I picked this up and might just keep it to use with sites where a simpler email system will do. I'm hoping for some of the same improvements you touched on. Nice review.
Same here. We bought it via the deal but haven't used it yet. With this review I think we'll go with ConvertKit for now though. If something requires having to switch your brain to a different mode of thinking because the functionality isn't intuitive it's an additional layer of complexity and friction that should be avoided if possible.
I love watching your videos because of your expertise and honesty. I am planning to buy Sandfox, and I will buy it through your link because if I hadn't seen this video, surely I wouldn't buy it. Thank you.
Sendfox is great for what it offers and it seems to work well. The team has improved the email creation screen, and there have been updates. I do have a couple of gripes. They don't seem to have a public facing roadmap, which is their choice, but if you bring something up they just say they will add it to the list. You never really know what they are working on, or what is coming. Wish they had a board where you can add what you'd like and vote on it, like many other software vendors have. The other thing, is that while it is great to send from different domains and that is easy to set up, they only have the one confirmation email that can be sent out, you have to pick 1 email address for this. This seems crazy to me. I'd love to know how other people handle different domains/brands, but can only have 1 confirmation email. What email address do you put in there? None of my stuff is related, and if I have one email address that goes out, it could confuse people. Why can't every domain I have added, have it's own separate confirmation email. I really wish they would sort that out, so I could have all of my domains and lists under one account.
Thanks for the review. I'm an Ontraport user. They are amazing... except for deliverability. Actually, I'm considering SendFox for newsletters to work side-by-side with Ontraport through Zapier. Thoughts?
I heard them mention in a video that same email only count once on multiple lists/tags. Since they use a tagging system (noted as lists), it would be hard to use them like tags are meant to if they where counted more than once.
Thanks for the review! I was on the fence about this one but I’m not sure if I can move past not being able to delete people from automations. Maybe it’s one to pick up and wait to mature.
Oh, so you’re able to manually remove them, then they’ll stop receiving emails from that automated sequence? From my understanding they still receive the rest of the emails from the sequence even after they’ve been removed. Which is correct?
Newbie question on the deal. I'm willing to invest if I can use it for multiple sites. This way I can split between clients. If it's one site per code than I don't want to stack 3 and wait and hope for the best. Looking for added value to include with my web design clients.
You certainly could, although I don’t think it’s ideal. It would be best to get a separate plan for each domain to avoid contacting the wrong list, but there is nothing stopping you from using forms on multiple domains.
that LTD life thank you taking the time to reply. I wouldn’t want to stack for any specific client knowing this is a work in progress. Great to see your reviews again. You’re one of the people I rely on when deciding on purchases
If you want to track customer actions, you can only do that via Zapier right now. You can of course use SendFox if you're using Shopify by embedding their forms.
Looks very promising. Deliverability looks good. Features can easily be improved over time. They definitely need an API but all the other foundations are there. RSS features is killer!
Thanks for the review, seems half-baked in most areas. I’ll skip on this one. Since you mentioned it, any chance you could run us through your maultic setup? I know it’s not an LTD Life thing but it’s something I’ve been looking at a while 😄
hi Dave... thanks for doing this... I'm wondering if you know anything about lemlist and how it compares to sendfox? what does sendfox has that lemlist doesn't? would really appreciate your input on this. thanks....
HI Miranda, glad you liked the video. Lemlist is for cold outreach and SendFox is for people who have opt-ed in to receive your emails, so their entirely different tools for different audiences.
Hi Dave! 2:20 the grey banner says: "Reminder: Lifetime plan charges $10.00 for every 1,000 contacts ober your current max of 5,000." Question: If I buy $50 later, will I have those 50,000 extra contacts available FOREVER? Love your vids, thanks!
Thanks @TheProdisplay! Unfortunately, SendFox themselves are not very clear on this but you can assume that would be a monthly charge. The answer to this question in the AppSumo deal page is that you would just buy another code if you go over your contacts. They go on to say "That's something we're gonna solve in the near future. We're not planning to remove the deal in the near-term." 🤷♂️
Dont worry, i found the answer from the Appsumo deal: If you bought LTD during the limited run on our site, you can buy AppSumo codes to stack on top of the LTD from our site. You can also buy more subscribers directly from our site. If you bought the LTD on AppSumo, and have an increase in subscribers, you'll need to come back to AppSumo right now to buy more codes.
Hey Andrew - I remember when it was on LTD at stack social. It looked pretty basic at the time but I haven’t follow its development. Does it do marketing automation?
@@dave-swift Hey Dave, I apologize for the belated reply, it does not have automation at least I don't think so. I think it has essentially stopped updating and developing. It is basically, an plugin to AWS SES since it uses the service rather than being a standalone permission-based email service. However, I stopped using it a while back, since I found it to be a little too much work to send out emails. I liked the concept, but I'm definitely rethinking using something like moosend or mailchimp for emails now.
1/We can compare module marketing automation inside sendfox with activecampaign/sendblue/mautic. Is good ? is basic? 2/You setup audio¿? just curious, good sound. name/model micro and card audio¿? 3/If you will grab mautic course, can you explain the cron and activate campaign in different hosting , specially 1and1/ionos? It´s so hard.... Some people did it but after 1 month doesn´t work for me...
Hi Yaell 1. I don’t understand, can you reword? 2. Thanks I’m using a Shure SM7B into a Safire 2i2 recorded directly to computer via SwiftCapture 3. The mautic course covers crons and setup in detail. I’ll announce here when the course is available.
1. Marketing automation in SendFox is in its infancy. No where near the power you get with ActiveCampaign or Mautic (I haven’t used sendblue). 2. I think Mautic is the only open source marketing automation tool on the market, but I’m actually not positive.
You read my mind! I test but you believe I dont understand how to send newsletter?!? Is very old fashion all software and I Remember perfectly the First versione of Mailchimp! I hope you review soon replybutton. For me Is a big no.
Thanks for this overview! Sendfox feels pretty "alpha phase" to me at this point, and checking out your in-depth coverage affirms that hunch. It's a pretty crowded field, so good luck to them in competing with some really mature ESPs.
@@dave-swift This has got me interested. We currently a few tools for different projects. Intercom for users, Mailchimp for leads, Mailshake for outreach, Gist on a new project. MC drives me crazy. They've totally dropped the ball on usability. Same for Intercom. SendFox looks much simpler for UI/UX in comparison, and that's a good thing.

I have a review coming out for Sendy very soon. You may want to wait to compare. (My Sendy link: get.thatltd.life/sendy)
Thanks for your review but do let me know which is the best model i should choose for digital marketing, please
we may need an update on this one
Why is that? :)
I imported my mailchimp, works well
Do people on multiple lists count multiple times towards your limit? The point of tags is that they don't. I wonder how SF handles this? 🤔
Great question. I’m almost certain they don’t count multiple times, but I’ll confirm this.

Hey Chris, to be clear you can remove people from automations, you just can’t trigger the removal based on an action they take.
But I agree. It’s a real coin flip. You know sumo isn’t going to just let this die, so it could pay off big in the future. 🤷♂️
Oh, so you’re able to manually remove them, then they’ll stop receiving emails from that automated sequence?
