KINDA IMPORTANT IF YOU'RE BUILDING THIS DECK: Heyyo! Your video today got me inspired enough to go to my LCS and finally build Despia. I'm a Locals hangoutter who has built decks from Mathmech, Floowandereeze, Ancient Warriors, Numeron, Madolche, Sky Striker, Marincess, Melffy, and so on. I've not topped or even performed in any YCS/Regionals (Have topped locals enough) but HEAR ME OUT... Your deck profile is super clean and I like the ratios, but your extra deck feels off by one card. The current way your deck is built has ZERO ways to out any tower monster bigger than 3k. I think as a really, really smart meta call (and as an additional $48 budget decrease) you should take out the 2nd Guardian Chimera that doesn't come up often and replace it for Starving Venom. Not as a Super-poly Target, per se. But as a way to out Towers by having something chunky enough to swing over. EZ To make with the Frightfur engine and also DOES make for another superpoly target. TL;DR: 2 Chimeras is win-more. Changing one out for a Starving Venom makes the deck able to play around big Towers because nothing else in the deck can and adds an additional super-poly target.
This was pure gold for me. I wont lie, I've been sleeping on the Dragon Keeper. I will be adding that in to my deck and trying some combos this week for sure

I might actually try out Ra’s Disciple in my Lair of Branded Krystia deck. I’ve actually started using Dragoon for a end board of usually sometimes with him, Mirrorjade, and few traps.
I can appreciate that you are honest and give credit that you got inspiration for your combo from somewhere else unlike these fools that only give shoutouts to their circle and plaster god tier and tier zero over every one of their deck profiles
Expulsion is a really nice card, giving us so many targets to play with. Playing around with it since POTE release and you could also send Dark targets like Jinzo, Invaders of Chaos, The End of Anubis or even a Banisher of Light. Jinzo against trap decks like Labrynth, Eldlich, Invader against Spright/Runick (although they could already chain their cards to Expulsion to play around it), Banisher against Floo and Anubis against Tear. End of Anubis is weak in defense tho have to protect it against attacks. I like your take with Keeper I'll try that soon.

Hey guys, maybe one of you can help me with a little something I encountered while playing with a friend. We played Adamancipator against Despia and I really struggle to put anything against his Dragite. There seem to be just too many starters for Despia to handle, and with returning cards to the hand (or essentially shuffling the Fusion monsters back into the Extra Deck), it circumvents basically all removal follow ups that Despia normally has (like Quaeritis, Theatre, Mirrorjade, Opening, etc.), while also Super Poly is a dead card because there are no Lights, Darks or Dragons. On top of that he also plays Naturia Beast and Koa'ki Meiru Guardian to completely lock me down. Saying all this, how would you try to stop him getting to Dragite, or how would you play against Adamancipator as a Despia player in general? Thanks in advance for anyone interested in answering:)
I run my deck almost the same exact way, I will have to try out the keeper of dragon mage though. I'm not a fan or fluffy cards the deck runs good with and without them. And the scythe lock combo is so GOOOOOOD people really don't see it coming.
Wooow, I didn't know about that expulsion card!! Using tragedy to keep bringing back expulsion which keeps bringing back scythe was really cool. I know scythe locking is gross, but using tragedy's secondary ability (and usually lesser used ability) to loop a combo was really cool to see!! 🥶
So, I haven't really messed with Despia before all too much, so my question for this deck is How do you play past hand traps and negates? Let's say your Keeper, Aluber or Fusion gets stopped? What else could you potentially draw in your opening hand that helps you play past that? I'm really looking into getting into Despia so I'd like to know how to do all this if someone could let me know!
Thats the biggest knock on Despia, that one ash blossom ends your turn. Counters to this are drawing Albaz + a way to fuse him off into Albion or Lubellion, drawing the called by lol, opening keeper/instant fusion + a way to branded fusion (you use instant fusion to make millennium eyes restrict before going for branded fusion so it can't get ashed unless they have double handtrap). Overall its super hard to play through handtraps with this deck which is why it has fallen off so hard but in formats that are very nib focused, board breaker focused, or when ash is bad all around, this can put in some work. I hope that helps!
If you fear certain hand traps, you can counter play them with crossout designator, assuming you are running at least a copy of the hand trap as well. I personally ran triple tactics talent so if they hand trap me, I can either rip another card if I can keep going, or draw 2 to dig a little bit for a possible extender or another starter. I've found most people will hold the ash for the branded fusion so you still get fusion locked (just in case you run a couple of links), so if you open the fusion and have gamma, you pretty much just win out from there.
I think its way easier to do this combo just by opening Aluber. It can get caught off guard by a DD Crow or Called by, but to be fair Keeper of Dragon Magic gets got by Ash or Imperm and now you discarded a card on top of that. It seems minus as hell if ur opp has any response at all. If you open aluber u can use Branded Fusion to make Albion by sending scythe & albaz, then banish albaz and albion for Mirrorjade and banish ur own aluber w mirror jade eff. End phase u set the Branded Expulsion and ur done. You only have to open Aluber or Branded Opening and you dont have to discard to search. Thats my 2 cents, regardless keep up the great vids bro.
@@BlazingGear No my friend, you make mirror jade with Albion and Albaz. Then send another albion from Extra deck with Mirrorjade to banish ur own aluber and set Expulsion at EP
Only problem is your opponent is going to use Effect Veiler, followed by Ash Blossom, and if you some how get around all that they will hit you with Super Poly. Besides that really nice deck

