Call the police to ask how the case is going. You cannot take it for granted that they will follow up even if you give them the evidence on a silver paltter. Sorry for your loss, glad you caught the guy. Consequences matter. Maybe instagram will kick him off if you share your viideo with them too?
I've been stolen from before, and while it was nothing as cool as your fish it was still violating. I'm so sorry this happened to you, and I'm glad your fish are safe now.
i got rid of my bike because a few people kept acting shady around it.
My logic is if it's of value i get rid of it so they have nothing to steal from me.

most shady about my bike got pissed when i told him i sold my bike,
he told me i was a P.O.S. for selling it. i laughed and told him it's just
one less thing that can't be stolen from me, He got big mad at that
and stormed off acting all brody about it telling his ole lady what a
loser i was for selling it. I later found out he wanted to get his hands
on it so he could take it and sell it for his weed addiction. He still mad
at me and frankly i don't really care. He can stay mad doesn't bother me.
@@DarkWolf-et3dx - The only things anyone's stolen from my yard were a snowmobile with no engine that was waiting to go to the dump, and some horticultural products that were illegal anyway. The rabbits probably would have got that if they hadn't. There's never anything out there but grass and rocks.
,my mom kept losing fish so she set up a camera and it turned out to be a giant blue heron. he ate 26 fish in 1 trip to her pond.. she covered the ponds with nets after that but now she sometimes finds small birds tangled and has to check a few x a day to save the birds..

maybe get a strong, 7' long side tank with a lockable, hinged, metal, mesh, security door on top so fish can swim into it when chased. stagger or angle the fish entrance/portal so thieves can't stick a net in sideways.

We were able to get motion detector alarms set up at our place because we sell pots and plants and want to know when people arrive.
I believe some can also be connected to your phone to give you alerts when they're tripped, also having the alarm blare out would probably scare them off.
Just for future reference to keep this from ever happening again, because even though you caught this guy, this will probably end up happening again, especially since you have a channel that shows you have these fish.

Install a dog door so your dogs can come in and out when they need to .

Most of these people operate on still being mostly unknown even if they get caught. Make sure relatives, employer, school, church, etc., literally everyone who has to deal with this person, becomes aware that he was stealing your fish. You'll be doing them all a favor simply knowing, and highly likely there will be things some of these people have been missing. Extremely unlikely this guy wouldn't have taken something even more important than your fish if it had been handy, and you're probably not his first victim.
I'm surprised he didn't steal the dog. If he'd steal fish he'd steal pets as well. Thieves can't stop at stealing just
small things they get worse over time. Best to out him to everyone before he moves on to bigger things like
neighborhood pets and breaking into houses stealing electronics and jewelry.

I can't believe that even backyard fish are not safe from thieves.......I guess there's nothing out there they won't try to steal.
You are so fortunate to live in an area where it's warm all the time and you can have these gorgeous backyard ponds and beautiful fish. Where I live, we get 4 months of unbearable heat of +40 that would dry up those ponds in about 2 hours, then we get 6-8 months of unbearable cold. The last few winters we have had deep freeze temperatures of -55 with the windchill. And the other two months of the year is spent with the weather not being able to make up it's mind whether it wants to be too hot or too cold.
I would gladly live where you are.

I have had so many things stolen in Broward County. I've lived all over the country and theft was definitely the worst for me down there. One time someone stole my entire Cactus collection!

When him and 2 buddies with concealed pistols went to meet the guy
He had 3 friends with 4 shotguns they stole $50,000 in parts and his truck, his truck was found couple days later never heard no more

Call the department of fish and game. His is poaching and stealing livestock. Both of which are serious felonies.
In the good old days when I was a kid we would have set a bear trap out there and there would be no way we would have gotten in trouble! I'm talking about when I grew up in the sixties and seventies!! And the guy would have deserved it the cops would have even agreed with that! Hopefully the police are able to bring criminal charges for the theft. I don’t know how victims rights work in Florida but if this case proceeds talk to the prosecutor and ask if you are entitled to financial restitution from the suspect. In some cases you may be entitled to double damages or more. It looks like you had take significant steps and incurred significant expenses to crack this case. Even the fish that you caught yourself did cost you time, use of equipment ect. There likely not going to throw this guy in jail but he should be required to make you whole again. Once the case gets rolling be persistent.
You need to plant some hawthorn against your fence! Hawthorn hedges better than any fence etc! And planting one under downstairs windows in the boarder’s works wonders! 🤣. No one is climbing over those spikes! They also look great in summer when they flower, best of both worlds!

In many states stand your ground and make my day laws only apply if there is a reasonable threat to your safety. If you kill a thief in your yard, you can do time if they weren’t being physically aggressive. You have to prove that your safety was in jeopardy.

I’d never seen anything like it. “Holy crap I caught a dinosaur!”

Something is up here. Doesn't show face, doesn't press charges, no cops in the video, no footage of the thief, "security" camera cuts before he goes outside, person in your yard and you don't go out and stop them...smells fake.

You would be amazed what a electric fence would do to keep people out of your your yard and don't let nobody know where the box is at they got ones where they're solar charged and trust me you get hit with 6,000 direct current volts that crap hurts I know I used to work on a ranch in Montana where they have grizzly bear so yeah I do know what I'm talking about they got ones out there that will stop a grizzly bear and trust me it won't kill him but it'll sure make them think they ever come back to that place ever again
