I love how Tengen is basically a living contradiction. He's the most visually flamboyant character we've seen so far and he's the Hashira of _sound,_ but he's also a ninja that you can't see or hear unless he wants you to
Well yeah. That's always been a ninja concept. It's not a contradiction at all. Naturally, someone who can manipulate sound would know how to not make any.
@@austincavalier1760 yeah but his attacks boom, which in contrast ninjas make little to no sound at all. And like he said he's very flamboyant and vibrant while ninjas like to keep hidden and stay low. It ties in his backstory in which he rejects the shinobi ideology and beliefs, which is why he tells his wives to value lives over their missions, when shinobis believe the opposite.
@@jounamo6035 oh yeah i get it, but he's still very much ninja like, especially considering the history of anime ninjas. Hiding in plain sight due to his handsomeness and charisma, using loud attacks so his opponent cant hear, but being able to hear everything through the booms because he specialized in sounds, and using ninja tools to his advantage every chance he gets. It's actually genius because of how many ppl will say hes not very ninja-like, but all they have to do is pay close attention to realize he is, in fact, a bad ass ninja. Edit: it also just dawned on me that there is NO "ninja way" or "ninja code" in actual history. Ninja's were born of necessity and the will to survive. They didn't have hidden villages and use ninja arts to fight people. They used grapples, gunpowder, and oil. They hid their faces to protect their families. So technically anime creators have an open canvas as to what they wish to do for character designs.
I mean after the Mugen Train smashed box office: They had a lot of Budget and respect for these guys I mean like These guys were truly like smooth criminals in the animation department
Honestly the final fight was just astounding, the animation quality was just perfect the cgi didn’t look like cgi the choreography and the camera work was honestly beautiful, 100% best season so far
Uzui's musical score technique deserves more credit. From the beginning, he was struggling against the demon never being able to attack, just from being overwhelmed. the longer the fight went on the better he was getting at turning the incoming attacks into literal music to his ears, making the attacks easily block able. this ability works so well, he was poisoned, and without an arm and still was able to break away from defense to go on offence and give us one of the best fight scenes in anime. reading the manga helps me appreciate these little details so much more. his Musical score, his fingertip grip, and bombs all give him something special to his fights.
Yeah that fingertip one was really surprising to me when I first read the manga, and also the humans look at the sky when they give up part was more meaningful to me when I read the manga, but maybe that's because I already read the manga years back before watching the anime
That’s literally the reason his ability makes no sense, since he showed absolutely no musical ability and all of a sudden mozart enters his body. Why are you applauding this blatant plot armor, think for yourself instead of being mesmerised by the pretty colors. The story and character building suck and are nonexistent. “Oh my god Uzui was struggling so he pulled up a musical score out of his ass and thats so cool and makes sense because he was dying of poison wow so genius” listen to your self.
This season didn't feel like a "season" it felt like watching a 12 episode movie! Mad respect to the animators, they really set their hearts ablaze for this season ❤️

Ufotable gets the same budget as other animation studios in Japan. The reason why their work stands out is because they have a dedicated digital team that blends their 3d animations with their 2d animations. Their studio has a lack of walls, allowing each department to work closely together on creating visually appealing frames and to build a strong sense of rapport. Nozomu Abe's memorable scene for the final fight was definitely the best Ufotable has done since the Fate movies. Edit: sources are Canipa Effect videos on Ufotable and the interview with Yuichi Terao, Chief of Ufotable's Digital Team on Anime News Network. Also yeah the CEO did pay back the tax evasion scandal. He did it to invest in his animation team and to keep his animation company afloat, while its bad it makes sense.
Fr I hate this misconception that bigger budget = better animation in the anime industry, it’s super frustrating. The biggest things that create amazing visuals are time and talent, no amount of money can replace those 2 things.
Yes absolutely couldn’t of said it better myself like look at fate zero fate unlimited blade works and the heavens feel movies they look absolutely beautiful yet had the same budget for any normal anime
the animation on the last episodes deserves all the praise, i have no idea how they just keep getting better and better. and the soundtrack was just a blessing
I think other than the fight scenes, my favorite animated part was uzui’s visualization of sound. It was drawn like taisho era art (which is the time period KNY is in) and it flowed BEAUTIFULLY
I was shocked when I read the manga and noticed that there was never even a visualization of what his technique looks like. I love that ufotable went further than the manga in that respect and showed what his technique looks like.
Tengen's breathing style was so beautifully animated His fight with gyotaro was astounding The animation in ep 10 was beyond normal.. I'm thoroughly satisfied and amazed by this season

