I feel that Steph is always complaining though, maybe thats the reason people were annoyed whereas Xenia actually knows how to describe and give proper judgement about the food she tasted.
Rice yea, Steph is just a try hard, smart Alec. Always acting cute & bubbly, whines so much like a little brat. & her voice. Gosh. Basically an extremely annoying person. Can't enjoy watching any eatbook video with her in it.

In Malaysia you can buy a 6 pack Yakut for 6 MYR ... that's like 40c 🤣 Singapore is rip off.

Yes, Tong Ya is Kaya toast heaven. Xenia, if you're as obsessed with kaya toast as I am, def check that out (along Keong Saik Road in Chinatown). They do normal, super crispy, steamed bread and french toast. Get all also can. :)
Good Morning Nanyang Cafe in Far East Plaza is my all time favourite though. As good as tong ya but better service and setting.
And Teck Huat Coffee Roti is another good one - they have stalls in a number of coffee shops around Singapore - Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, Sin Ming food centre, Jln Batu, Bedok South Rd (opp TJC) and I think a few others in Hougang and other parts of AMK.
If you like Hainanese kaya, I agree with another poster who recommended Koufu. BUT it really depends on the outlet how well they prepare it, so there may be hits and misses with them. And speaking of inconsistencies, for the best Ya Kun experience, the original outlet at Chinatown square can't be beaten. They toast the bread over charcoal! I'm convinced it tastes difference even though I'll never be able to prove this. :P
Caveat - I don't like butter so get these with kaya only, but they use legit butter, not the planta kind so should be good!
sometimes the bread is too warm until the kaya just slides off the bread and falls on my pants

i actually dont like ya kun kaya toast. i prefer white bread thus toast box and killiney are the best! toast box also has the best coffee
One of the judges give 4/10 for ya kun?? Lol he must have not like kaya toast at the first place
for toast it's definitely still yakun, but sadly their coffee quality has gone down the drain.
It's not a very fair taste test in the sense that different outlets have different standards.

I horrified staff at an Old Town White Coffee outlet in Kota K, by putting Vegemite on my Kaya toast. It was yummy with the eggs.
