Great review. I used to be with Mailchimp, but the price kept going up and up. I wanted to use automations, and Mailchimp wanted $50 a month for a mere 2000 subscribers. Wow. Too much money. I maybe use 10% of all their features, but I'm getting charged for all of them. I did a lot of research and finally settled on Sendinblue. The pricing makes sense for me. I only pay for the number of emails I send, not the number of contacts I have. They have all the automations I had with Mailchimp but at a fraction of the cost. I really like how I can have unlimited contacts. I agree that their interface is quite clunky, but I found Mailchimp to also be very difficult to navigate and not very intuitive. Can you do a video on which ones deliver better, so that emails don't end up in recipients junk folders. I have set up all the mail protocols (spf, dns, smtp etc), but mailerlite seems to have deliverability issues, at least with outlook.
Yes! It's something I've been curious to know, too. But apart from the deliverability of an email service provider (ESP), there are many other factors too such as your email content - are you using "spam trigger" words, too many links in your email, whether subscribers are engaging in your content, and more. I have heard, however, that ActiveCampaign has one of the best deliverability rates out there
@@AureliusTjin I am in construction stage at mo, so have kept things simple. However emails sent directly from the website admin get to inboxes just fine. Definitely a big no-no. You'll trigger a red flag and most likely get your account suspended as your leads are most likely cold and did not give permission to receive emails from you. You're better off doing it the right way by building a list based on people who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer.

Hello, thank you so much for explaining the different types of software. If you start out with for example mailchimp then move over to convertkit, are you able to take your contacts from one and import them into the other?
Enjoyed you review, wondering if there are other alternatives. I am more interested in the feature of unlimited subscribers, not numbers of emails: so the feature of capture of who opens (ask our mailing list to pass on the email unlimited third parties). By the way we are an environmental education charity.
Hello I tried to subscribe, I filled in all the requested information and then they ask me where the emails come from so I click on “E-commerce (subscribers purchased a product or service in the past)” and then he asks me for more information so I write to Instagram influencers who have left their emails publicly and 2 minutes later I receive an email telling me that the plant has been refused because they don't have enough information
At the time of recording, AWeber hadn't released its free plan option. I recorded a dedicated video on AWeber's Free plan here: ua-cam.com/video/3LXVpvnDWyc/v-deo.html
They just closed my account because they said our business content is “poor.” They refused to explain how they determine what justifies high quality or bad content. We spent weeks setting up this account and they just closed it out of the blue. I do not recommend it to anyone, very poor customer service.
Hi Aurelius, is it also important to consider integrations and wonder if you can do a video on this aspect? I choose Moonsend but it didn't automate with my WIX platform and it has proved impossible to integrate them so I'm needing to change to one that integrates with WIX. What are your thoughts on integrations?
Hi Carolina. Integrations are important indeed. In my business, we use Zapier to connect two apps together when a tool does not have the integration built-in. Zapier can run certain automations for you. Is it "Moosend" or "Moonsend"? Check this out: zapier.com/apps/wix-automations/integrations/moosend
Hi Elizabeth. What CRM specifically? These platforms are *somewhat* considered CRMs as well as you're managing relationships with your customers. If you are thinking about ones that install as plug-ins on something like Wordpress then the biggest difference would be deliverability. You have to manage the whitelisting/blacklisting of your server which can get very technical. Email marketing platforms do it on their end already.

Hi Aurelius, thanks for the awesome review video! Would you happen to know anything about Omnisend and/or Shopify's Email's free plans? I'm a beginner with 600 subscribers from my previous website set up by a developer/friend who used Mailchimp. I've recently gone solo and built a whole new website with Shopify so I'm in the daunting process of shopping for an email marketing software suitable for me (and of course my low budget!). I'm looking for something extremely basic and affordable and am concerned with ease of use, deliverability and finally template choice/attractiveness since I'm in the handmade jewelry business. Any more wise advice you can send my way would be greatly appreciated:)
I haven't looked into Omnisend or Shopify's built in tool. For 600 subscribers, any of the tools I mentioned will do. ConvertKit's got a really nice design and interface which I like and its deliverability is high. Only issue is if you want to create automated email series that go out on pre-determined days, you won't find it in its free plan. You'll need to upgrade. MailerLite is one of the cheapest options but I haven't personally tested its deliverability. I will be doing a future video dedicated on deliverability rates of top services. Let me know how you go and which one you'll sign up for!
Thanks for the quick reply and awesome advice @@AureliusTjin ! You're the second person who's recommended MailerLite to me today so I think I'll give it a try and keep Convertkit in mind if I'm not satisfied. Looking forward to your future video on deliverability! Thanks again for sharing
Why do you need a landing page with the ems? If i have a website blog contact page to collect emails of subscribers what is the purpose of an additional landing page?
Hi Aurelius, I'm just starting to create an email list. I have Mailchimp-free version. Can I create a landing page for an opt in freebie (ebook) and then collect emails that way and have mailchimp send an automated email with the ebook to the people that opt in with the FREE version of mailchimp? I'm wondering if I can then create an automated email list from that to update my subscribers about my services.
Hi Logan. Yes, Mailchimp does offer a limit number of landing page templates in its free plan. You can also send out a single automate email that goes out like a welcome email. But if you want to send multiple emails in a sequence, you’ll need to upgrade. You can, however, send out one time broadcast messages.
Am I misunderstanding something? So, are you saying under the free plans you still have to pay for the number of emails your business sends, or is it totally free to use up to the free limit (500, 1000, 2000)?
What about GetResponse? I thought that was the favourite for affliliate marketers. Also, when you create a landing page with these providers, is the page immediately live on the internet, or does it need to be hosted somewhere? Thanks for a good video, though.
GetResponse is also a good choice for affiliate marketers. They just do not have a free plan which is what this video emphasised on. Do check out my other video where I talk about GetResponse: ua-cam.com/video/O6QbHGdTu2M/v-deo.html
If you use its built in landing page builder, you do not need your own hosting. If you want to brand it with your domain instead of using theirs, then you'll just need a domain name. Some platforms support that feature.