So many people flake demon slayer for being too “simple” or the characters are just “undeveloped” and honestly there’s nothing wrong with a simplistic story, because they do it very well. I really like all the dynamics of the characters personally.
I don't really understand how demon slayer is claimed to be generic. I've heard people say Nezuko turning into a demon, and Tanjiro traveling to cure her is the generic bit. What exactly is generic about that, I think people are mixing up the words generic and predictable
Im kinda one of those people. I am really entertained by the show, but it doesn’t really stick with me because of the simple plot, story and consept. Plus I find many of the characters so annoying since they basically only have one personality trait.
Yeah, I remember interaction with three people like that and one was just straight up hateful. The second guy didn't like Tanjiro and the third was hating on the "simple story". I lost contact with the hateful person and the 2nd one mentioned liked the series after a while when Tanjiro grew on him. The third guy who hated the story is planning on watching the show.
as a manga reader, ive got to say zenitsu has probably the best character development in the whole series. cant wait for it to be animated so y'all can see it.
Wouldn’t say zenitsu had the best character development. All the hashiras in the infinity castle arc popped off and had meaningful scenes and zenitsu was just badass x1000 to avenge his grandpa
its not simple or generic, it just has clear purpose and goals leading up to an actual ending unlike every other shonnen that's never going to end even after the creators die. Character motivations are all elaborated on in backstories. There's also no infinite power scaling, people reach and surpass their limit in exchange for not living past 25.
Honestly I would agree with you if the entire Demon Slayer Saga was just a 1 minute video of how animation could be (on shows who deserve it), BUT 2 WHOLE SEASONS AND A MOVIE? Idk man if you aren’t getting insane with the same formula than you’re just a boring person and that’s that.
@@tellurianapostle you are lying to yourself or you havent watched enough shonen if you think demon slayer is not generic. literally every shonen ever have "clear purpose" and "goals" (id hope so since these a major components in what makes a story a story). now, demon slayer being generic is not what makes the story subpar, its the bad writing and dialogue at certain points that makes the story subpar. (spoilers) ex1. inosuke surviving what appeared to be a clean stab through the heart but he survived since he is just able to shift his internal organs? ex2. nezuko just being able to burn the poison away saving all the characters that were poisoned? ex3. the show treating their audience like they are 2 years old by having the characters monologuing every single action that occurs.
"Full throttle nuts to butts." This phrase perfectly sums up the second half of Demon Slayer. It was amazing. I love the story and the action. The animators and directors deserve all the credit for bringing this story to life.
Not to forget the soundtrack is just on another level. And the voice actors are excellent as well. If you wonder what impact sound has, I'll just say Yoriishi flashback.
The animation, color, design, plot, character development, sound, pacing, everything was just so FUCKING PHENOMENAL. They did so amazing I literally left the last episode with my mouth open it was so jaw dropping
I am not exaggerating when I say that this was absolute fire, it had some of the best fight seems and animation I have ever seen. Like the animators just went all out on this, props to them.
@@ricesasaurus1245 if we're out here recommending anime I recommend kingdom and world trigger. The first season's animation is rough but the narratives are very strong.
I loved how they portrayed when multiple villains were attacking multiple heroes in separate battles Really conveyed the pure chaos that are their battles
It didn't really make sense to me how Daki was able to attack Uzui and Zennitsu and Inosuke, and then also Tanjiro and Hinatsuru, with no one able to advance on her until Inosuke decides to make a 0 iq zerg rush (and have it work, ofc). lmao Just bad writing, imo.
I know I haven’t watched the video, but Tengen Uzui’s character was one of my favorites in here, purely because of how _flamboyant_ the man was, and how well he handled everything. Of course Rengoku’s character was amazing too. And I finally feel like this season, especially in the Mugen train Arc, Inosuke finally got his true time to shine.