I also thought people weren't on expulsion because of how gimmicky it is, and branded fusion is very likely to get ashed. But I would definitely like to see the deck do a gauntlet against spright, tears, runick spright, etc. Love the content Cali keep it up

@@Ser-- I mean, it's cheap, so most players can use it. It's not super busted, compared to the curent meta, and I'm generally glad that if other people took notice of this and find it effective then it wasn't just dumb luck, it has potential
You can do the expulsion combo in a much more effective way that has less steps, doesn't eat your normal summon for keeper, and also gives you a Mirrorjade

11:00. I play ghost mourner over effect veiler. It's got it's own applications, but it sure does stop scythe. I don't get why people say despia is not good. Have you seen what it does? Sure nothing compares to the 2 best decks, but it keeps up. It keeps up alright. This deck doesn't run out of gas

well, in OCG branded opening is semi limited anyways, now for standard tcg this doesn't matter but i get a lot of my info from OCG tournament statistics, because usually OCG knows what their doing, like recently someone got top 16 WITH MIKANKO

This deck does reasonably well against spright going First because their small bodies, If you go Second and your oponent doesnt pull the toad or you respond to It (you dont NEED to Go Nibiru, you can Go any other handtrap that fits your meta) sometimes you can just attack over their board

I'm confused. Ended up with 45 cards for the deck. Removed the Ra, Lance, and Archlord and had 42. I couldn't add a Super Poly due to making this deck on Masterduel so it's suppsed to have 43 cards?

If you summon scythe to your field and aluber to your opponent's then imperm is a dead card. And droplets can stop it, but your opponent will have to go -1 just to be available to play.
@@Malister23 Even if they use Droplet to send the monster you gave them and negate Scythe FOR FREEEE, this was a 1.5 card combo and with 3 Red if you open it (or the trap) you can just chain Red to fuse Scythe away and dodge Droplet. It was just a demonstration of how good Keeper is for the deck. EDIT: Even if they also have Imperm, their already activated Droplet will prevent its activation.

Lol I play a weird 60 card branded darklord build, but it's ironically really consistent. Personally, I didn't think it would flow so well, but hey...went 4-0 and 2 different locals. To be fair, they had no clue what the heck my deck was aiming to do until it was too late haha.
Alba lenatus says to special summon this card you can send the fusion materials to the grave. This is not the fusion summon where you can actually use face down monsters. So can you send a face down Albaz?

Destiny hero dark angel is a really good one I found recently, shuts down despia and stops your opponent from using board breakers
Banisher doesn't hurt Floo. They want their birbs banished.

Disciple lock is just as good. They can't special summon PERIOD.
With Snow banned I added Mercourier since we lack a true replacement. Would be interested in what others would suggest

Albion can't make Mirrorjade by banishing Albaz and Scythe. Scythe is not a fusion/synchro/xyz/link monster...

Keeper is a more accesible and simpler card to use, although it does consumes your normal summon, it also grabs your fusions all day everyday

I've been testing playing dragoon with a single copy of Dark magician in the deck. It works pretty good
on the first line of combo instead of despian quaeritis you could go into masquerade for more presure

Any ideas if we could add Dragoon in the deck? Meaning , what could we replace or add to make it functional with Dragoon (if it's possible even).
Use branded fusion to summon albion, with albaz and light hex sealed fusion as material. Then use albion to summon dragoon. ez

Some of the discard effects are good for Shaddolls. Any other archetypes that are good for Branded besides Dogmatika and Despia?

So the combo is basically praying to resolve scythe or go game 2? Because droplets and imperm can stop it and are seeing play
If you summon scythe to your field and aluber to your opponent's then imperm is a dead card. And droplets can stop it, but your opponent will have to go -1 just to be available to play.

@@Malister23 Even if they use Droplet to send the monster you gave them and negate Scythe FOR FREEEE, this was a 1.5 card combo and with 3 Red if you open it (or the trap) you can just chain Red to fuse Scythe away and dodge Droplet.
It was just a demonstration of how good Keeper is for the deck.
EDIT: Even if they also have Imperm, their already activated Droplet will prevent its activation.

Lol I play a weird 60 card branded darklord build, but it's ironically really consistent. Personally, I didn't think it would flow so well, but hey...went 4-0 and 2 different locals. To be fair, they had no clue what the heck my deck was aiming to do until it was too late haha.

Alba lenatus says to special summon this card you can send the fusion materials to the grave. This is not the fusion summon where you can actually use face down monsters. So can you send a face down Albaz?
yepp you can fusion with face down materials
The fusion mechanic does not check materials until they are in the graveyard. So yes, you can use face down monsters.
I fucking know! But it says to special summon this card you don’t need poly. So is it like a contact Fusion? Will it be treated as a fusion summon?
