The reason I absolutely love this song so much is because I was just diagnosed with an incurable autoimmune disease a few months ago. It's really been kicking my ass, but I know that it's something that I can overcome if I keep working hard towards treatment. My bladder is literally being shredded to pieces, so the destruction is definitely there, but from the ashes of my roots, the new me will rise to live again. I know I'm going to be okay and this song is definitely helping me keep the mental fortitude required to get there. \m/

That rhythm thing is called syncopation :) It basically involves an instrument playing a different rhythm or beat to the core of the song itself that still manages to fit in snuggly with everything else.
This band is just amazing. From the bass lines to her low growls, flawless!

The drummer is hitting ghost notes with his snare as he is playing. Gives it a cool dimension to the song .
That`s why they did the Pisces video and re-recording the song. They loved those ghost notes and fills the other drummers didn't or weren't capable of doing. The sound of the snare and the snap it has..so cool. People always talk about guitar tone but the new drum tone in Jinjer's songs is amazing. The whole band is incredibly talented and I'm glad they are starting to get the recognition they deserve.
@@Edmundrs3rd totally agree he is a great drummer . They're other drummers were metal drummers. But new drummer seams to have a jazz influence the way he plays .
@@Themartinezjoeshow Exactly right. Look at a song like Who is Gonna Be the One and the little piece at the end of that song. That's what makes this band different.
The way he plays has become rather common in recent years with more and more bands adopting the djent sound. Tomas Haake, Jay Postones, and Mark Halpern are all examples of drummers that employ ghost notes.

This song is about the annual death of Nature in the fall, leading into a "coma" in the winter where nature lies dormant. But only temporarily as spring will return nature to life in the future. And the wait for saud eventual spring.
As usual, Jinjer kicks ass. The whole new EP they just dropped tilted "Micro" is FIRE.

This band needs to be heard. Jinjer is so unique and they are a true joy to listen to. Tatiana is probably one of the best singers in music today. The rest of the band is on another level. Progressive at its finest here. But Alex, you should react to Who Is Going To Be The One by Jinjer. The sound that comes out of Tatiana at the 4 minute mark will give you goosebumps, guaranteed!!

That band is so goddamn GOOD! I haven't listened to Metal for about 10-12 years and those guys brought me back with full force!
I love this band! So much of what they sing about is growing up in war torn Ukraine! They had to leave everything behind, including family. She's got such a phenominal voice! And this band is so tight in their playing. AMAZING! I don't think many people realize how hard it is to translate a foreign language. There aren't always words that mean the exact same thing.

But you made my days way better with your videos! You showed me new bands and new perspectives of metal. I've been a metalhead before, but I feel like I'm "into it" now.
When you reacted to Trivium "Beyond Oblivion" I really had goosebumps, because as you said in the video, listening to this kind of song made me feel "coming home". Listening to metal recently changed my life in a positive way! It helped me to cope with a lot of shit the last 2 months.
You helped me to realize there's more than just music in this genre and in all the songs.
Moreover you spread positivity and happiness in your videos. Watching them is like entering another universe where everything's great and easy....

Jinjer is single-handedly getting me back into metal, they are so diverse, and their compositions are so smart and inventive. They are a lot of fun, yet they're mature and serious. I can't wait to see them in November, we're doing the meet and greet and I'm probably going to embarrass myself with all the compliments I have to give them!

For Q you should do Quasarborn, I'm sure 99% of the audience here hasn't heard of this band, but they deserve a lot more attention.
Alex, thanks for doing this request, bro!!! Jinjer has become one of my new musical passions. As far as the song, it seemed she was happy when she able to be reborn or rebirthed (reincarnated?). A perennial is a plant or flower that can live and regrow the next seasons. I think she was symbolizing this be digging a while to bury herself to come back again. It seems to be a tragic story of someone not enjoying the life they have now, probably because they lost someone special. But they are believing in a time we can came come back and be happier in death and then come back to life again together, under happier circumstances. At least that is what I'm getting from it...lyrics below:

It's so nice to watch a reaction that sets aside technicalities like you're doing. Just keep on digging into meaning dude. Better than others saying something about what they want to hear or what they are expecting.
The technique he is showing there is "accenting" the hits, you use your fingers to "roll" the snare hits with an "accent" hit usually on the down beat.

Dude Jinjer is rapidly becoming one of metals hottest and fastest growing bands and a lot of it is coming from these reactions videos starting with pisces and people getting that shock and awe factor. But as you listen to more you start realizing how insane the rest of the band is....not just Tatis vocal abilities which are just insane. Should def do a few live videos of theirs and you can def see they are just as great live as they are from a mastered studio recording. This song has to do with her depression she gets with autumn and going into winter. Not sure if it has ties to the incident that happened with one of their drummers falling out of a window or not but she def puts herself out there for everyone to hear and her passion is insane. And I find it kind of fun that you can almost tell how old a song of theirs is by her having dreads or not and her tattoo progression haha.
Being generally considered a beast Tatiana is really working herself up to true legend status... goddamn she is good.