During the first fight with Tanjiro and Daki my thought was, "The animation seems lesser than S1 and Mugen train but this is Ufotable, they're probably saving their Diamonds for later" and Diamonds they delivered.
How spoilt on good animation are you to try n' imply that any moment of animation in Demon Slayer was generic? Ufotable redefined what good animation is back with Unlimited Blade Works. And they are nothing but consistent. Even when they're just standing there n' talking, the whole screen looks beautiful. Don't take it for granted.

@@AWanderingSwordsman i guess thats why they train to master Total Concentration Breathing: Constant, so that they can keep getting back up and fighting until all their limbs are cut off or they're straight up dead
I love Demon Slayer for the exact reason Charlie said. It's a simple story to follow and as someone who knows the upcoming events and characters, the most charming part of the manga and soon to be anime is the characters. Everyone has a charming or interesting flare to them that isn't always visible at a first glance it makes me love each and every character we get to meet in the story.
And it even makes you feel really sympathetic towards the demons too! Like damn they’ve been through so much when they were humans and I honestly cried several times throughout this whole ride so far lol
Felt that way about Zenitsu in this season. Gets a lot of hate because he screams, but the way he acts is pretty relatable considering what he's up against. This season he carried hard.
This was so good that my family (minus my mom) binged the entire season in one sitting. Me and my siblings were screaming, crying, laughing, just going apeshit. And it was AMAZING. My heart was racing so fast afterwards and I had a huge headache after screaming so much. We got so hyped just watching it and I absolutely loved this season. So intense, so immersive, so gorgeous, so incredible. Demon Slayer never disappoints.
Yeah like when he used his own attack to launched himself to gyutaro and him coughing up blood in the middle of the fight throwing his duel sword and catching it
I think zenitsu's character developed a good amount. In season 1, he hid behind a child and deluded himself into thinking the child killed the demon. In season 2, he sensed a high ranking demon and not only did he not run away, but stood his ground to protect children even though it got his head thrown through a wall
@@soccerboyluke It... literally does though. It shows where somebody was compared to where they are now. They had to have development to get there. Do you expect the man to recount the entirety of both seasons or something?
@@soccerboyluke it literally does. Any change in character, no matter how small is growth. Him not running away, shows that he's braver. The fact that he willingly goes on solo missions by himself, show he has less insecurity and has more faith in his abilities. A stark contrast to season 1 where he didn't want to go on missions alone. And the spider fight where he had no confidence and almost gave up. Also, fo you really expect him to just change and turn into a completely different character so soon? The events of the previous season was only a few months ago in the series timeline. You can't realistically expect a kid to become 10x more mature in just a few months especially considering how drastic zenitsu's character was at the beginning. Unlike the other two, this dude did not want to be a demon slayer in the first place and only knows one form. He knows he's not as talented and that is the source of his cowardness and insecurities. Did you just expect him to magically get over these flaws that could cause him to die in just a few months time?
@@brendanrisney2449 This show is basically a procedural so having any sort of development for a character as simple as Zenitsu would require actual brain effort from the writers. It's a common trick in anime for there to be no development of characters so they can continue to reuse the same conflicts over and over. Just because the show has continued doesn't mean he has changed in any meaningful way at all. Wow its so interesting he went from scared to not scared...
Love him or hate him, Gyutaro is one of the most interesting characters I’ve seen so far, easily. He makes for a scary and formidable demon, but a great and loving brother. His final conversation with Daki, and the flashback had me in tears.

Got to say I wasn't to into Tanjiro as a protagonist in the first season but he definitely earned some brownie points with sheer badassery in this season. No random powerups to beat the overpowered villain just sheer grit and opportunistic thinking. Really liked how brutal this season was too with the fight scenes
Well actually episode 10 did introduce a semi random power up with the demon slayer mark. You can see tanjro unlocking it as he struggling to chop off gyutaros head. It will be explained in more depth in following episodes. Still a top tier anime though

