I am somewhat embarrassed to say but I had not listen to Jin Jer prier to now, who would think that at 45 an old timer like myself would be getting turned on to what I think is going to be a really good metal band. I am going taking a crash course in Jin Jer to see if their other stuff is as good as Pisces was.

The song's lyrics talk about the dichotomy in the personality of someone, according to the sign of Pisces. It talks about how the singer (being a Pisces) feels unpredictable and torn between being a happy cheerful person, and simultaneously suicidal and dark.

I play some guitar myself and I'm a huge jinjer fan, been learning a handful of their songs, I don't think it's that hard to play imo, mostly hard to compose such a thing, roman's riffs are absolute killers, he's always really creative with his stuff and it feels like he never plays anything boring especially regarding chord choices, it's always a fucking blast learning their tunes

if you listen to her early growls, theyre not as good, and thats after 4 years of practicing before daring to do it live or in recordings... then id say it took another 2 or 3 years for it to sound great, with power as well as nuances from gutterals to blasting fry. i think shes the best in the business now, male or female.

"Well typically when I listen to a song I hear the music first" - that's the definition of Pisces. The lyrics are about the zodiac sign and the duality of it in Tatiana's perception (she's Pisces), written when she was quite depressed. The friendliness outside, suffering inside is a good example of that. The wish of jumping out of the water just to get hooked is another interesting reference to the duality of the sign. Pisces is portrayed as 2 fishes, each swimming in opposite directions and the song has beautiful references to that. Source: I'm a curious Gemini, I love the song, can't ignore the lyrics and I'm a little bit into astrology.

Jinjer, Astronomy... And so on. Are the songs that I get goosebumps from, my dick gets hard, I start shadowvoicing the lyrics and try to replicate the moves and singing. And I enoy it every fucking time. And you know what more? I enjoy maybe even more when somebody enjoys the song as much as I do orrr someone like Austin who doesn't expresionate emotions as much as you do, but just from the video I can see he enoys it. Emough of my kinda drunk thoughts. Pleaaaaaaseeeeee. I've been asking you for it for the last 4 months. React to Lazarus D. - Revolution!

That's another damn good Jinjer song, heartily recommended, to anyone. It's, in the main, a less scream heavy song, but it really, really shows off Tatiana's clean vocal skills. Plus it's a damn beautiful song and video.

Love that you have introduced Austin to the world of metal. Since he is a drummer, you have to react to some TOOL. Their drummer, Danny Carey, is out of this world. He is like a damn octopus behind his drum kit. Absolute madman. Alex you have already reacted to the song Sober. If I can suggest a few songs, 46&2, The Pot, Lateralus. Please give them a try.

    DnD? Getting into metal?
These are two metal bands (same singer) that write concept albums based on fantasy novels:
    - Blind Guardian -
    Nightfall or Mirror Mirror.
    - Demons and Wizards -
Fiddler on the Green, Heaven Denies, Dorian, Terror Train, Blood on My hands
Oh and since he's a drummer, how long before you introduce him to Danny Carey (Tool)? You could continue to explore Tool with him and Danny's drums will blow both of you away.

Given his taste for harsh/clean vocals.. you should definitely introduce him to some Devin Townsend... followed closely by by Gojira. Suggest "Deadhead - Live at the Royal Albert Hall" for Devin Townsend... and either "Flying Whales" or, preferably, "Stranded" by Gojira.
Now..what I'd personally like to see is what he thinks of classic metal singing. "Stargazer" by the band Rainbow... or "Painkiller" by Judas Priest to begin with.
    Peace

@@jasonbanks7082 It'd make sense to show a drummer though. The ridiculous amount of stamina you'd need for a song like Bleed is enough to scare off drummers who are already good at what they do. And, at least for Bleed, it's not really all just one pattern. To be fair though it doesn't make a whole lot of huge changes lol, but enough to make a difference, especially starting out with a herta ostinato rhythm but then moving into the next section inserting an extra two 8th notes at the end of the rhythm completely changes up the flow.
Then there are the other sections that come up.
Idk, I guess you just already have to be interested in primarily rhythmic music for something like that though.
