  • Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel in this tutorial I demonstrate how I paint white marble effects. This is a technique that anyone can do with a couple of brushes and it is my own made-up recipe after doing some experimentation. Following the great response I received after uploading my tutorial on painting green and red marble effects last year, someone was great enough to request white marble so thank you for being the inspiration behind this new video.

    This is a really cool technique, I'm going to have to try this. I hate swapping out airbrush colors and recleaning all the time, this seems much simpler!

      I'm glad you liked it, one of the reasons why I did experimenting until I came up with this technique. Shaping colors in an airbrush is quite exhausting 😴

    This is really excellent, and neatly sidesteps the main issue I ran into trying to do the masking material + airbrush method to minis--it's very difficult to get the baby wipes or cotton sheet wrapped tight enough on anything other than a flat surface. The saran wrap smearing in particular is a fine touch.

    • @FALCONMINISTUDIOS
      @FALCONMINISTUDIOS  2 роки тому +2

      Thank you I'm glad you like it. I also found that the baby wipe airbrush technique has its limitations and wouldn't work well with other types of shapes so I did some experiments amd came up with this method which can be used with any colors. If you experiment with different colors these same steps you might get some really good unexpected results that work on any model.

    Not being super talented, I gave it a quick and dirty try following the steps roughly.
    I can't believe it, the result actually looks very damn decent, especially for my first attempt! Will definitely use it more and see what I can achieve.
    Thank you very much!

    Just popping in to say that I wish I had found your video a week or two ago before I did all my basing with the gauze & rattle can method. This seems much easier to do and provides a more controlled result, even if it does take longer.
    I do plan on using something similar (same technique, different colors) to do the black marble columns for my display board. The gauze method does not work if you have to paint all the sides at the same time, so this was literally going to be impossible for me before. Thanks much for the easy to follow tutorial.

    Hello! I have watched many videos for a marble effect, in my humble opinion, your technique is superb and is the only one I would consider using. This is superior for many reasons, this effect can only be accomplished without an airbrush, total control is what you have presented! Using an airbrush eliminates the control you will need to truly create this effect! Excellent and spot on tutorial Sir., thank you!!!!!

    • @FALCONMINISTUDIOS
      @FALCONMINISTUDIOS  9 місяців тому

      Thank you! I would suggest black as the base, dark grey, light grey, and beige. Following these same steps beginning from the darkest colors up to the lightest. Finally a wash of diluted black to tie everything together and give it that "black marble" appeal. Perhaps I should make a video on other different color marble effects beginning with black! ✌️

    I was with you until the plastic, did you let the paint dry a little with the plastic on it? When I tried, paint came off on the plastic but didn’t reveal any of the gray underneath, just smeared the white into a blob. Yours looks great though

      Using the plastic makes sure you always do it while the paint is still wet. At least now you know by experience lol. Thank you I really appreciate it! Give it another try I promise it'll work this time.

      Saran wrap or plastic wrap is what we call it here in the States. I've never heard of cling film. I suppose it is the same considering it does cling onto things.