Even slow moments in this show feel like good moments of growth of smaller parts but add so much depth to the characters with any new information.
The trio definetly developed a lot during and after the train arc with Rengoku, but yeah it didn't feel like there was much development during the entertainment district arc outside of every character breaking their power limits. @@calamatuz I'd disagree. The author themselves admitted that the plot is pretty basic but demon slayer does have a great story with great characters, amazing pacing and fights almost always have high tension. Not many mangas are willing to kill off their best characters or be able to give all their characters their own spotlight or not make pointless arcs/fillers
God i loved his development there, they kind of backtracked some of his development at the end, but I believe that was due to the author being rushed due to covid
I actually really appreciated them converting the movie to a mini season when extra content. One of the biggest frustrations for anime fans in the US is not getting the movies from standard streaming services. Hulu has all of Demon Slayer, and since the movie was crucial content to the story, it was nice to not have to pay to find somewhere else to overpay for the movie or find it via less legal means.
This whole season is a great example of a good production schedule and a great team setup at ufotable. i wish all anime had the kind of time ufotable did
I actually disagree with the point in the character development. Obviously there were no moments where they had some huge revelation, but there were a handful of small moments that felt natural to the story, like kanao making her own decisions, inosuke actually thinking through his actions while he’s undercover, and nezuko being all demony. I think my favorite scene what wasnt one of the fantastic fight scenes is when zenitsu stands up for the little girl that daki is bullying, since when it pans over to him his heads tilted down like it is when he’s asleep, but then he looks up and he’s wide awake, almost showing that his conscious and unconscious selves are becoming one person
This season really gave me the same feeling I had when watching the beat fights from Dragon Ball Z as a kid. The action paired with the animation was stellar, and it was non stop. The one thing I will say as far as character development, I mostly agree with Charlie here, but there were a few little growths within the series we got to see. One of them being Zenitsu, which he already mentioned, but then Inosuke, who actually came off as a bit more of a critical thinker throughout the season. He is still a literal boar, but he thinks way more than he ever did, and in a lot of ways he's starting to think more like Tanjiro. It was subtle but I thought it was really nice

