I’ve had this exact jacket for 5 years and it’s a staple that can last a lifetime - It can be layered and you can wear it for 3 of the 4 seasons here in England - a true classic
The longer sleeves on the Belstaff are likely a design feature for riding a motor bike. I have had both Barbour and Belstaff for some years now---both have endured abuse well. Of course if you're looking for leather that same Fieldmaster design is a great call (particularly because it's actually less costly than other leathers of similar (excellent) quality). My leather version has a Made in Italy tag, and Belstaff is now an Italian company.
I love both my belstaff and Barbour jackets. The only problem I find with belstaff is the sizing, I’ve had some very strange fitting items from them. So you would ideally want to try before you buy. But I do love having that badge on my arm.
If you want to try the Rolls Royce of wax jackets then you should try the Private White VC wax walker . It's way more expensive than both Barbour and Belstaff , but for connoisseurs of wax jackets it's regarded as the best .
The belstaff motorcycle trial master version is an absolute beast. It weighs a ton, is warmer than my Canada goose and totally waterproof yet breathable. It’s well worth the price compared to the fashion one.
@@OneManReviewsNo I think he is referring to the Belstaff Trialmaster Pro which is a technical wax cotton with abrasion resistance and armour for riding on a motorcycle.
What do you think about the metal rivets on the inside of the sleeve so where the buttons are on the inside there are metal parts and I'm afraid they will scratch my watch :(
Have both, the Barbour Jackets are a better bang for your buck, 100%. The Fieldmaster ist nearly 2x as expensive as a Beaufort in my country. The fit is much tighter on the Belstaff, wide shoulders do not fit in race or fieldmaster.
Is the polyester sleeve lining comparable to the Barbour Ashby? I’ve got the Ashby and I end up with damp shirt sleeves if I walk too fast, due to the lining making my arms sweat.
I love my Barbour International. Also have a Duke which is nice. I do have a Belstaff motorcycle overshirt (the Mansion) and it's good, but not as awesome as the Barbour. I've always been curious about the Trailmaster but given that it's basically a copy of the Barbour international there's no real reason to buy it.
Awesome video. I liked the shots in the rain. Explorer II goes well. I have Barbour Bedale 36, which fits perfect. Will this jacket be too long in the sleeves for me? 5’7” 135 lbs.
I recently purchased a Barbour Ashby and I love the fit but I was always interested in some of the Belstaff designs. I was wondering if you purchased the jacket from a store in Canada (if so, which retailer?) as I would prefer to try it on in person at the store. Keep up the great work!!!
Belstaff has a more sports orientated fit than Barbour due to them being based in motorcycle culture. Barbour International would be a better comparison.
Great jacket, enjoy! However I’d suggest not putting your arm over you wife’s shoulder while walking especially if she is wearing a white puffer. Belstaff one Puffer zero….. thanks for the review 😊
Wellidontthinkyoucare What Mynameis, has to be the strangest name I've ever heard! It's even worse than Sue! The Barbour looks so much better, the hand warmer placement makes sense. Whereas the other doesn't have hand pockets, just pockets to jam your hands into awkwardly and wish you were wearing the Barbour. It would help the Belstaff to be worn in some and not look so new.
I have both the Trialmaster and Beaufort. Although I like both of them, I have to say the material, finishing, quality and pattern cutting of Trialmaster are much better. It is made in Albania, and it is a lot better than those made in England.
I think 🤔 the Barbours are better, from what I’ve seen. Belstaff seem over priced by a mile. Il stick with Barbour 😎. I think 🤔 the classic Barbours are made in England, the more modern ones are made elsewhere
In the UK Barbour don't specify the country of manufacture on their non UK garments. It's all relative anyway because they import the cotton, the YKK zippers and outsource the wax and other materials. The English ones are designed assembled in England.

My Barbour Solway bought in 1973 still works and still worn . A few waxes since but hey I’m wrinkled too . 😂

No longer, Belstaff is back to British hands and belongs to the Ineos Group.
You look cool Neighbour! Awesome video!!! Cheers 🍻
Sleeves are longer for riding bikes! Belstaff are far better!

Are you talking about the leather version?

the Barbour Ashby what's size are you wearing thanks
Small
Awesome review. Thank you
Thank you!
Very dedicated standing in the rain. Very nice jacket although I still prefer the Beaufort if I could only have one.
Thanks :) Beaufort is my most favourite.

You need to test a Schott waxed jacket. They are brilliant.

Yep. Belstaff is more expensive in Canada too and it's also hard to find it.
2x more in the UK too
What baseball cap are you wearing?

I love my Belstaff Jackets - mine are made in Albania and Romania. I also have Barbour made in Vietnam, so there is that....

I prefer Filson over B&B but they have increased prices a lot in the last years
Filson is cool but I think it has a bit different design from Barbour & Belstaff. I like Freenote Cloth Riders Jacket in similar aesthetic.
That's a very nice jacket but also very expensive too!
I own many in both brands and Belstaff is just superior in style and execution. Belstaff are designed for Motorcycle hense the longer sleeve.

barbour do a coat called Corbridge . similar Style .
And at half the price too
Looking good.
Thanks.

Wearing jeans in the rain is always a bad idea. 😀

Thanks! Yep you gotta be careful with wax jackets when it's fresh. Lol :)
*I* care what your name is!
Freezing cold in winter, & like a sweaty boil in the bag in summer, much better materials around nowadays?
These coats are not for summer or cold winters.

The Albanian tag is a deal breaker for me.🤪😤
Understandable. Not a big deal for me though as long as the quality is good.
It’s way better than Barbour made in England, believe me.
Why put the Union flag tab on the jacket if it's not made there. I think that's misleading.
The materials are spun in England but then stitched together in Eastern Europe.
Belstaff have better quality and fit and look cooler, romania manufactured a lot of belstaff waxed shearling and leather jackets,
Wellidontthinkyoucare What Mynameis, has to be the strangest name I've ever heard! It's even worse than Sue!

Looks like an old model barbour
Welcome to the dark side!
Lol. Thanks!
How can you talk about Belstaff and not even mention a motorbike?
He said MOTO in the middle video 😄 I liked this review.
No comparison, barber all day long, now go stand in front of your bathroom mirror, apologise to barber, then slap yourself across the face
LOL
Sloany and uncool. Belstaff all day long
I think 🤔 the Barbours are better, from what I’ve seen. Belstaff seem over priced by a mile. Il stick with Barbour 😎. I think 🤔 the classic Barbours are made in England, the more modern ones are made elsewhere
Yeah, mine two Beaufort's are made in England. But Ashby is in Moldova.

I think it looks silly compared to a barbour.
Why?
The two front pockets don't look symetric. I guess it is normal but it looks like a bad chinese coat.
That’s actually done on purpose. The left angled chest pocket is the feature.
You look cool Neighbour! Awesome video!!! Cheers 🍻
Thanks man. Appreciate it :)
@@OneManReviews I have just added a poor man Cartier to my collection. I just got Hamilton H13519711 Mechanical in white dial. It is stunning!
