That final shot between Luigi and King Boo is also great on Luigi’s end- he shies away from King Boo’s gaze at first, then returns his death glare in the final seconds before King Boo is sucked in.
It makes me so happy to see someone dissecting King Boo's motive in LM3. The shift from a desire for power to a desire to simply destroy Luigi is, as you said, really freakin cool.
I do like how the Boos have the natural abilities to create illusions, I just think it is cool, but also I like how he sees Luigi as more and more of a threat, seeing Luigi as just the weapon he uses, to the back up once he take out Mario, to finally someone who he will do anything to get his revenge on Luigi, even shown how he gets more personal in each final fight with each following game
I'll be real, I thought that the beginning implied that Luigi's Mansion came out in the 70s before the first Ghostbusters movie and was so confused for far too long
@@MrRAGE-md5rj what I meant is that when he said in the intro that nintendo gave us a good Ghostbusters game before the original property I thought he meant nintendo made a good Ghostbusters game before Ghostbusters existed, implying that the game was made in the late 70s. Obviously, that isn't possible so I was VERY confused what he was talking about. It wasn't until I rewatched the intro a few times that my dumb ass realized that he meant nintendo gave us a good Ghostbusters game before Ghostbusters made a good Ghostbusters game.
The fact that King Boo is always to effortlessly incapasitate Mario before his plans go into affect really makes me wonder why Nintendo still has has Bowser as the main antagonist of the francise. I know Bowser was "birthed" before King Boo, but King Boo is able acomplish stuff that Bowser never can/could (with a few exceptions).
I think it's because of the iconic rivalry between each duo Mario and Bowser are an iconic rivalry, so it makes sense that, in a Mario game, you face off against his greatest nemesis. Likewise, Luigi and King Boo are an iconic rivalry as well, to the point where the DS remake of Mario 64 added King Boo as the boss you fight to unlock him. That being said, it is weird that King Boo hasn't made many appearences in the main games.
King Boo is a complex villain and Bowser is not you could put Bowser in any situation and it would work since Bowser doesn't have a deep complex history or character.
With King Boo's revenge on Mario I got the strong impression that King Boo is some manner of ally to Bowser. So his revenge is less "This Mario creature invades our home! The horror!" and more "This a-hole keeps ruining my plans to get a piece of Bowser's pie!"
Tbh I mainly came to the channel for the Arkham videos, but I'm so glad this is as good if not better than the Arkham content. Keep up the good work man. This was a treat

I decided to look at your playlist of Arkham Amazing Scenes, and was extremely surprised to see you made a video on Luigi's Mansion! It was a very nice surprise of course. I love the occasional different content from time to time
Don’t forget that in the third game king boo could’ve still easily, trapped him in the painting, even though he missed the first time. But his hatred was so strong at that very moment he decided to fight him instead.
One cool headcanon for King Boo that I have is that when he says to Mario that’s “he’s caused him so much trouble in the past” in the first Luigi’s Mansion, he’s referring to the events that occur in Super Mario World and Mario 64 where Mario fights a regular Big Boo multiple times. My guess is that this “normal” Big Boo that we see in Super Mario World and Mario 64 would later go on to become the King Boo we see in the Luigi’s Mansion series. More evidence to support this theory is that we find King Boo in Mario 64 DS, but he still calls himself BIG Boo indicating that Mario 64 DS takes place in-between the events of Mario 64 and the first Luigi’s Mansion game. As for the King Boo we see in the Mario spinoff games like Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario Tennis, Mario Baseball, etc is a wannabe King Boo who is trying to take the place of the original King Boo from the Luigi’s Mansion series and is an entirely separate Boo altogether. Damn, Mario lore is freaking nuts, man.
I personally think LM2 is the best one. It was the most compelling to me. LM1 and 3 were compelling, but I don't know there's something about part 2 that the 2 other games have yet to top. Yes part 2 is more compelling than the time Luigi and friends were going to a hotel and having their souls trapped by a seemingly innocent ghost in my opinion.
Don't know what you found compelling about LM2, I personally disliked it. Was too easy in my opinion. But I respect your opinion and I would like to hear what made you like LM2 the most and I'll give it a 2nd look.
The thing about King Boo is all he wanted to do at first was trap Mario and Luigi since they’ve killed a ton of Boos but after the amount of times Luigi has foiled his plans he doesn’t care as much about the others anymore. He just wants Luigi and his friend E-Gadd to finally be out of his way.

My legit initial opinion was your exact response. I thought of something far darker than I'd really expect. Heck, it is why I personally place Dark Moon way above the first and third game respectively.
@@tantamsooksuptavon that's true. King Boo in my opinion went through a story arc as well as Luigi and Egad. If we never got a new Luigi's Mansion Game, this would be the signs of a perfect trilogy. Act 1 (first game): Luigi is a scaredy cat with no confidence in himself. King Boo is just a ghost with an passion for realistic art. Egad is a scientist who wants to study ghosts trapped in special prisons known as portraits. Act 2: (Dark Moon), King boo manages to escape his prison, and strikes Mario before he can even react, and then tries to get Egad too, only barely missing. Luigi doesn't want to go but Egad makes him help him with the whole Dark Moon event. King Boo now treats Luigi as a worthy rival, but decides to tease him before he battles him in the best King Boo Boss Battle of the 3 games. Act 3 (The Hotel): Hellen Gravely sets a trap for Egad, and with his capture releases King Boo. Who then later sets up the trap that Luigi and his friends end up setting and you talked about it. In the third act, King Boo is furious at Luigi and focuses all of his rage on Luigi. If this were a book, that would be the conclusion of the trilogy with Luigi slamming King Boo.
There's also an emerging Luigi's Mansion King boo when Bowser was in Luigi's Mansion Bowser's original plan in Luigi's Mansion is jump up in the air and landed on the Ouija taking a lot of damage from you❤ 4:54
