I pulled the trigger on this knife and I'm in love with it. The main thing that sold me on it was the weight. I have other knives that simply are too heavy for a daily carry. That being said, great video
I’ve been debating on getting this exact Claymore or getting a shootout. I really only carry 3 knives in my rotation: main is a 20CV gray g10 version Grip and then I have a Spyderco Yojimbo. Not sure whether I should get a Claymore or a Shootout as my first OTF. I think the Shootout is a more practical carry as a cutter since that’s my main use, but the Claymore with the serrations is just sick and having a double edge is a clear advantage with an OTF
I think I want one. It’s crazy, but the cheap feeling synthetic handles are grippier and lighter, AND won’t show rough handling. Drop an aluminum handled Microtech on a concrete floor vs this. Which one will make you more sick?!? That said, I wish it was blackened Magnacut instead. At least as tough and far less likely to rust. Of course I think THE best steel for an OTF dagger is 14C28N, but Benchmade doesn’t use it. Why? It’s as tough as 3V, very corrosion resistant, is very inexpensive, will take a wicked edge and easy to sharpen. Yes, edge retention is lacking, but this is a defensive weapon, not a daily user. You won’t be using it to dull it.
Hey Rob, I remember you not liking Chinese knives. You should look at a we vision r though. It’s his take on a sebenza insingo. Maybe the best knife ever made imo. Be interesting to see your take. Note: this is the only Chinese knife I own or have ever owned over $75
Thanks for the review Boss! I have one inbound!

Crkt does have some flat top veff serrations similar to those

Bench made knives are mostly overpriced, unfortunately.
Nice
I can’t get into the polymer handle. It feels and looks cheap.
