- 25-year-old gardener Erlend Gunstveit didn’t believe in having a music career until The Voice Norway called. Being self-thought through UA-cam videos, Erlend came to The Voice studio not expecting anything. Coach Matoma heard something in his incredible voice and was the only Coach to turn. Sometimes the four chair turns are a big disappointment, it goes downhill from there. Kind of like a one hit wonder.

I find the sweet judge who is really in touch with his emotions quite moving. What a gift it is to performers to witness how their voice can affect another person. I think that this is much more powerful than judgements or commentary we forget.

I think that Erland Gunstveit's voice has a quality of soft velvet with just a little whiskey added for flavor. A fine set of performances for the entire program. Bravo Erland!!!
He is with no doubt one of the best voices that has ever come out of Norway! I mean, this guy could sing the phone book and it would sound incredible!! His voice is as smooth as silk, and the American market will greet him with open arms. This young man has an incredible journey and career ahead of him. I will never understand how he only got one turn.
Looks like he got the best coach anyway. Who knows. If one or more of the others had turned, he might have chosen someone other than Matoma. Perhaps destiny had a better plan.
He has that beautiful broad round tone of a baritone yet can reach into the upper register with minimal effort, otherwise known as a baritenor. I love this guy's voice.

Erlend is just a natural country singer, some have to develop the twang but his is just pure. Every song is a very much high quality performances. Hope he can come to America and records songs for sure I will buy that album.
What an excellent performance and Matoma has done a remarkable job in song selection. I could listen to Erlend all day, all year and the time. A well deserved win for him and his coach. The Voice Norway is one of the best! The coaches are heartwarming, caring and you can tell they invest their emotions into all contestants and their performances.. Well done to all involved. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing to be a one chair turn. I think the other coaches had NO CLUE what to do with him. He was WAY out of the comfort zone.
My thoughts exactly. His voice is amazing and powerful but could easily be used wrong and trash his career. Better one that can help him grow then four that can't. A country music singer is not an easy task for most coach's. The style of singing isn't something that can be used in other areas very well.
Erlend's voice is so powerful and Matoma knew what he could make him win because they are two emotional men and Matoma knew he was going to be the winner and I am happy Matoma was the only coach to turn for this amazing artist/singer. Way to go Matoma and Erlend WOO HOO!!!!

“Everglow” & “Both Sides Now” speechless no words can describe his brilliant voice.
'Free Falling' is one of my favourite songs and he really made it his own. That was really impressive. Looks like he deserved the win! A real story-teller. And I love his coach.....such a sensitive guy!
The first time i heard him sing in the blind audition, i was stumped that only 1 judge turned. But this judge is clearly in love with his voice, unlike the other judges who waited for more judges to press the buttons before they press theirs.
This guy’s voice is perfect for any song type: country, ballad & rock especially

I can't necessarily say I have a favorite as each are perfectly suited to his voice. I do love, not sure the title, but where he says "I will wait for you." It's upbeat and he's having so much fun.
