I love the old Longmorn 16 the new bottle is ok but not like the old!!! Am trying to buy as much as I can but its becoming a struggle to get hold of the old bottling!!!
Hi guys!, I have been watching you for a while now and have learned a lot from you. I have always been a fan of whisky and mostly speyside whiskys. I have happened to have an old Longmorn 16 and loved it, but then didn't realised how rare it now is. I have now picked up a Longmorn master distillers choice. I think its really good, would love to know what you guys think of it if you have tried it?
Okay, I found the old Longmorn 16. Rex, how was it? You didn't actually give your opinion and Daniel is a fan, so the emotions might be clouding the verdict.
Just want to start of by saying love the channel. Question: I have a great liquor store within 5 minutes of my house here in Michigan and the owner says he can get me a bottle of Longmorn 18 first editions for $197.. can’t find much info on this bottle online from a review standpoint but was wondering if you think that’s a good deal? Have you tried that particular version and if so do you recommend I pull the trigger??.. thanks
Love you guys. My day is not complete unless I watch at least one new eipsode. Daniel you said you are a Geek. Love it. So here is a Geek question for you. You have done all of these reviews of whiskey's and you even have one on how to drink whiskey, but I haven't seen anything on how you should store and care for your whiskey. For example, as the volume in your bottle recedes at what point should you be concerned that there is too much air in there and how do you rresolve that problem? Do you use those vacuum seals like the ones used for wine bottles? Or do you pour of them in a smaller container? After you open a bottle and there is quarter of it gone is there a time limit on when that should be drunk? I'm sure there is more information I should know. thanks
Yeah, we talked about this in the earlier videos, but: *Store them like wine. darker places, cooler temps. But unlike wine, don't every set them on their side. the alcohol will eat the cork. *An opened bottle can last for years if it's mostly whisky. At halfway, you still have at least a year. Under half, and you want to start working through it. Or, it's totally kosher to move them into smaller bottles as you go through them.
thanks. I took a quick look for that episode but didn't see it. Guess I'll have to binge watch to catch it. The only problem is that I usually drink with you guys while watching. I probably watch it and pass out not remembering that I watched it.
It's not exactly that three gravitating bodies create unpredictable futures in the sense of something totally unexpected happening. It's that the system cannot be modeled precisely since the equations describing the motion of a three-body system have no closed-form solution. (That means, you never end up with a simple X+Y=Z type of equation where you can plug known values into one end and have an answer pop out on the other.) Instead, the system must be solved numerically, using computers to rapidly cycle through ever more precise approximations to the correct answers until it converges on some stable solution within a set tolerance. Since our computers are now very, very fast and can solve these equations in seconds rather than weeks, we can now model this kind of motion with fair accuracy. What tends to throw the thing out of whack is less the equations themselves than components of the rocket performing within acceptable tolerance, but being "off" by enough to perturb the system. (Simply because there's a limit to how precise we can make any kind of device, no matter how well-engineered.) Even so, the corrections are fairly small, not representative of some kind of paradigmatic change. So I'm not sure that's the best metaphor. (Fun fact: "computer" was once a job title, not a device. The women profiled -- with fair accuracy -- in the film "Hidden Figures" were computers. Their job was to take these equations and tediously crank out cycle after cycle after cycle of approximate solutions.)
I don't think the actual bottle itself is for me, per se (I WISH)... moreso the unapologetic prominence of the location: an Irish Whiskey placed haphazardly amongst the shelf intended for Scotch. I pointed it out in the comments a week or two ago, and it appears my chops are being busted for it haha
Longmorn changed the color of the box from green to purple, same 48% abv and tripled the price. They are more expensive than Macallan now... and they go into the Chivas Blend... total BS
sooooooo... before I say anything else, can I ask who wrote that sign? Because if it was one of your kids, I don't want to say anything insulting, but, judging by that handwriting... wooosh
My favorite episode thus far.
I can't imagine why... haha thanks Terry👍😄
Terry did they end up sending you that bottle ??
yes - this is for science - while pouring more whiskey and Rex is looking at the camera and smiling :-)
The mooch moment at 10:22-25 is Rex working on a whole other level of mooch expertise ... I am stunned and amazed
I broke down and bought the purple Longmorn 16 this morning. I went to another store in the afternoon and found the original Longmorn 16! Seriously?!? How could I not buy it too after this episode??? I think I'll never open it...

