I’m a Canadian and it was really neat to see how immigrants see our society. I think you really got it right when you said that Canadians are into equality between people of different status, gender, sexuality etc. You didn’t complain about winter as much as I expected. I’m born here and I F**ing hate winter so much, I don’t know how foreigners deal with it. Another thing that some immigrants learn when they come here is how differently we raise our kids. Like if you shout at your kids or spank them Canadians will call child protective services. I’m always gentle with my daughter but one day she was really not listening and hiding in the store from me, so I said her whole name just loud enough for her to hear me and everyone in the store looked at me funny 😂. She slinked out from behind a clothing rack and was mortified that I called her out like that.
We come from a country (Nigeria) with so many problems that make your harsh Canadian winters feel like a slight inconvenience. Nigeria has a lot of oil and natural resources, yet the country is filled with rampant poverty and bad roads. Our politicians are looting the oil money to buy mansions and luxury vehicles. Recently, soldiers in Nigeria killed a hundred peaceful protesters and the government said no lives were lost. I slept with an escort who said she had a degree in Banking and Finance but couldn't find a job.
@@ucheokoroafor8273 That’s horrific, you must be so concerned for your people. I guess in comparison winter isn’t so bad. Glad at least you’re safe here
