The "Sibling rivalry" Dynimic in fiction is so annoying. There are so many other dynamics that siblings can have, and yet on tv we always see them only bugging each other.
It’s almost like sibling rivalry exists in real life and fiction is just reflecting it, and because it’s so commonplace and annoying, people are able to relate to it easily. As a matter of fact, Marc Brown based the Arthur characters on people he knew, including D.W., who, if I’m not mistaken, was inspired by his sisters, and on top of that, Marc based the titular character on himself, so the dynamic is based on personal experience. Artists draw inspiration from their lives when creating their art, and this why Arthur and D.W. have the dynamic they do, so who are you to tell artists what dynamics to use in their works?
I like Alvin and Simon's dynamic where they'll work together as often as they bicker with each other...or end up doing both at the same time. another one I like is Yin and Yang's which is pretty much the same thing, two polar opposite siblings who can't stand each other but team up when it counts...only difference is there's far more action.
Funny enough I recall remembeering certain episodes differently as a kid. One example is when she blows a whistle on the kid running into the street. Instead of the mother pulling him away, the kid stops and looks at DW like "what the Hell are you doing"?
I know DW was supposed to be teaching kids to be patient and tolerant of having annoying siblings, but damn, she was just too much. the ultimate test of patients. my own sister was annoying and even she hated DW.

bro it ain’t even 30 seconds and i’m dying
DW is the middle child she used to be the baby of the family. She even tried to get rid of her new born baby sister by selling her at a yard sell and theirs more too
yeah but she was huge b even before mr. reed had enough testosterone to make a third child. Some people are just born shitty and DW is a prime example.
@aaustin365 oh yeah that happened I forgot about it
"Drains their color from their bodies" What in Mr. Mime from Powerpuff Girls is this!?
Also, kids who get allowances don't realize how lucky they were. My allowance was that i was allowed to stay at my house growing up. Didnt even get an allowance for good grades because "Good grades is the reward".
It's teaching the kids money sense. If you don't give them an allowance, watch them blow the first 20 paychecks on nonsense.
@@kyleellis1825 I know, i never had an allowance, and i manage my money poorly to the poing that i give my husband a giant chunk of my paycheck (My choice) so i cant touch most of it. I'm going to give my son an allowance, make him "pay bills" and let him learn how to do money stuff.
When i say pay bills, yeah we'll make him pay bills and rent, however we have a second plan to just take all the money he pays his bills with and just give it all back to him when he graduates high school so he has a nest egg for a car or whatever he wants/needs
Yeah that was how my foster parent treated me. Maybe paid me with a Slurpee sometimes instead of actual money. Which is really fucked considering the law required her to give me an allowance and she was getting paid by the state to keep me.
@@kyleellis1825 Yes I have no sense of regulation when it comes to money. I even blew through most of $280 worth of food stamps in less than two weeks.
honestly i'll never get the whole "your allowance is a roof over your head and food" kind of parents. that's not even a privilege, that's literally the bare minimum you have to provide your kid to be considered a parent lmao, do some parents seriously expect a trophy for doing what you're expected to do as a parent??

Is it sad when it was announced that Arthur was ending I was hoping she would be in prison or something similar instead of being a police officer.
I thought she would be broke as fuck living with her parents while refusing to get a job or do anything around the house
In my tiny little mind of an immature 30 year old, i like to think Marc Brown made her that way because police are so extremely hated nowadays so it kinda works lol
@@poohbear4515 Except Marc Brown himself actually considers her his favorite character. Talk about a *massive* difference in opinion between the creator and the audience.
I thought it’s a good ending because it meant DW matured and became a better adult compared to when she was a kid.
@@OzzyNe0nBook DW isn't the same as TV DW
D.W is just straight up the main antagonist
DW was only punished at least 4 times the whole series given that she has done worst that should have been enough to ground her for a while.
But most times just like caillou’s mom and dad David and Jane read do nothing to scold dw
@@KENNYTHEGHOST777 I think that it has to do with PBS and some Canadian shows/writers don't believe in capital punishment towards kids.
@@the1magageneral323now that is just ridiculously wrong
@@KENNYTHEGHOST777 What's wrong? That CANADA doesn't believe that Capital punishment for kids? This is why kids are out of control.
At least DW gets punished. Unlike some other kid characters, who's parents didn't do squat.
Why was Emily accused of showing off at the gymnastics class? I don't know why I have a memory of it being her turn to try to do a cartwheel, and she just naturally does it better than DW.
11:22 Arthur don’t hit her with a newspaper
Use a belt
Frankly DW was overdue for a some good old fashioned corpral punishment for a long time.
Use a car.

