There is some politics involved in this drama. Management claims the company is a target of hostile takeover by previous government. It sounds like a conspiracy theory but polish politics is one big conspiracy.
Sadly, people in charge of Newag have very good political connections. And that includes the government. I hope that it all doesn’t end bad for the researchers.
This video kept getting recommended to me by UA-cam the last few days, but I couldn't figure out why so I kept ignoring it. SOOO glad I finally clicked on it. Amazing work.
@@N1njaSnake well, the words on the shell were not about Luigi's actions but UHC's. So the commenters words would be more about these companies tactics in that context, which makes some sense
EU should pass a law making it a criminal offense to implement obsolescence "features", the idea being that there isn't a branch of police that actively is monitoring or researching, but that there is a judicial lever that can be used to charge such companies who clearly are extorting their customers and create unnecessary expense to the people in general, limit competition, not to mention environmental impact of this excessive waste generated - not talking about trains here, but all the hundreds of millions of other electronics devices made obsolescent when this cloud or that cloud service stops, which includes licence servers for software and similar tech
LOL. Delusional dreams. After all, the automotive sector, household appliances and everything else would have to comply. The Germans, French or Italians will not allow their industries to be destroyed, and they cannot adopt a law in the EU that excludes their sectors from such an obligation. So your idea will never be implemented - unless it does not primarily concern the economies of two EU countries, i.e. Germany and France.
Likely not even necessary. Implementing a feature that intentionally bricks hardware to extract repair fees could likely be classified as just plain and simple fraud.

And it is still amazing that companies (rail transport companies) order Newag vehicles, despite the problems, hidden features in the software that extort fees.... for nothing.
A lot of those companies are state owned, and have to buy trains through public tender. In Poland the weights are set that almost always the cheapest price wins. So even if the people responsible know about those problems, they can't do anything if Newag is the cheapest
unfortunately in Poland there is no Polish government since 1989 the same mugs have been showing up, connected with the previous communist government, we have not had lustration!
Heroes! They deserve some kind of commendation from the Polish government.

@@andrzejostrowski5579neither present nor previous wanted to push Newag
Did you miss part then one member of major party in parlament ruled out their opportunity to speak during public meeting in parlament office?
