Reggae had a huge influence on the Aotearoa New Zealand music scene in the 70’s and 80’s, we had amazing bands like ‘The Herbs’ that were all reggae. We affectionately call Bob Marley ‘Uncle Bob’ here.

Reggae is a language we sing, as well as r&b, hiphop, rap, soul, we as polynesians have a different form of these styles of music, we may do the same genre of music as most of the world we just do it differently, and im bias when it comes to the entertainment we bring to the world, thank you for your reaction.

Nz has its roots reggae vibe as well its just another influence of the nz music Reggae from the master Bob Marley

Reggae is huge in Aotearoa Near Zealand and has been apart of the Maori Culture for many years
There’s old video footage on UA-cam of bob marley coming to Nz and being greeted by the Māori people with a customary welcome called a Powhiri. 😊
