Greatly appreciate you sharing your talent Karen producing an amazing detailed painting, I find your inspirational video enjoyable and very informative thank-you
Hi Karen, lovely video, thanks so much! I was thinking it would really be great to see a seascape tutorial with a lighthouse included. It could be a daytime serene scene or a windy cloudy day building up to rain or a nighttime scene with a boat on moonlit water coming towards the shore with the lighthouse lights on. I love lighthouse paintings! 😊 It would be wonderful if you would consider doing one.
Wow - thanks so much for this. I was just thinking last week how I need to learn techniques for waves and had ordered a book on it! This will be great to try!
Awesome how you "crafted out" this wonderful painting. Thank you so much for showing it, dear Karen😍❤💖. I do have my little problems with masking fluid, but I'll give it a try nonetheless. I'll take another paper like last time and let the masking tape dry for at least one hour. Last time I tested it and it seemed dry after half an hour and as soon I painted over it, it came off in little pieces🤔
I hope you have more success with the masking fluid. Test it on the paper before using it. Make sure your painting is absolutely dry before removing the masking fluid.
Karen, I found it difficult to make a real creamy opaque colours using this watercolour cake/pan. 😭Is that the reason why most professional artists use tube watercolour instead?
I used 300 g cold pressed 100% cotton watercolour paper. I would test your paper before using masking fluid. Some papers do not like masking fluid. Unfortunately hope this was helpful :-)
I swear, this isn't the video I viewed about a month ago. In that video you demonstrated a great technique for applying masking fluid. Did you post a previous video by mistake and then take it down? I l also left a great comment for that video and it's not here. What happened? Thanks.
You are right, there are two versions of this video. Here is the link for the version where I apply the masking fluid:ua-cam.com/video/4h02pPZH2fw/v-deo.html

@Karen Rice Art thank you, dear Karen, I'll do as you said. So sweet of you ❤️
It's beautiful Karen. Wish u could tell how to make the wave
I was wondering also how to make the wave. It almost looks like the masking fluid was put into a spray bottle? Super cool
I spotted some of the masking fluid with an old toothbrush

It’s difficult to get thicker washes with pans, you could invest a a few tubes. Ultramarine, Burnt Sienna and Yellow.
Good question! I have the same problems.
@@KarenRiceArt Ah alright. I think I do need to try tubes myself to feel the difference. Thanks for the recommendation! 💗:)
What paper did you use? The masking fluid often tears the papers I use

Beautiful how do u do it.
Thank you
