@@Letsberealish you can't do this kind of lap on the Nordschleife with the current ground effect F1 cars. Way too bumy, so the F1 cars would suddenly lose a lot of down force, making them much easier to snap, spin and therefore crash. They would need to druve carefully, while the GT3 cars could race just as they always do. Now, take the older F1 cars, all up till 2021, and you would see a similar result as in the video...
People tend to forget that GT3’s are some of the fastest racing cars out there. They’re reaching 250-290 kph (depending on the track). Also the cornering speed is ridiculous compared to other closed racing cockpit cars (which aren’t Hypercars, LMP’s and GT500’s). IIrc they reach lateral g forces of 3 to 4.
Can you do it with Monza 1966 ring layout and today's layout? Every lap the F1 needs to complete the lap with the old ring and the Mercedes needs to complete every lap without the ring, I think it would be a close battle
It'd be nice to have some crazy multiclass in Sims. Something like gt3, f1, sf, hypercar, gt4, radical, or whatever is fun to race with, all in a single track.
Concepts like that account for probably 45% of my hours in AC alone. Multiclass with eras of any given class, prototype generations, all the formula cars, Class 1 and TCR, F1/Indy/P1... Nearly endless combinations.
that's all i did back in forza motorsport 4. i'd go to the nordscheilfer and put one car from each game class (f through to S) in the track, picking specific cars that pretty much tied with the staggered starts i gave. then i picked a random car out of those to drive. no matter which one you pick you have a shot at winning. it's always tense and fun. too bad that game doesn't let you do custom races like that offline, otherwise i'd still be playing it. and the new game only caters to boring generic multiplayer and don't even allow player lobbies like this
I was expecting the F1 overtake at sector 2, but that GT3 was holding till the end, epic battle! Suggestion: a minimap would really help understand the gap between the two, in big circuits like the Nurbürgring is difficult to recognise where the cars truly are and their gap
You won't see that with ground effect cars. The ring is way too bumpy for that. Losing downforce in almost every corner wouldn't be fun. It's easy to do in a sim since only the downforce parameter is counted, not how they get it. That's why you won't se an accurate representation of a ground effect F1 car on the ring.

I know that the f1 car does 1.30sec around the gp and 5mins on the nordschleife, so a time of 6.30sec, remember seeing gt3 do 6.30sec from a recent search so i knew it'll be a close one.

But on the other hand, the F1 car got a track layout that is not used by any racing series (and is longer and slower than any real layouts). The real N24 layout shortcuts the Mercedes Arena, and uses the faster last chicane on the GP track instead of the slow GP layout chicane.
GT3 racing is still fast lets not forget that. But its vastly different from F1 racing. Its important to respect both and remember they're both interesting in their own way

Just a little more fun math: Highest speed before braking at Bergwerk corner (4:05) is 308 km/h (85 m/s) and slowest speed 163 km/h (45 m/s) so if all the energy would be recovered that would be equal to 0,18 kWh of kinetic energy. So around 16% energy recovered after going full throttle 3:56 to 4:05 taking the 33 seconds into acound that would mean that around 27% of charge was used which would mean that 89% would be the highest we could hope for. Considering we haven't taken into account possible losses and a huge part of the kinetic energy would be converted into heat by the brakes... Yes, clearly not a carbon copy ;) Enjoy your weekend :)

That was WAY too close than it had any right to be. Pretty sure the GT3 would have reached the Industriefahrten start/finish before the F1 car reached the GP start/finish... that might have been the difference!

Yeah, not a chance that this is even close to representative. I saw at least one occasion of kerb usage that would have sent the F1 car to outer space. Also interested in how much you cranked up the downforce on the F1 car to make sure it didn't fly off the track at the jump and either just shatter or completely lose control by going over it conpletely full throttle while the GT3 had to brake hard into it? Even more interested in how you set the ride height and suspension. F1 cars would need to be at pretty much maximum ride height to even survive the Nordschleife, never mind softening the suspension significantly, all of which would reduce its top speed to a lot lower than was achieved in this video. I think the sim you're using here has some very obvious limitations that make this super unrealistic.

That's why I love sim racing so much, you can do things that wouldn't be possible in real life. It's nice to see how fast an F1 car is on the Schleife

That's probably the section with the greatest pace difference. It's all medium to high speed corners, the ones where downforce does the most.
