Welcome to the hobby man, enjoy I am glad video can be of some help to you. Feel free to check out my other videos I have now. I will be making more soon.
I'm painting a LAAT/LE from Star Wars Legion and I did this effect on the base as I plan on doing my Vader with the same style. This guide was amazing and I will absolutely recommend it to anyone who asks how to do lava bases!
That is fantastic I am glad to know this was helpful. This is a perfect technique for star wars for sure will fit great with tour Darth Vader model! Thank you for your comment and kindness!
Awesome video and really good tips. I'm currently painting an abyssal demon army and decided on lava bases and I like what you did, many thanks for showing me this......
very nice. exactly what I was looking for for my chaos black Legion space marines bases. made very very cool thanks to you. greetings from Germany 🙋♂️🤘
Love your lava effects!!! Started back after a 50 year break, thank you for your content, so easy to follow. Doing an Aethon Heavy Sentinel walking over a lava flow, using OSL effect on the underside, keeping rest of model dark. Love to hear any thoughts you have on OSL from lava...
Thank you! 8m glad you enjoyed it. If I were to add varnish I would use a satin. Using a matt varnish will denatured the bright colors, using a gloss varnish will take away from the lava effect and it'll look more like a glory gel, satin is a perfect finish the brightness with stay the same while giving it a more realistic touch with very little shine visible.
It was a texture that was already part of the base. I used a Warhammer base but you can make your own with a smooth base by simply adding a thin coat of super fine sand.
This particular model is got from heroclix and they do have all the other avengers. Because this game is not as popular its hard to find some characters but they are out there. A new table top game called crisis protocal has every single avenger in there and the hulk model from them looks fantastic you should check it out!
I Don’t see a point of painting tutorials when everyone’s painting is different so trying to recreate this is pointless because it turns out nothing like it no matter what you do
That's the beauty of this hobby, everyone has a different result and a style. What works for me might not work for you exactly but at least videos provide guidelines to help start if you don't know where or how to start. I suggest just keep practicing and and trying out different things that's how I've learned and still learning. ✌️
i dont think its about recreating it exactly. He is showing the steps and giving tips. everyone finds there own style they are happy with but it helps to learn how to do some glazed shading, wet blending or other techniques that they can apply in other projects.
No bs. Straight to the point. Thank you for this video.
@@jacobkdl3483 your welcome my friend I'm glad you find it helpful.
Just recently started painting minis. Looking for lava tutorials and this popped up. Thanks for posting.

Love the look of this, the base texture gives the lava a certain "bubbly" feel which fits perfectly, much better than smoothly painted Lava
Thank you, its why I chose those bases. Lava is never really smooth so this fit well for the project.

" it's not a tuma" 😅
Clear, straightforward and replicateable. Great video!!
Thank you!
Where/How did you make the base? It looks great.
I made them simply out of cork chunks on Games workshop bases I had laying around.

Your welcome! ✌️
woooow
whats the rock made of? broken cork?
Yes it is
Great
I love how you used oreo cookies to make the rock
They are not just for eating 😎
GENIOOOOOOOOOO
✌️
Sir i have a question which glue you have used?
I used regular super glue for this project. It's my go to for everything else.
@@FALCONMINISTUDIOS ok thanks bro!
@@rikkatakanashi9386 your welcome! ✌️
One thing that could make it better is dark red and blacks applied with a drybrush for example along the edges to simulate cooled down bits and crust
Can I like this twice?
Glad you like it!
Loved this tutorial and it looks amazing. Would adding a varnish to it help reflect more? 🤔

@@FALCONMINISTUDIOS so I have done my first attempt. How can I show you? Instagram? Would like some pointers please
@@cupraflash6892 sounds good, please tag me on Instagram at falcon_mini_studios.
Did you just use charred wood for the rock?
I used cork pieces but you can use other things perhaps even wood if you texture the top to make it look like rock.
How did you make the rocks?
Simple cut up pieces of cork. They work great to represent magma rocks. Paimted them in a black color and thats it. Helps the lava effect really pop.
Is that cork board you used to make the rocks?
yup
how to add led light lava effect?? for my Sauron figure 😂
That would make a great video for sure!
@@FALCONMINISTUDIOS one question? how do you make the black rock effect texture?
How do you get rhe base bumpy texture?
It was a texture that was already part of the base. I used a Warhammer base but you can make your own with a smooth base by simply adding a thin coat of super fine sand.
