I love this video! We’re getting our gear together now so we can start fine tuning before our September Camino! (In the US we call the clip a clothespin)
Love you guys! Last year walked my first Camino following your wisdom and now I am preparing my second. Thank you so much. You are fantastic and I hope to meet you in person one day. I have some physical restrictions. last year I walked from Tui and took all the alternative routes. This year I will walk from Lugo to Santiago and from Santiago to Fisterre. I am 62 almost and walk sola: profound experience. And After listening to one of your videos yesterday, I am thinking the second two weeks of June. Safe travels to Japan! Will bring your jornal this time.
Hi Silvia! Thank you so much for getting in touch! We absolutely adore hearing stories from those who embark on the Camino journey… falling in love with it and returning to walk it again is truly special. And a big salute to you for making this journey solo; it adds a completely unique dimension to the Camino experience! Please, if you have any, send us some pictures or tag us on Facebook. We’d love to see your adventures with the Journal. 🥰🙏
Ever since I saw your video on types of pilgrims - the one where you have the enthusiast picking out the fastest-drying clothes from their drying rack, which is hilarious - when I see my drying rack, I’m picking out the fast-drying winners. (It’s always the merino, because merino is the only thing I want anymore.) I’m planning a 10-14 day trek across Scotland before beginning my Camino, so I will have two packs when I travel to Europe: one light pack, and one very heavy one. I am happy to find out that I can send all the supplies I don’t need to Santiago for very little expense using a service from Express Bourricot. So, for example, if you have to put your backpack in a duffel bag to keep it safe from the airport handlers, you can put your tourist clothes in there, too, and send the extra travel supplies ahead to Santiago - and not carry it on your back the whole Way. They don’t even charge rent for it, and there is no time limit. What a luxury!
The word you were looking for is “clothespin.” Clothes pin, but one word. A peg is also a clothespin, but the kind that doesn’t have a hinge, like a safety pin would.
Great video! Too many people overpack and carry way more weight than they need. My first Camino I had managed to get my pack weight to around 11-12 lbs. I trimmed that down (20 years in the Army destroyed my knees and back) to around 4 lbs without water weight and food that I would carry. I could maybe go a little lighter, but then it's getting "stupid" light and would be neglecting necessities
On the second Camino this year, I had to leave my little guitar at home as my back also was complaining about unnecessary weight! And yes, I had to change a bag pack and now it’s only 1.2 kg…
I finally followed your advice. I bought a merino, long sleeve top. In a sale, half price, three sizes too big. Oh I thought, shrink to fit. I've just read the label, especially treated to stop shrinkage.......
Thanks so much, you guys 🙂 i'm going on camino march 2024, leaving from my hometown in Ostend, Belgium, going to Santiago, Muxia and Finisterre...will be on the camino for about 3 to 4 months. This video helps alot...gracias mil ♥
I traveled the Ingles last September bringing much too much. But, I’m 6’3” and 220 lbs. now I will follow you’re lead. This September with total 20 days Primitivo or Portuguese, not sure.
Ramon! How are you? Sorry for the late answer but we are finishing the Camino Portuguese- only 2 days till Muxia! Thanks for the SUPPORT, we will have a coffee one of those days! Regarding your little dilema, let me ask you, what the choice of THESE two? Knowing your motivation you can get more clarity, as they are both different experiences! Hugs
Another great video from you both, you guys are awesome thanks! I thought you are also taking a small lunch box? I did not see you show it this time. Buen Camino
Useful video. But how about sleeping bags? Oh, and I've found it very useful to have a power bank, cause in some albergues there aren't enough sockets for everyone, or you arrive late and get a bed in the middle of the room, and don't want to disturb sleeping neighbours.
Erica is a keeper......I know these things because I am also an Erika with a K and I married a man who resembles you and it is 30 years later!! 😅😅 My camino will be solo in Sept this year Buen Camino!!
Hi guys, you are too hilarious, congrats. PS, I have just purchased the PDF book, but I haven't received? Nor I received an email, does it normally take a while to receive it? Cheers guys, keep doing it like that 😊
Hello Gigi, thanks for your message ❤️ sorry to hear that you had problems when buying the guide. We just sent you an email with the guide, check your inbox and let us know 🥰 big hugs!
Superb video ! You mentioned putting vaseline on your feet before the walk, does this makes them a bit oily at the end of the day or it gets absorbed ? also what size are your backpacks (for 5kg they look nice and small, maybe you can even take them on board in an airplane) ? The name of the thing for the washing is μανταλάκι (mantalaki, Greek,), just in case you come hiking in Greece 😁 !
Hi George! Thanks for commenting :) are you getting ready for the Camino? We use 28l and 30l bags, they are cabin bags! The only thing we cannot take onboard are the walking sticks if you use them… on Sunday we will have a LiVE Q&A and will answer more questions… see you there !hugs
Another great video, but Ricky needs to put his jacket in the pack and re-weigh it. Also, I still have not figured out what is at the top of the photo on the cover of your new Camino guide…. It looks fleshy(?)
The jacket is already inside… but the lil’ guitar is the problem! The thing on the top of the cover is a dried pumpkin which used to be used as a bottle of water, but if we look at it now… it looks suspicious ;) hahahah hugsssss
Thanks a mil! We only did 400km with the guitalele, 6 string mini guitar, but then we had no much time and energy to play… and it’s 2kg extra! So it was a heart breaking decision to leave it at home for the French way….
Thanks Mr! Nop, I trim it once and then every time I need I just go to a local barber… sometimes they are elder barbers that never seen a stranger in their village neither trim a ginger beard… long story short- an adventure! Hugs
Hello Uriana, thanks for your question. We are going to answer it in our live stream tonight at 6pm UK TIME: ua-cam.com/users/livee4dHf2sb_Zs?si=q9VuoGSP2zQs2E6B If you cannot make it, you will still be able to watch the replay 😊 Buen Camino!
If you go for public albergues, the sleeping back can be useful- necessary! If you stay in private albergues or hotels, no need! On the end, we took one with us on spring season : +10degree.

