I’ve been watching Camino videos and hands down yours are the best on UA-cam! ❤ Lainey’s packing lists are perfection (Shawn’s cause a bit of anxiety 😂). Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Great list! Totally agree with you on buttons and belt loops on shorts. It is harder than it should be to find stretch/yoga waist hiking bottoms! In 2022, I wore Rab shorts, which I see you mentioned in your Camino Frances packing list, and OR Krypta capri legging pants. The waist on the OR capris was a little snug when pulling the down over my hips, so I am hunting for a replacement for the capris and keeping my fingers crossed that they bring them back with a more stretching waistband next season.
Another likeminded person! Yay! I loooooooved the Rab shorts. They were a bit tight to pull over my hips for the first month of wear. But the elastic relaxed enough that it wasn't an issue after that. And, they still fit great despite the slight stretching. I'll keep my eye out for the capris!
I really love it. It's fully adjustable on the back panel, so I didn't need to try it on. USWE kindly sent us this to try. I wouldn't recommend it if I didn't absolutely love it. I have more details on the bag in my Invierno packing list video: ua-cam.com/video/vlEGq-eT96w/v-deo.html
Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful. It's the Coolmax Cocoon. alnk.to/9xgF46b I've had this one since 2015. When I upgrade (eventually), I'll go with a silk one. Lighter, packs smaller, but more expensive.
The full list is in the description. We’re working on a blog post with more detail, but that’s gotta wait until we’re back home (on the Camino right now!)
I was thinking of taking 2 T-shirts for hiking instead of 1 so that I could wash one out and if not dry, hang it from my pack the next day. Didn't your shirt smell after all of those days??? 🙂
It totally works to bring 2 hiking shirts. I’ve found that my shirt is always dry (enough) the next morning. I always wear a Merino wool shirt. It dries quickly and doesn’t smell the next day. As long as you bring a quick dry fabric, you won’t have a problem with wet shirts. Socks on the other hand, even wool ones take forever to dry since they’re thick.
Absolutely. We save a little money traveling together, but albergues charge per person, and most meals are still per person, so it's almost the exact same as traveling with two people.
Dear Lainey, My sister & I are walking the Chemin Du Puy starting April 4, 2024. I am staunchly bringing my Costco lightweight quilt. My sister thinks, since we'll be staying mostly in Gites (demi pensions), she doesn't need one. I sent her your "Women's Packing List for Spring/Summer" but she seems to need a " from God's lips to your ears" final answer. 🙂
Hi Joyce, April will likely still be quite cold on the Aubrac Plateau. If you sleep cold, it's probably a good idea to bring the quilt. We found that most gîtes had blankets but they weren't always very large or warm. We also walked the Le Puy in summer, so I wasn't looking for the blankets. Bon Chemin!

Hahaha this is amazing! Easily the perfect description of our packing styles. Thanks so much for watching. Hope to see you on the Camino someday!

very informative, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Whooo-Hoo! I didn't know that REI had sock lines.. yea!
Yeah! They're great!
i love the look of this pack. for reference, how tall are you? i'm 5-4
It’s a great bag. I’m 5-1 and it actually fits me. The back harness is completely adjustable for different torso sizes.
Looks like a great backpack! Were you able to try it on in the store to make sure it fit?

Super helpful, thank you so much. Which Cocoon liner material did you go with?

Did you get a chance to post a full list?
The full list is in the description. We’re working on a blog post with more detail, but that’s gotta wait until we’re back home (on the Camino right now!)
Curious, Did you size up your Ultra Lone Peak 6’s?
Yes. A full size. I'm usually a 7.5 and I have an 8.5. It's definitely a preference whether to size up 1/2 or a full size.
How would you change your packing list for WINTER- October on the Frances?
I would bring the same thing that I brought on the Invierno. Here's my packing list for that: ua-cam.com/video/vlEGq-eT96w/v-deo.html
hi. so do you need to bring a sleeping bag for the camino? I am planning only to bring the cocoon liner
It depends on the time of year and if you want to use the blankets that most albergues have. In the summer, we recommend only a sleep liner.
@@DaysWeSpend thank you!

36 L is still really great!
Right?1 Ive got a 40L But i do not plan on filling it up.. I like this LEAN Packing list...
@@Caminoin23-rx5xh Always leave room for snacks. :)
Only 2 shirts, wow
Yup! Less is more (and laundry every day!)
What size Airlite Sea to Summit towel is going on your next Camino? Medium(39x20", 1.7oz) or Large(47x24", 2.4oz)?
We’ve both got the large (but we bought it on the European site so it might be a bit different than the US sizes). Works great!