Just finished binge watching season 2. 10/10. I'm a manga reader so I wasn't in a hurry to watch weekly when I knew everything that was going to happen, but I was really impressed with how Ufotable adapted the arc. The iconic panels were drawn beautifully and line delivery was perfect! The "Oniiiiii-channnnn!!!" Cry in the manga made the reader feel dread from anticipation of what was about to happen, I was scared to turn the page; in the anime it gave me goosebumps the exact same way the manga did. 10/10 I'll be watching season 3 weekly because that battle was 10 times better than this already great battle in season 2. Everyone will have their minds blown learning about mist hashira
@Game of the Year 2020 i read manga sometimes too, But the point I make is actually seeing it happen is always different from flipping pages... I read the manga for the story...i watch the anime for the art... A great example is the beginning of season 3 infinity castle... and Upper moon meeting.. the anime completed brought that to life and exceeded the manga and the impact of that moment.
By the end of the 2nd to last episode, my jaw physically dropped. I NEVER overreact or like get hype to a certain extent over shows and animes. This however literally scores as one of my favorite arcs and one of my favorite anime shows I’ve witnessed. So much time and effort put into this season and it was worth all of it
you basically just said what me and my friends said about it. its absolutely outstanding how well everything was animated, the las few episoded are insane, from choreograpy to colours and cg effects. just pure nut buster material
Spot on. This season was absolute money in the bank and pained me to have to wait a week between episodes. The only thing I’ll disagree with is the amount of character development, which may just be a vernacular difference here. Though there wasn’t a lot of depth explored, the amount of context gained by us as viewers and between characters was perfect. I think this show does an incredible job with character development and realizes the importance of showing context and not just depth.
I feel like Ufotable's strongest suit is their special effects team, because aside from some clean visuals and animation, all the amazing lighting, compositing and abilities are done by the special effects guys (From what I heard at least, overall it's amazing direction and work from Ufotable)
I sorta disagree with the character development since in ep9 tanjiro realized that gyutaro and daki and him and nezuko are two sides of the same coin, where he realized one wrong move he could’ve become like gyutaro and that’s why at the end he was able to sympathize with them
@@dwzenix7954 why shouldn’t it be? Realizing that if you were in any other situation you’d become the enemy and in tanjiros case become as twisted as gyutaro and it sobers him and humbles him and gives a scope of his responsibility to keep nezuko friendly
@Rohan Dasgupta Yeah you said it best yourself at the end there. If a character has a good personality, you don't want to change it. Nobody looks at Gilgamesh from Fate/Zero and screams bad writing just because he's the same character from start to finish. Because his character was so strong, he stole the show. Same with Light Yagami actually. The moment he became Kira in episode 2, he stayed the same until the very end. If character arcs only mean a shifting of a character, then sometimes they suck. Like, what do you even expect from Tanjiro? Do you expect him to become more edgy or something? If the character is ever gonna change, it'll be something to do with his sister. Otherwise, the character has too strong a willpower to just suddenly change like that. I'd honestly like him less if he changed his ways after the events of season 2. The fact that he still shows compassion to his enemies, despite all the shit they put him through, is just beautiful. The real world could actually use some more genuinely nice people like Tanjiro in it. The only thing I dislike about him though is how he fanboyed over Rengoku. Like, where's the self respect? But yeah, I kind of just just tuck that one under the rug because otherwise he's a great character.
I think part of the development is that this is the first time we’ve seen all 3 work together at the same time against 1 opponent. They were always split to different areas in 1 on 1 or sometimes 2 on 1 battles. But never all 3 at once. So in a way, the power up was their teamwork and coordination with each other.
Demon Slayer season 2 was just... my god amazing. Everything was just phenomenal and the animators deserve every ounce of respect and praise for what they did.
The Mugen Train thing actually counts as a separate cour from Season 2, so seeing them as different things is the way to go. (SPOILERS BELOW) I agree that there isn't much character development aside from getting stronger, but I need to applaud the fact that every character gets the spotlight, something that many Shounen fail to do. It was also the first time the Tanjiro gang actually worked together as a team, so it's very satisfying to watch unfold.
There is actually some character development, the one that stands out the most is the relationship between nezuko and tanjiro - and the paralelism between them and gyutaro and daki is beautiful -; because from now on tanjiro is going to rely on nezuko, he is going to let her fight by his side.. and the outcome shines when they team up to beat the next villain in the ironvillage arc
there's a bit of development on kanao side too as she for the first time followed her heart after the talk with tanjiro last season. this information is very vital for some of the next big fights
The very little character development for each "main" character that I saw: Tanjiro - Understood his limits wherein anger should never be an option to drive his fighting spirit because it might cause him to literally die. Inosuke - Further development on his trust of other people as well as taking in Tanjiro's trait of wittiness in his own fights. Zenitsu - Gradual improvement of getting over his cowardice (even standing up to an upper moon). Nezuko - She is probably the person that developed the most believe it or not. Same as Tanjiro, anger brings out the worst violence in them which strips them off of control. She also has accepted that her parents are deceased. She always saw her family in other people and protecting those people as a form of replacement, a common act people do when in the bargaining stage of grief. Her crying after the lullaby was her acceptance of that grief.
Don't forget about the insane parallel between daki/gyutaro and nezuko/tanjiro. As I saw someone else put it. One was betrayed by demons the other was betrayed by humans. And they met their "savior" from the opposing factions. Gotta love it
She was hypnotized to see Humans as her family by Tanjiro's first mentor(spacing on his name atm), so that she would protect them rather than try to eat them(His reasoning for the hypnosis). She wasn't doing it because of grief.

After the Mugen train just came out... I did not expect them to drop another movie! And they go ahead and hit us with one of the best animated fights of all time!
This arc truly is 9/10. This was so beautifully done. The demons back stories as well. Also the unlimited budget works. Ufotable is always just killing it.
I would give it 10/10 it was perfect to me and drawn me into the show a lot more. Even though I was a very very causal demon slayer viewer before watching the movie months late in prep for season 2, after this season I can say now I'm on board the demon slayer hype train.
@3:57 That's the rest of the series for you You are going to see this formula: 1. New hashira 2. Tragic background story mid fight 3. Power level increases that don't feel super earned 4. Lots of people dying. There is one more arc (the blacksmith arc), before a training arc, then it's a nuts-to-butts mega finale moshpit of violence. And the blacksmith arc doesn't even have zenitsu and inosuke in it It's simultaneously super rushed and super interesting in that it's kinda believable how many team ups are needed to finish up the final baddies. The end result is some rushed character development if any is given at all. Feels like the author just wanted to wrap it up. Honestly feels like we should have gotten 2 more arcs before that finale.
The animation on some of the fights in this season is literally jaw dropping, I was just sat in my chair mouth wide open watching the action unfold in awe as its quite literally the best animation I've ever seen and it deserves all the hype it gets.
The final few episodes with the fight were awesome to watch. I wish so much that the finale was better than it was. Really dropped the ball and didn’t leave me with much excitement for the next season at all

