  • Chelsea have very large problems to deal with at the moment. From teammates fighting while being 4 goals up, to owners that confuse the faithful support.
    And I still don't understand Nicolas Jackson.

      @@Osama-KIN_TMZ01 nah... barcelona is still relevant , even though considerably weaker than what they used to be.
      They still managed to win Laliga against the european champions and the other european champions and it took a ridiculus Red card in order to get knocked out of CL this year...
      Getting knocked out by mbappe and losing against real madrid and even making them work for it...Is there really a big shame into those?
      Chelsea on the other hand, spends billions.. WAY more than barcelona, only to get placed #10+ in the PL table and take 5 balls from an arsenal that lost to the worst bayern of the decade.
      And Btw there is a team in PL that literally spent 100M for freaking antony...You still think that barcelona is the worst?

      @@akhsdenlew1861 I think you might need to do some research on Barca's situation lad, because you clearly don't know how deeply rooted it is. Barca is still relevant because they literally NEED to, just to save themselves from complete bankruptcy as they gambled the next 25 years of their club for that. They sold major percentage of the club's future and mix that with a lot of their privileges despite having already going bankrupt, when they were arguably the second richest club in the world just a decade ago. Chelsea is simply bad at handling money they have, Barca was horrible at handling money THEY DON'T HAVE, they still haven't paid the loans for newer players like De-Jong or even older ones like Coutinho..
      I genuinely recommend you to look it up, looking at how much the previous two presidents screwed up Barca would make think the American at Chelsea is cute in comparison.

    Chelsea tried to make what Real Madrid did, bringing in younger players full of potential for the future. They just forget the part where you slowly introduce those players to the squad while mantaning plenty of your experience leaders in the rotation as well. Then those older players, one at the time, leave the club to make up space for the now ready-to-be-stars mid-20 yos.

      gusto has been good and was actually underhyped (Lyon fans were saying he was trash), Jackson as well for his price and experience has been solid, the board screwed him by not bringing in an actual striker to help ease the load (this was supposed to be Nkunku but he got injured before the season even started). Caicedo and Enzo are a bit overhyped but that's more bc of their pricetag which they can't control, Enzo was very good under Potter and has been playing through a hernia issue which has now gotten surgery on and is out the rest of the season. Caicedo has been pretty solid all season pretty much playing in a 1 man midfield, he just had some big mistakes that cost us some points. also none of these guys are on big wages besides Sterling who has definitely been underwhelming this season

      It's just his style isn't exactly what is required from a team like Chelsea. In smaller teams, no problem if you're a creator striker that relies on your teammates a lot. But in bigger clubs, you have to be able to create goals by yourself, especially in hairy situations.

    • @AyyyFabo
      @AyyyFabo 9 днів тому +6

      @@BrightenedNote he has 12 goals and 4 assists in all competitions not bad for a 22 yo striker who was playing barefoot in Senegal 6 years ago. He’s also not a natural number 9 he was a winger until Villarreal converted him to striker midway through their season last year in which he scored 13 goals in 13 games and that’s pretty much how we ended up buying him. He wasn’t supposed to be the main guy that was supposed to be Nkunku but he’s been injured all season. Only thing Jackson lacks is finishing and composure he does everything else in terms of hold up play, passing, making runs and even his pressing at a very high level especially given his age and experience level.

    To play devil's advocate for Clearlake and to give context to Chelsea, I will say the following:
    - A lot of the players brought before weren't this injury prone, this is only something that has happened this season.
    - Of those players brought, a lot were expected to be given time to grow.
    - Jackson was brought a 2nd striker as a back up to Nkunku or to play in a front 2.
    - Badiashile and Disasi aren't that mistake prone, it's only when they play together they are. (They are having to play together as we have no other CB.
    - Silva's age has caught up to him and we can only really play him in a back 3, which we don't have any wingbacks to do this atm.
    - Despite scoring 2 goals against City, Sterling hasn't been a good senior example for the players and is in awful form/confidence atm.
    - Poch has brought out the best form from Gallagher and since then, the reports of him leaving has died down. (Probably why we're looking to sell Maatsen instead now)
    - Enzo and Caicedo don't seem to play well, Caicedo's best performance's have been without Enzo. but Enzo has been playing with an injury for half the season.
    End of the day Poch has done a poor job managing this team and both him and the board has done a poor job explaining the project and taking the pressure off this team.
    I reckon we need to do some finetuning of replacing of the squad dynamics (need an out and out LB who is not injury prone) and to prevent the constant injuries from happening (which the club does seem to be investigating.
    Once we have a fit team again, we should have a clearer idea as to where this club actually stands