Just cracked a bottle. I think I have a new favourite. That pepper at the end! Oh man!
Thankyou Dan for expressing in the best layman's way.
That's why I follow you and Rex.

Like a blister in the sun Daniel!
You guys are growing so fast im scared youre gonna become mainstream XD but congrats and may the whiskey forever flow
Third Gravitating Body.......This channel and Rex!!!!!
Love what you guys do!!! Cheers
talk to me more about my body you salty animal. 😅
cdn.meme.am/cache/instances/folder773/500x/80162773.jpg
this would have made the movie 10X better, and the adventures would have been much more scandalous. 😅
This video was much needed. Thanks for letting me escape my day for a bit. cheers

if only you knew the rest of the story... 😯
I like story time. I think we need a "Story Time with Rex" now.
most are my stories are dirty limericks
This video has made me buy a bottle of the Longmorn 25 Year Old Boutique-y Whiskey Company bottling! Can't wait to finally try Longmorn!
Yes!!
The three body problem is an example of a chaotic stochastic system, which is found all over science and studied by chaos theory. It also contributes to why is hard to predict the weather.

Rock solid.
I have a 15 (labelled as a Highland not a Speyside), a 16, and a Distiller's Choice, and oh man I love'em all.
Longmorn is second only to Lagavulin 16, in my humble opinion.
Agreed
Speyside is basically a subset of the Highland category anyway.

Rex i would like to hope so haha!
Daniel, you just broke the whisky drinkers rules on Longmorn - one does not talk about Longmorn. Its much better just kept amongst ourselves. Love the old 16 I still have a spare bottle, just incase it disappears.
Oh crap.

Down to my last 2 bottles of the old 15yo, a great malt and was $45 back in the day!...and it is BETTER than the 16yo.
That was my impression and Ralfy's as well.
Have you had the 15 yo Daniel?
I have an unopened bottle of the older 16yo that I got for $70. They wan't $300 for the new one here in N.S. I'll never know what that tastes like nor do I want to. Gougers.
@@JimmyLeg 300dollars? For the new longmorn 16? No way.
Hey guys! Would be interested to see you do comparison between Johnnie Walker Blue label, and Johnnie Walker Green label. I have heard many people say that the green label is a superior whisky and it is less than half the price of the "overrated" Blue label. I have watched your review on the green label but would like to see how you guys think it stacks up against the blue label.
i dont think we have the Blue. but if we ever get one, i'm in!
If any of those original 16s are up for sale/trade, let me know! I fell in love with it just as they went out of production. Was able to special order the new "luxury" release and going to crack open tonight.
Thrist!? I know I am. Great video guys!
as we all know, getting whiskey for free generally qualifies one as a mooch. but i recently got to take home a nearly full bottle of the classic laddie from work and im wondering if that counts as a mooching or was it simply just work since i was paid for it??
Every now and then you guys let the ass hat veneer slip and we see a little more of the profesional.
Just watched 9:20 - to 12:10about 8 times!
You mean the rare 3 minutes in the last 160 videos where the shenanigans took a pause while stone cold reviewing happens. lol. It was a good 3 minutes, but we can't have too much of that or it just wouldn't be right.
Terry well said, Daniel is lucky bastard.
Kings X. SRV. You two are beginning to reveal your depth. Drinking whiskey, having this tribe, combining music of spiritual cult following.....you're slowly indoctrinating us all into your creation. What are you plans, Sirs!!? Where are you taking us? What will we become? (as if knowing and perhaps not agreeing would stop us from following you anyway)
Good to know Rex can take the full assault of his acclaimed throne and come out on top. Daniel seems to know his fate and embraces it without shame or regret....well, as long as there's whisky involved. Great vid guys. Tell Chad thanks as well.
so.... what do you think of the pile-o-whisk(e)y you bought??? any favorites? disappointments?
I'll follow Andrew's lead...)
just blew my mind with that physics stuff
its pretty trippy when you learn how many things that theory applies too. if you study it long enough to practically apply it to your work, shit gets real.