He would love to keep in touch with regular buyers by simply having an ipad by the trcuk stand and capturing their details (email & mobile) He drives around various country towns every week bringing them fresh fish just caught, so speed and a captive audience ready to buy is key to his success. Do bulk email, do you know that bulk email can bring you more sales and increase your income
I'm going with the latter. Thank you
Thankyou for this video. So helpful
Why did you not touch on aweber?
At the time of recording, AWeber hadn't released its free plan option. I recorded a dedicated video on AWeber's Free plan here: ua-cam.com/video/3LXVpvnDWyc/v-deo.html
They just closed my account because they said our business content is “poor.” They refused to explain how they determine what justifies high quality or bad content. We spent weeks setting up this account and they just closed it out of the blue. I do not recommend it to anyone, very poor customer service.
Sorry to hear Joseph. This can unfortunately happen for users. I hope you were able to at least backup your email subscribers?
Great video! Which ones are good for lead generators like sending ebooks or quiz results once they subscribe to your email?
Try convertkit
Thorough! Thank you.
Aurelius Tjin yes it’s Moosend :). Have tried this but it’s quite tricky when your not tech savvy lol. Thank you for your reply 🙏
I love your videos so much!
Long but pretty useful, thanks
Which font are you using for the left column that keeps popping up? ☺️🙏🏼
Brandon Grotesque 😀
Hello Aurelius, What's the difference between one of these platforms vs bulk emailing through a CRM? Thank you
Hi Elizabeth.
@@AureliusTjin WOW your response time is amazing!! Thank you. I'm currently signed up with Wise Agent and Total Expert. I do not plan to renew my subscription with Wise Agent which expires in a month. The problem with Total Expert is they can't seem to get my Wordpress website and IDX Broker linked. The access to Total Expert is through my lender and at no cost to me. Wise Agent is cheap $24 mo. I'm looking for something EASY as I don't have time to learn yet another platform.
@@elizabethchionchiorealtor-6568 Not a problem! I don't know much about the two tools you mentioned. Others have used Salesforce (the most popular) and Dubsado which both require a paid subscription. If all you need to do is collect and contact leads/subscribers, then you may want to just look into one of the platforms I mentioned in this video.
@@AureliusTjin I forgot to mention I do have the free version of Mailchimp. I'm just trying to figure out how to avoid the spam/junk/promotional folders. Thanks for advise!!

Did you forget to cover Convertkit price or I missed it ? =D
how i slove voilation in mailchimp??
GREAT video!!
Awesome video bro..
Thank you!
Hi,can i know the Limit of E-mail Broadcasts for Convert Kit Free Plan ?
its not showing on there website
hi. There shouldn’t be a limit for broadcasts as it’s based on number of subscribers, not number of emails sent.
What about 2023 ? Which is the best ? I need to connect excel sheets to the email.. any suggestions.
@@AureliusTjin OK; thanks. Will do. Do you need hosting for your landing pages?
If you use its built in landing page builder, you do not need your own hosting. If you want to brand it with your domain instead of using theirs, then you'll just need a domain name. Some platforms support that feature.
@@AureliusTjin Thank you, Aurelius. That's very helpful.
Handy video, thanks!
Which email marketing do you personally use or recommend?
I use Drip. For starters, I recommend ConvertKit. Good overall deliverability, landing page builder, 1000 subscribers on its free plan.
@@AureliusTjin awesome! Many thanks for the quick reply. I’m just starting to make a newsletter and did create a ConvertKit account so looks like I’m on the right track 👍. Thanks friend 🙌
Awesome 👍
Hey is it possible to change our logo along with 10user I’d and password and give the access It’s for my client to send bulk emails & marketing ?
If yes ?
Which is the best platform and best plan in it?
Can you please guide about WhatsApp bulk message sender?
Priceless content. thank you
How about the mailchimp?
Thank you for you comprehensive review. In your opinion for low volume (once a week) regular sms/email marketing up to 500 subscribers for a start up which one is the most affordable? A mate runs a mobile fish monger food truck service in the north island of New Zealand. He would love to keep in touch with regular buyers by simply having an ipad by the trcuk stand and capturing their details (email & mobile)
He drives around various country towns every week bringing them fresh fish just caught, so speed and a captive audience ready to buy is key to his success. I.E. sending an sms and email to his list a few hours before to say where and when he will be available for a few hours. Any help would be great!
Thanks 👌
Super helpful!!!