    • @AyyyFabo
      @AyyyFabo 9 днів тому +1

      this is 100% facts, fully agree with every point you made. I think Caicedo and Enzo can work but we need a true DM behind them whether thats Lavia or Ugochukwo as Enzo/Caicedo aren't really DMs

    • @therockbat
      @therockbat 4 дні тому

      Thing is:
      - Nkunku is not a striker. If Chelsea think he is, that is serious misprofiling. He is a 8/10. Which means Jackson, the striker converted from winger, is the only option upfront. Palmer is a wide striker.
      - Thiago Silva should have been phased out much earlier.
      - Sterling is still somehow Chelsea's best attacking option.
      - Enzo is a Fabregas-esque player with much less defensive awareness/contribution, Caicedo is more of a box-to-box type (not at Kante's level), Lavia is a dribbling CM a.k.a not an anchoring type, Ugochukwu is an unfinished product. Chelsea midfield is a mess, only held together by Gallagher, who can do a bit of everything (think of him as the Cobham version of Darren Fletcher).
      - Chelsea will sell Maatsen to balance the book, but they cannot get rid of Cucurella, a very bad LB who can neither get his defensive posture and positioning correctly nor complete a decent pass forward.

      Gallagher has been our best player and the only one actually showing passion to play for us.
      Cucurella has actually been decent for us and shows up in big games.
      Enzo has stopped being made to push up as far, making him more defensively solid and has been playing through an injury.

    I can remember the club being relegated.
    Clearlake and Boehly have no clue how to build a football club.

    The main problem Chelsea have is, they’ve been missing half their team with injuries for most of the season. That’s right, players who definitely would have started in the side. Reese James, Wesley Fofana, Levi Colwill, Ben Chilwell, that’s your first team defence. Romeo Lavia only played 32 minutes of the season and the biggest loss of all Christopher Nkunku, the best finisher at the club, who was signed to score the goals, he was absolutely superb in preseason until a tackle by Hummels ruined his season. Put the six of them in the team and the season would have been a whole lot different.

    Get a good systems coach like Alonso, Pep, Arteta, Klopp and understand his vision of football and his system
    Step 2
    Use analytics to assess the players required for his system

    Build slowly and as economic as possible. Dont buy sox players in one window. Buy three at most.

    Nicholas Jackson is easy to explain. He was brought as a second striker and performs best with another attacker playing in tandem with him. But Nkunku has been injured all season and so he has to play as a lone striker which he isn't great at
    It's also his first season and it's rare for a striker to come out the gates firing in their first season.
    He does play well with mudryk playing off him, but as we have no wingbacks atm, Mudryk is being forced to play in an almost wingback position, so that Disasi/Cucurella/Chalobah doens't have to push forward as far.

    It does not matter how much the fans support and love their club, how much trafition andhistory Chelsea has. All the great moments, titles etc dont matter bc the money is "gone" and investors are trying to squeeze Chelsea for therestof it.

    It takes time to build a new team, many successful clubs had to go through years of pain whilst they developed. Arsenal, Liverpool are two recent examples.
    Young squad with little senior players has not helped.
    Jackson scoring is a current issue, he hasn’t had another regular striker competing for the position. One thing that has impressed me is he has never stopped. He misses chances but still makes the runs, seeks out the ball and gets more chances. This is in every match, many other more experienced strikers confidence would be in pieces but he keeps trying and he is really young.
    The whole Chelsea project is a new way of doing business, only in a few years will we see the true results. I don’t agree with a lot of decisions but although I am a 55 year old supporter I realised years ago that I have zero control. You can’t change the team you support (unless you are a plastic supporter).
    The future is unwritten, if you had told me at the end of the season we would have reached a cup final which we had many chances to win, a semi final which we had many chances to win and we are still in with a chance of European football next season I would have taken that.