I loved this arc but I thought the sword smith village arc was pretty boring for some reason. My sister is a huge fan too and she thought the same thing.
@@austincavalier1760 his presence is distracting lol

Hi
Yeah you got a lot of material to play around with hehe!
Uzui's musical score technique deserves more credit. From the beginning, he was struggling against the demon never being able to attack, just from being overwhelmed. the longer the fight went on the better he was getting at turning the incoming attacks into literal music to his ears, making the attacks easily block able. this ability works so well, he was poisoned, and without an arm and still was able to break away from defense to go on offence and give us one of the best fight scenes in anime. reading the manga helps me appreciate these little details so much more. his Musical score, his fingertip grip, and bombs all give him something special to his fights.
his fighting style is the best imo really like his breathing and character hes a goat ngl

So many people flake demon slayer for being too “simple” or the characters are just “undeveloped” and honestly there’s nothing wrong with a simplistic story, because they do it very well. I really like all the dynamics of the characters personally.
100% agree. Even though the story is simple, it is good
I mean the dropped plot points are a little more than just simple, active negative

God I hope so because as it stands Zenitsu is the one thing I absolutely despise about the anime so far. He’s so fucking annoying lmao
I don't care what anyone says about the story being too "simple" or "generic". This shit slaps. Not everything needs to be 4D chess to be good.
different person have different definition of a "good" show is tho
amen
its not simple or generic, it just has clear purpose and goals leading up to an actual ending unlike every other shonnen that's never going to end even after the creators die.

Also, fo you really expect him to just change and turn into a completely different character so soon? The events of the previous season was only a few months ago in the series timeline. Fate has better animation ( no hate) it was also animated by ufotable
@@aadishah189 I think it depends on how far they can make the fight, in fate people are litterally fighting at light speeds and doing the most insane abilities around while in demon slayer its just people going around waving their swords, and for that its pretty impressive

I love how demon slayer takes the time to humanize the enemies

cuz one of the most important themes is that they were ALL human at some point, regardless whether or not they were good or bad humans
What makes this season even better is that you can finally relate to the demons and tap into their backstory which makes it even more emotional
You already saw that with rui though
@@bard1847 gyoko, nakime dont have background story, douma and hatengu's backgrounds dont have huge impact when compare to others like akaza, kokushibo and gyutaro

Personally the story is quite unique. The theme/plot is kind of generic you could say, but the story itself is a completely different thing.
@@bard1847 And another thing is as a new member of the anime cult, demon slayer was some of the best shit I've seen thought it's most likely cause I'm new but as a person getting into anime it's a really good anime which is simple to follow and is more similar to the movies/shows I/we're used to.
I think Demon Slayer is good, I don't like it but I think it's good. I think the character designs are cool, the world looks beautiful and I don't need to say anything about the fights. However, I don't think the story is as good as some people say. It's very linear, which is not a bad thing, but I see people say it's up there with fmab and that triggers me. It's good vs bad with not much in between. It's very similar to the Aizen arc in bleach where twelve moons are espadas and Muzan is Aizen

I loved this season, it was nonstop action which I loved. The only thing I will say is that the plot armour was IMMENSE. There were times where they would be a inch off of death and somehow still have the strength to fight let alone move. Still a great season and I cannot wait for the next one.
This is my biggest problem with this season as well. It was pretty much Asspulls: The Anime.
But it looked really good at least
that summarizes demon slayer. its story and characters are pretty meh nothing special but thanks to the animation its a fucking banger. sijce the manga does have the animation and sound its honestly pretty mediocre
@@calamatuz I'd disagree. The author themselves admitted that the plot is pretty basic but demon slayer does have a great story with great characters, amazing pacing and fights almost always have high tension.