Hey Daniel... you know what... the longhorn 16 years original, it's still readily available in Belgium about 15 miles from my home, I just bought 6 bottles this morning :)
I found 2 bottles of the Original 16 yesterday for $116 a piece...I literally cried with joy
11 bottles of longmorn under your stairs ....Hmm I didn't see Rex pour that into 5 gallon water jug 🤔
King's X, now there's a band I haven't heard in a long time!
This is my favorite review. After visiting speyside this last fall, I'm kicking myself for not visiting this distillery.
If you ever find yourself in gothenburg. Eat at THE GOLDEN DAYS. They have a seperate book for whisk(e) y and beer. They even have Longmorn 15. Proud 19 year old fan here. I turn 20 this mounth and in sweden you can then buy boose leagaly.
wow wow wow pump those brakes team!!
Thats two days in a row with flawless intro delivery. You guys going pro?? :D hehe
making easier for new viewers to figure out what this channel is all about. don't worry, i'm sure we'll forget all about it and go off the rails in the next few episodes. 🙃
hahaha Nah im just poking fun dude. I think its legit. You are carving out a very discernable brand and personality. Its cool dude
let me put it this way. rails are boring, and i fully intend to sabotage our practical channel building decisions in the near future.
interesting . . .. .
Love the toast at the end boys!! I'm going to memorize that one!
i recently purchased Monkey shoulder and i must say, i love it. it is such a nice blended malt. I have only just gotten into whiskey and have tried a variety i like. Are there any scotch's you would recommend for someone that has a £50-£60 per bottle budget and likes smoky scotch but also Irish whisky?
Track down some Teeling!
Whiskey Vault have you reviewed teeling?
Not yet! But I love them.
Best damn episode yet!
So while ya'll are in scotland you should try to get ahold of the couple that signed the glenmorangie bottle and see if he'd let you interview him for the channel
That would be amazing.
Thoughts?
Screw breaking into a liquor store.
Mental note, stairs closet in Daniels oriface...
sounds like a caper... i'm in.
Rex really listened and didnt talk, and we dont know if he like the longmorn or not?
im going whiskey shopping tomorrow, if you can get one compass box whiskey which one would it be?
If they have "not a luxury whisky" it's amazing. Spice Tree is great, Asyla is good, and Hedonism is pretty unique and tasty.
laphroiag or peat monster?
Laphroaig. But peat monster is tasty.
No Name if you can find it
Nice review.
That would be amazing! How about their Oregon Single Malt?
austinwhiskyvault.com/whisky-donations/
Jered Lowe did i miss something or do they have a dead guy?
Indeed, they do and it's probably their best spirit overall. I listed it, but it's buried in the wall of text
Went to the store to pick some up, and spotted another Oregon single malt but it's peated. I cannot send both, unfortunately, but I know how much you two like your peated whiskies. It's McCarthy's Oregon single malt
Thought I would give you a choice haha
Tried both, Malt has the newer edition and I just had zero luck with anyone else lol Thanks though gents, appreciate the help :)
This channel is like a 3rd gravitational body!
How long till the Longmorn 23 review is up!?
Hi:
Love this episode.
How does someone get the older Longmorn 16??? Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
John
That is probably one of my favorite toasts
The scoundrels toast is the first toast I have seen to silence a bar.
I completely agree! Oban 14 does too.
Hey guys, what does that note say that's taped to the bottle of writer's tears? I can make out Jon, but that's it.
greataxe3, "this is for Jon Stothfang". He left a comment about how much it bothered him that we left the writers tears on the wrong shelf. Just an Easter egg / ball busting
Ahh. Thanks. I noticed an Easter egg!
My parents live in Longmorn. The distillery is really close to Ben Riach.
Oh it's magic, whisky magic.
as evidenced by the beard sparkles.
gonna have to find me a bottle of the longmorn 16 now... I NEED TO KNOW WHAT SORCERY IS IN THAT WHISKEY!
We do not speak of it.
Hey Daniel why do all single malt whisky have corks while blended whisky don't, is there a reason?
Hey you Magnificent Bastards! I just booked a trip to Ireland in May. Are there any interesting whiskey's I can purchase there that I can't find in the US?
I. Love. Your. Hat.
I have a thing for "cowboy" hats, in almost all their forms. that is a pretty hat. Almost as pretty as the slick hairdo on Darth Mooch
Thank you!
