Having worked in seasonal decor warehousing I can offer an explanation no one asked for, for the top of the witch sign. In the factory, they used a cheap glue and a few brad nails to assemble it. At some point after, the top of the sign came off. An employee squirted some glue on the spot and pushed the two pieces together, but didn't get it *juuuust* the right angle and wound up pressing the nails flat instead of pushing them into the signboard. Thus, two separate splotches of glue, all the nails bent, and a piss poor connection.

I carve out the light-up parts and keep them for doing cool art projects & such. One time, for party decoration, I stuck a bunch of them on the walls and stuck some of those little reusable plastic containers for lunch items over them. With all the lights off, they looked like dozens of little individual lights on the walls. The randomly shifting colors made cool patterns.