Goldenglobe award for the funniest packing list video🏆😂👏👏👏Muy bien amigos mio.
Glad you enjoyed it
I recently bought 2 copies of The Journey Within, thank you for this wonderful companion on our journey
Wowww! Thanks a lot, when are you starting your Camino?

Glad you like them!

May I recommend a trick with drybags. While closing it - sit on it. You'll be amazed of how flat it gets.
I finally followed your advice. I bought a merino, long sleeve top. In a sale, half price, three sizes too big. Oh I thought, shrink to fit. I've just read the label, especially treated to stop shrinkage.......
Don’t worry, mine shrined!

Thanks a lot! We forgot to mention it… also we forgot the bottle of water! But yep, lunch box is a must!
Clothes pins or for some countries, they call them pegs.
No sleeping bag or water bottles?
Yep, water bottle is a good idea ;) and something for the memory so I won’t forget to mention it the next time 😂
Useful video. But how about sleeping bags? Oh, and I've found it very useful to have a power bank, cause in some albergues there aren't enough sockets for everyone, or you arrive late and get a bed in the middle of the room, and don't want to disturb sleeping neighbours.
That’s right, what about a sleeping bag and/or liner?
Great tip! Sleeping bag is optional as in many private albergues its provided… but in the public “albergue” necessary!
I'm on the Camino now....a powerbank is an absolute must.
@@adib396 Aliiiii! you finally made it! how are you? need to tell us more!
I like the Hawaiian guitar. Impressive weight on both packs! Bueno!!
So cute and so informative. Thank you. (Clothespin)
Superb and fun video as usual....and equally important...very useful. Thanks so much
Thanks so much! 💚💚

Get better! And when you put, walking makes wonders! And for preparation- don’t hesitate to ask ;)
Washing tong 😂😂 I love it!!… but we would call it a ‘peg’
We call it a clothes pin.
In Australia, it's called a 'peg'
Thank you for this. Some good ideas for my go-bag too! I call the washing hanging up clips, pegs (UK) 🤣 Really enjoyed. All the best to you both.
Thanks a lot!
You mean clothes-pegs!!!
Why is your backpack 2 kg and not 800 g like Ericas?
Jens, my backpack is a made for filmmakers, it’s not a 100% hiking backpack… but I still won the competition 😅

Hello! Is the same backpacking list things for the Primitivo as well ?
Hi 👋! List is similar for the summer in Primitivo. If you go in spring or autumn, take some extra warmer clothes. Hugs
Here you have some recommendations for winter and spring: caminotellers.com/packinglist/
Whats the best month to do the camino

+10degree.

Super! Thanks
Wow, that's minimal clothing for over a month of walking.
Yes, when you have to carry the backpack on your shoulder, every inch counts! 😂
hahahah no one is gonna suffer -- from your stinky clothes I can't .... thank you guys for uploading this video.
Hahaha we had lots of fun making it

So funny your girl friend uses hands and legs to get all her stuff in the backpack xD

Do you need to pack a towel?
Yes! Go in the description of any video and you'll see the one we have and highly recommend
sleeping bag??? towels????
sleeping bag is not a must, all depanding on the time of the year.
Washing tongs = a clothes peg
🤗😀
You can scrape your tongue with the bottom of the toothpaste tube so you don't have to carry the spoon.
Actually I lost the tongue scraper few weeks ago and since then I use your method… works quite well!

Sleeping bag?