I'll be honest DBZ has never hit highs as high as demon slayer animation wise. Narratively I think DBZ is better Saiyan, namek and cell saga are super iconic but the animation has never looked an inch as good as demon slayer

I actually really like Tanjiro as a character. He honestly feels like the nicest guy in all of shonen and gives even helps the worst monsters find peace. People should really stop saying it's mid for being a simple plot, it works amazingly well in its own right.
I'd argue that the nicest guy in all of shonen is Gon from HxH! But yes, I completely agree that Tanjiro is very likeable for exactly the same reasons
Its not only because of the simple plot that people think its mid, its because of the characters too and also the way they do humor, like apparently its hilarious when zenitsu whines and destroys your eardrums for the 20th time. the author seems to really like scream in your ear humor with goofy faces and one dimensional characters. But hey it was still an enjoyable watch thanks to ufotable for carrying this mid 6/10 show to an 8/10 with your incredible talents, or 10/10 if you only care about out of this world animation quality and directing.
I think tanjrio being the nicest character is exactly what makes him terrible and annoying. I mean he has no edge and it’s cartoonishly naive.
@@Angeltze3 oh hell no. Gon had issues, really bad issues. Him being nice comes from naivety, but his attitude made me uncomfortable at times.
It being animated always adds a different element though
@@22s22a that's not the case for Tokyo ghoul, Boruto, promised neverland, berserk, seven deadly sins, etc.
I haven't watched anime in a pretty long time, and decided to binge this yesterday. And all I have to say is it was, a phenomenal experience.
Manga reader here, Zenitsu will surprisingly become a better character in later on.
I agree
I feel like Ufotable's strongest suit is their special effects team, because aside from some clean visuals and animation, all the amazing lighting, compositing and abilities are done by the special effects guys

I sorta disagree with the character development since in ep9 tanjiro realized that gyutaro and daki and him and nezuko are two sides of the same coin, where he realized one wrong move he could’ve become like gyutaro and that’s why at the end he was able to sympathize with them
tanjiro has been sympathizing with demons since s1, nothing new
@@tvnggg yeah, he's just a kindhearted guy and we all love him for it. You don't have to be a Light Yagami or a Guts to be a good protagonist
@@wetershinobi4111 yeah i wasn't tryna say he's a bad mc, i was just disagreeing with the idea that he had development in this arc is all
@@dwzenix7954 why shouldn’t it be? Realizing that if you were in any other situation you’d become the enemy and in tanjiros case become as twisted as gyutaro and it sobers him and humbles him and gives a scope of his responsibility to keep nezuko friendly
@Rohan Dasgupta
Yeah you said it best yourself at the end there.
But yeah, I kind of just just tuck that one under the rug because otherwise he's a great character.
it was absolutely incredible, everything i could’ve wanted and more
I think part of the development is that this is the first time we’ve seen all 3 work together at the same time against 1 opponent. They were always split to different areas in 1 on 1 or sometimes 2 on 1 battles. But never all 3 at once.
So in a way, the power up was their teamwork and coordination with each other.
Teamwork truly does make the dream work.

The Mugen Train thing actually counts as a separate cour from Season 2, so seeing them as different things is the way to go.
(SPOILERS BELOW)
I agree that there isn't much character development aside from getting stronger, but I need to applaud the fact that every character gets the spotlight, something that many Shounen fail to do.

@@_MARSyt My bad, I guess, tagged it now.
But you really shouldn't be reading comments in a review for the season if you don't want any spoilers
@@panchocatania233 Also nezuko can control that form now
The very little character development for each "main" character that I saw:
Tanjiro - Understood his limits wherein anger should never be an option to drive his fighting spirit because it might cause him to literally die.
Great observation. Unfortunately some people are not intelligent enough to understand that, and i am not talking about Charlie here.
The fight scenes with the 2nd villain (won’t say more because don’t want to spoil) honestly to me had better animation than the movie

That's the rest of the series for you
You are going to see this formula:
1. New hashira
2. Tragic background story mid fight
3. Power level increases that don't feel super earned