I may have to pick this up now. I saw 1 single bottle at the store the other day. Got to admit, I didn't knew much about Longmorn and now I fear the bottle is gone.... :S
Call them quickly!
We're you able to pick it up?
These original bottles are going for 300e.. I think I will be fine with buying the new release from regular stores..
I found a bottle of the new purple Longmorn 16 yr at my local Total Wine for $99, is this malt worth the price?
Guys I love the old Longmorn 16 the new bottle is ok but not like the old!!! Am trying to buy as much as I can but its becoming a struggle to get hold of the old bottling!!!
Hi guys!, I have been watching you for a while now and have learned a lot from you. I have always been a fan of whisky and mostly speyside whiskys. I have happened to have an old Longmorn 16 and loved it, but then didn't realised how rare it now is. I have now picked up a Longmorn master distillers choice. I think its really good, would love to know what you guys think of it if you have tried it?
Daniel's used to feeling leather on his bottom.
Peter Schumacher I'd believe it in one vid he did go in depth of what kinda leather a whisk(e)y smelled like seems suspicious
Peter Schumacher, I'm frustrated that i can only give this comment 1 thumbs up. 😄
6:23 never trust a fart
Damn it Daniel I want to know the story about the hat
10:17 - A Master Mooch at work
what does the paper on the Writer's Tears say?
it says, " i know what you did last weekend, chuck430..." the note just showed up there one day... so weird.
Ha, great reference to King's X. I was thinking Dream Theater or Pixies as other examples of 'bands that only other bands/musicians listen to.'
Okay, I found the old Longmorn 16. Rex, how was it? You didn't actually give your opinion and Daniel is a fan, so the emotions might be clouding the verdict.
its exceptional. no doubt. its one of daniel's favorites, bar none, so he took center stage on the whole review.
I've heard knob Creek makes a good Rye....
Have you tried that particular version and if so do you recommend I pull the trigger??.. thanks
It's beautiful and worth the price for a really special bottle. But in it lacks the haunting magic of the original 16
Whiskey Vault thanks for the advice I’ll prolly have him pull the trigger.. any good resources you know of to get the original 16??
STOGIE WOLF'S TRIUMPHANT RETURN!!!!
ya just can't keep a good stogie wolf down.
Daniel's a long mom aficionado.
LMILF
that mother*have chad insert cork sound here*
1:12 Chad
beard sparkles galore.
its more sad if sparkles don't excite you. they are the epitome of whiskey magic
Now I need to remember this video for future shenanigans :D
Terry Dolan lol! I totally missed that. Is this a regular thing Chad slips in?
charlie.g.hague he started it a few videos ago, he said he was going to slip them into the odd video now to keep us on our toes.
Anyone know any stores in London or Scotland (Edinburgh) that I could find this?? Traveling there this next week
I'm sure there is more information I should know. thanks
Yeah, we talked about this in the earlier videos, but:
*Store them like wine. darker places, cooler temps.
Fucking love Kings X. Never heard anyone else talk about them.
Spent about 3 hours trying to convince my local bottleshop vendor that all bourbon is whisky but not all whisky is bourbon!
......I want one
So, when you tell us about the hat, also let us know if Jon got his Writer's Tears... LOL
Jon Stothfang, 😂😂😂
Pickles are the third gravitating body in the Popeye's Chicken Sandwich.
Longmorn changed the color of the box from green to purple, same 48% abv and tripled the price. They are more expensive than Macallan now... and they go into the Chivas Blend... total BS
Daniel, your medallion is on backwards (at first anyway).. :P
Yeah. I didn't notice that till we watched the video after.
Whiskey Vault You should make like a random section of a video where your wearing a flava flav clock and never aknowledge it. It would be hilarious.
Wow.....you can get your physics questions answered here too! Who knew? Lol!
Their Supreme Moochestry Moochallosaurus Rex
Ahhh, yeah. I never thought about that. Who is the real mooch? LOL
sooooooo... before I say anything else, can I ask who wrote that sign? Because if it was one of your kids, I don't want to say anything insulting, but, judging by that handwriting... wooosh
'Tis evidence that Daniel can write and drink at the same time....as necessary a skill as talking and pouring simultaneously.:)
