Hey my dear🖐 I know it’s confusing but vegetable oil is the worst oil for you, canola oil is better than that and olive oil is even better. Olive oil is actually good for you, it has the good oils in it. Now when it comes to vegan I have not a clue I won’t touch that with a 10 foot pole LOL Also roll the Lemon while squishing it before you cut it and it’s easier to get the juice out. I do love trying new vegetables, so many my mom and dad never cooked and I actually love. I used to only eat corn that was my only vegetable along with basic green lettuce and now I love many of them, I mean when I make steak and asparagus, asparagus is better than the steak to me. Who knew?

Olive oil and avocado oil, not canola. Vegan diets contain too many chemicals/overly processed ingredients. It's hard to get some nutrients, like vitamin B12, on a vegan diet, that is plentiful in meat and eggs. The protein in beans and most vegan sources, is an incomplete protein.

    • @mommashawna707
      @mommashawna707 2 роки тому +5

@@ritam9132 I wasn’t telling her to eat canola oil I was telling her it was better than vegetable oil explaining that vegetable oil was the bottom of the barrel because a lot of people hear vegetable and think it’s the best. The only reason why I didn’t mention avocado is because I’ve had a lot of problems cooking things with it to the point where I threw my bottle away. But that was in a spray I’m talking actual oil. I know about vegan I was meaning I didn’t know how to cook it because it’s the last thing I would ever be LOL for some reason a lot of people think being vegan means skinny and it’s just not true, there are a lot of overweight vegans because they use a lot of sugar and starches.

Usually before cooking asparagus, you cut off the bottom 2-3 inches of the stalks and discard them because they are most always woody. Cook the asparagus just until it is tender. Then it is very yummy topped with a shake of black pepper, some butter and a pinch of salt.

    • @kellymullen8265

With asparagus it will snap at the bottom where it needs to snap where the stalk won't be Woody . Instead of salt and pepper she can use Mrs. Dash it's for low sodium me and my dad uses it and it's delicious on vegetables

I had gastric bypass surgery too back in 2010 and I love spicy food! There are also other seasonings you can use to flavor your food without using salt! Also…impossible meat is actually delicious so glad you’re using it! Good luck on your food journey! Asparagus is delicious but for some people it makes your pee stink…but it’s delicious!

We used to have a similar problem cooking asparagus. You can always try baking them instead so that they're crispier and a taste sweeter!
All you do is add lemon juice with a little salt and pepper on a baking sheet in the oven. It's healthy, and they become caramalized and taste amazing. Plus it takes away the green bean taste, and it's makes it less mushy/stringy

Hi Amy, I hope you see this. You are so sweet and kind and it just hurts my soul for people to be so mean to you and talk about your house and how you take care of your sweet little angel, etc., etc., etc.. It just makes my soul ache. My husband and I were never suppose to have children and that never really bothered us until we found out how hard it was to adopt. Now that was earth shattering to me but we finally adopted our amazing son. He is so close to 40 now he's shaking hands with it but no one knows how much you crave a child until you can't have any. I was in the delivery room when he was born. Then when he was about 3 or 4, he started praying for a blond haired blue eyed baby sister. That shattered me, because that was one thing we could not give him. But guess what, when he was 5 I was so sick I thought I had cancer and was dying. LOL Well that cancer turned out to be my blond haired, blue eyed baby girl.
I want you to know this and keep it in your heart. It is such a joy to see how much you and your husband both adore that sweet little baby boy! He is healthy and happy. What else matters??? Was my home always spotless.......No. But my kids were happy and healthy. Did we spoil them too much.....Yes. But they were happy and healthy. Again, was my house spotless....No but all their friends wanted to stay at our house. Why? Because we did our best to make it a fun and safe place to be.
I'm an old woman now and I wouldn't change a thing. My kids are still happy and healthy. Their friends still come and see us just to say hi and check on us. I have been so blessed by putting my children, as well as other people's children first. What a life I've lead and I can see THAT IS THE LIFE YOU ARE LIVING!!! Don't allow bullies to change you, but I know you will stand firm in your love for your children!!!

I dig your Husband's shirt. Asparagus is great! Just snap the "woody" end off before cooking.

By the way the new kitty is adorable, congratulations! Also I have to stick up for asparagus. Rinse off your asparagus cut off the very bottom, I always look for the skinny asparagus as I can because if you don’t have them done they will be tough but I drizzle olive oil salt and pepper and I put them in a tinfoil pack and you can either bake them or put them on the grill until they’re soft. Try them that way and let us know if you like them because they are my absolute favorite.

I'm not a cat person, but Mickey is beautiful and has a cool name. Try roasted asparagus in the oven, I think you'll like that way better.

If you sautee your asparagus with butter little bit of salt and pepper or not even use the salt they're pretty good

I would stick with real high quality butter like kerygold Irish butter. The vegan butters often have inflation causing hydrogenated vegetable oils. Not everything that vegan is good for you, refined sugar and corn syrup for example.

@@missduzziemae5937 Eat whole unprocessed foods. Go for healthy fats, moderate protein (eggs, chicken, beef, turkey, pork, fish--especially salmon) and LOW carbs. Look into intermittent fasting, where you eat for a limited time (only 1-2 meals, no snacks) then fast the rest of the day. Plant based foods that mimic meat are geo-engineered and overly processed.
Low carb together with intermittent fasting is an excellent plan for type 2 diabetics.

You need to switch out to either first cold pressed olive oil or grapseseed oil to cook with. Vegetable oil is only good for when making recipes and you can't afford coconut or walnut oils. What small amount you used isn't going to harm you but there are many more options available that are actually heart healthy and have added health benefits.
Please be careful with cleaning up after the cat as you can get Toxoplasmosis from them and their litter or poo. Have Michael do the cat litter box. I had it during my 2nd pregnancy and it can cause miscarriage, stillborn, and even blindness to the baby during the pregnancy. It's easily treated but is very dangerous to both Mother and unborn baby.
Garlic and turmeric are two of the best spices available for hpb and diabetes as well as any inflammatory diseases.
I bet Gage will absolutely love him some asparagus. I didn't care for it or brussel sprouts until I was in my late 20's & am the only one who eats it in the house and love asparagus now. I pan sear it with garlic, butter, & a little Mrs Dash and cook it til it's fork tender, which is a few minutes. You can also put it in the oven for the same amount of time. The thinner the asparagus is the more tender it is. Leeks are also a really good source of vitamins and help with diabetes as well.