YTP: Arthur unleashes God of War
I heard when DW was born she cried like a baby, so did her parents
bruh dw looks like she's insane and doesn't get enough sleep.
but have a nice monday and fu dw.
Yeah but what does she look like when she's insane and doesn't get any sleep? 😉
D.W. was and always has been the main antagonist of the Arthur TV series
‘And you know better than to let your daughter out in public without a leash!’ Arthur should’ve brought Pal instead, he would’ve stayed on his lap.
I discovered this on accident and I love it 😂
Same here 😅😂
I came across this series after watching that one "Max and Ruby"

DW means Devil's Warrant
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
lol love it
My Brain: We've seen all these before, he's shamelessly recycling content!
Me: Shhh, FU DW is on.
Best series on UA-cam right now
DW being the pure evil every villain wants to be 😂
i love this series. when i was younger, i thought i was crazy for hating DW, but i feel so vindicated! you're doing the Lords work
Love the fu dw series
DW is the perfect example of why having siblings can be a total nightmare and that being a single child is far more of blessing than people think.
Damn this series has had me crying of laughter as much as DW has cried of anger. Good job!
DW needs to be told that she’ll be strong to the finish if she eats spinach by Popeye the sailor man!
Do the next one with the episode “so long Spanky”
And "Never, Never, Never,"
@Bride of Bronze Eye, or Science Princess Let's not forget "All About D.W.", "D.W. on Ice", "Arthur's Pet Business", "D.W. and Dr. Whosit", "Best Enemies", "D.W. Rides Again", "Arthur's Family Feud", "D.W. Makes a Wish", "D.W., Bossy Boots", "The Last of Mary-Moo Cow",
Correction, the nanny (Marie Helen) has had many more appearances after S6. Post S16 she became brunette for some reason though
She also appeared S1-5 in the background shots at times
Sharky similarly would reappear in rare instances, notably in none DW centric eps
@Shojo-Skip (Schmandy the Hottie) Sure but DW would’ve killed them
Poor Arthur. His whole family's a shitshow. His parents don't seem interested in parenting (except when HE does something wrong) while his sister could probably get away with murder.
Gotta say, though, DW's lucky she wasn't born to parents that wouldn't put up with any of her nonsense. Seriously, if I acted like DW to my parents, I would've been sent to MIlitary School, or at the very least get spanked so hard my future kids wouldn't be able to sit down
I’m such a fan of this series. Also, the Kevin reference.
‘Surprises are fun!’ ‘Is that why you have three kids?’ 🤣
Bro I actually wanna see a fight between
DW vs Caillou
One thing about DW that I never got was why does she hate Pal?
There's an episode where she states that she always wanted her own cat but her parents never let her because they already had a dog, although this dream she has of owning a cat was never spoken about again before or after that to my knowledge
The "Sibling rivalry" Dynimic in fiction is so annoying. There are so many other dynamics that siblings can have, and yet on tv we always see them only bugging each other.
In mlp sisters are getting along well even if they have their downs as well as ups. That's what makes this show special 💕
@@imfsresidentotaku9699We get it: you have shitty parents and live in a bubble.
Oh my lord I just discovered this channel today and I am in love. Friggin' Dora Winifred is such a C U Next Thursday.
Funny enough I recall remembeering certain episodes differently as a kid. One example is when she blows a whistle on the kid running into the street. Instead of the mother pulling him away, the kid stops and looks at DW like "what the Hell are you doing"?
What did I do?
YOU WERE BORN
I know DW was supposed to be teaching kids to be patient and tolerant of having annoying siblings, but damn, she was just too much. the ultimate test of patients. my own sister was annoying and even she hated DW.
My little sister isn’t annoying at all and she related to DW and loved her.
It's a blessing how quickly you can get these videos out they're great
0:29 Get *your* head out of the gutter! I wasn't thinking that at all!👃🏿
14:46 Okay in D.W.'s defense, peanut butter and spinach!? That's just nasty, D.W. already doesn't like spinach all by itself, why the hell would she want it with peanut butter?👃🏻
16:19 Not true because when she was tricked the 1st time, it didn't work. So the pie just tasted good to her, so she was okay with overlooking the fact that there was spinach in it.👃🏿
DW is such an entitled little brat. She’s so bad she makes Caillou tolerable.
