No where to hide. Life stripped to it's bare essentials. This kind of performance is quite terrifying to an artist because it boils down to a singularity, your voice. Sir, you have the voice that electrifies when you sing and you absolutely dont need anything else. You are a treasure.

And he doesn't pretend that it is HIS song - it always feels to me that he is singing a song written by someone else but has his own emotions and life experiences into it. He owns the song, but realizes someone else can own it also. Incredibly well done.
I’ve listened to Joni through the years, and so many who have covered her song. I almost passed this one by. But what a mistake that would have been. Just wow. And I’m actually surprised it was a male voice that prompted this reaction from me. Yet, it was his resonance from the beginning that took me away. The tempo was spot-on. The pianist … perfection. He had just an ounce of raspiness that landed perfectly. And still, it was his clarity that consumed me. Most who cover this song miss one thing you cannot teach … he had the “ups and downs” of the heart. It meant something. It was not just hitting notes and words. So right out loud, and this truly is saying something .. this is the best cover I’ve ever heard.
