I sorta adopted the dog in a RDR2 I installed mods which let me give him food and water and I always would pet him during every encounter and when I Reached the epilogue I felt sad as i knew it would have died of old age and then i started the campaign again just so i could see the cute dog and then I played far cry 5 which I'm still on I miss that dog I'm gonna go back to RDR2 to see him again

If your wondering what the mods are called I think it's like. Own cemetery dog, or something go onto mod sites see what you can find. But yea in my game the dogs all safe and happy.

"Clara", "Akira", "Emma", "Mr. D"...those all sound like potential pet names and they all seem to have died suspiciously young (for a human). The "Philippa Warburg Rogge" memorial is certainly for an actual person but it's also the only one to feature a last name and definitive dates.

He doesn't specify where he got that information. There are actually way more memorials like this in Just Cause 4 than what he showed in this video, including one that's _definitely_ for a dog which he actually does feature in another video.
I'm 90% convinced that the gravestones that only have a single name on it refer to pets they lost. The gravestones that refer to the people they lost have first and last names on it. It seems unlikely to me that the developers would lose 3-4 children during the development stage of their game and still stay strong enough to come to work. That, and there's also the fact that many of these are related to pet deaths, so it fits with that theme. There are two gravestones that definitely refer to the passing of a human being, but both of those are people who were elderly. I think the shorter lived ones refer to pets that died. A pet dying on you is a tragic loss for sure and you'll be fucked up about but you'd be able to pull your shit together long enough to come into work. If you lost your 13 year old son/daughter, there's no way you'll be in good enough mental shape to continue working for many weeks/months to come.
When video games express such admiration for a dog's loyalty, thus, we all need to learn to love, and appreciate a dog's undying loyalty towards their owner.

Shout out to the Mordhau devs for that TotalBiscuit memorial. Devs that do that get a lot of respect from me. Bethesda did something similar in which they created npcs to honor fans who had passed on. In Skyrim there is an NPC called Erik The Slayer, who was named after a fan named Erik West who used the online alias Immok The Slayer. He was given a tour of the BGS offices and knew a lot about the Elder Scrolls lore. He passed away before Skyrim's (the 2011 version) release. In Fallout 4's Nuka World dlc there is an npc named Evan. Evan was the brother of reddit user NoohjXLVII. Both brothers had lost their dad and Bethesda had sent them a care package filled with Fallout stuff but Evan passed away before the package arrived. As a way to make up for the delayed pacjage, Bethesda promised to add an NPC to Nuka World. GearBox did a similar thing. In Borderlands 2 there is a random npc that shows up in Sanctuary named Micheal Mamaril. He was named after a fan, who had the exact same name, had passed away.

Its a sad story.

The dog at 8:26 is like the reference to the story of hachicko who waited for maybe ten years and many people showed their mercy they fed him and until one day he died in th station where his owner riding a train for his work he grew old there and he dreamed that him and his owner were together now but one thing he did not knew is they are already dead his owner died during his work hour but his dog did not accept it he just kept waiting and waiting until he grew older.

Emma was a pet of some kind. 21 years old is pretty old for most animals. You can tell she's a pet, because there's no last name. The gravestones that are meant to honor the people they lost have first and last names on it.
@ymif Perhaps, but note that all the plaques with one exception have rather short lifespans, so I believe they are honoring pets that passed away, rather than family members. It seems unlikely that they *all* lost a person at such young ages. Pets make sense, because that's about the average lifespan of a cat, dog or other type of pet who was well taken care of. There is one plaque that is a clear dedication to a family member or friend, and that one has a full name on it. So to me, that conclusion just feels logical.

But...the memorials left for irl people are Soo beautiful! Im pretty sure they came from a sad place because they were created by the mourning, but that's so beautiful that they are now immortalized in the game's code, and now so many Easter egg hunting players can search for them and pay respect to ppl who meant so much to those able to be such a big part of our lives.

The dog at 8:26 is like the reference to the story of hachicko who waited for maybe ten years and many people showed their mercy they fed him and until one day he died in th station where his owner riding a train for his work he grew old there and he dreamed that him and his owner were together now but one thing he did not knew is they are already dead his owner died during his work hour but his dog did not accept it he just kept waiting and waiting until he grew older.

Emma was a pet of some kind. 21 years old is pretty old for most animals. You can tell she's a pet, because there's no last name. The gravestones that are meant to honor the people they lost have first and last names on it.
@ymif Perhaps, but note that all the plaques with one exception have rather short lifespans, so I believe they are honoring pets that passed away, rather than family members. It seems unlikely that they *all* lost a person at such young ages. Pets make sense, because that's about the average lifespan of a cat, dog or other type of pet who was well taken care of.
There is one plaque that is a clear dedication to a family member or friend, and that one has a full name on it. So to me, that conclusion just feels logical.

But...the memorials left for irl people are Soo beautiful! Im pretty sure they came from a sad place because they were created by the mourning, but that's so beautiful that they are now immortalized in the game's code, and now so many Easter egg hunting players can search for them and pay respect to ppl who meant so much to those able to be such a big part of our lives.
