Hey, Christina! You helped me get into the financial freedom movement all the way back in November 2019. Your channel has helped me achieve so much. I went from having $2k on my savings account to $15k in 8 months by just cutting out on unnecessary expenses (cigarettes, alcohol, beauty products, hair salons, nail salons, take out, COFFEE!!!, clothes)... COVID has helped me realize that all that I found *ESSENTIAL* (especially whatever Beauty YT told me I needed) really was not important to me and it provided no real source of happiness. I never thought about all of the money I wasted until I saw my bank account grow... Now, I am in the process of opening a Roth IRA and less than $4k away from paying off my student loans. I’m so happy you popped up on my recommended feed! You are wise beyond words. Also, thank you so much for being honest and being transparent about your own challenges with us.
YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!! You should be so proud of you hard work and accomplishments. Eyes on the prize. Congratulations! I'm honored to have been a part of the journey ❤️
Hey guys, I recently got a new mic and am still figuring it out. I apologize about the weird scratches and pops in the audio. 😖 Audio improves around 9:06 - save your beautiful ears! 😭 I know what to fix for next time. I'd recommend to listen on a lower volume if using headphones/low volume in general or use closed captioning. I'm so sorry! It’s all I hear!
How to deal with your 'maybe' pieces? Wear them! Figure out how the piece makes you feel, if the material is comfortable, if the colour is flattering, does it fit your style, your life style... By the end of the day you'll know whether it's a keeper or not. (Sometimes by noon, lol.)
Thank you for addressing the pharmacy questions! As a tech, I wish more people understood it's a lot more than just "slapping a label on it". And...just because the doctor ordered it, doesn't mean we are filling it for you! Thanks for all you do!
It is very interesting to hear that you are look at your Budget every day! I think this might be the piece of the puzzle that was missing for me!! Thank you 🙏🏼
I love this! Sooooo happy to see you give a shoutout to A Small Wardrobe. I watch her EVERY SINGLE DAY, I am completely obsessed. I watch her videos over and over again, she is so incredibly helpful. In fact, my wardrobe is only about 40 pieces thanks to her advice :)
I feel a lot of people thing of the people that work in a pharmacy as the same as those that work in any other "shop". They forget or don't know that you have to study so much. One of my best friends is studing to become a pharmacist here in germany and she has the same workload as a medicine student. Thats also why you shouldn't order medication online (unless you live in the US and really can't effort it) because pharmacist really know what they are talking about. I owe the live of my grandma to one. I tried a low buy starting in march and that month was fine but then I got the money for my vacation refunded and I was sitting at home with too much money...so yeah. Now I'm back on track and started saving for a car :D
Thank you so much! I watched your low buy videos and I remember you talked about Dave Ramsey. When the lockdown started here in March, I listened to Total Money Makeover, made a budget, cut out crap and committed to a low buy gazelle intense budget. The result is I just paid off my student loan at the start of August! Now I am trying to get myself motivated for baby step 3 but as lockdown as eased so has my hold on the budget, whoops, its a journey. But thank you so, so much! Also, I am loving the decluttering and minimalism content!
Fellow pharmacist here, love your channel! Just starting on the decluttering journey which hopefully leads me to the minimalism lifestyle or at least the start to living with less😉
Thanks for sharing your perspectives and challenges. It's a journey for all of us! And thank you for explaining what community pharmacists do...wishing you and all my frontline colleagues to stay safe and well.
Wow, I've watched a few of your videos but wasn't sure if I should subscribe. Somehow, hearing your calming voice and that you are a pharmacist made me swoon! Haha! Subscribed now! Thank you!
I started my low buy in Nov. Fell completely off the rails in July. Back on track now. Diverted more from my paycheck to savings, so it isn't available in checking to spend. Savings up 8k since Nov 1 and making huge progress on vehicle payments. The 1 year check in should be interesting.
Excellent Q & A. You know I too am on my low buy, well I've become a no buy so far this year. It's been a heck of a year. I had to start a side hustle for me and my daughter. So I've managed to list 900 items on my posh store. I have done this alone on a small budget. I've watched Alisa since she started. 🙋🏻 be well
Hello, Cristina. I love your channel so much. 🧡🧡🧡 By the way, my mother is a pharmacist in hospital. I know how hard your job is and appreciate it so much 🧡
Awesome video! Glad o have found you and I’m super inspired! Thank you! ❤️😊😀 Going through similarities with my partner and our somewhat different ideas about sustainability and overall lifestyle! It’s great to have the support 😀💕👏🏽!
Hey Christina! Loved your video, always a pleasure to watch :) I have no problems getting rid of clothes, but I actually find it challenging to find pieces I LOVE. Are there any brands or items you recommend that are quality, low maintenance, classic? What I mean is, I'm willing to invest in staples for my wardrobe, but would love an item that will hold up in the wash, ideally be wrinkle free, would be a bonus not to deal with hand wash/dry cleaning. Any insight you have as a fashion guru is appreciated! I rarely get that "spark joy" feeling from a piece unless the fabric is soft/wrinkle free, not overly trendy so that I know it will last awhile, then obviously the general fit when I put it on.
Thank you so much! If you are looking to buy new, Tradlands are great for menswear style basics, but I admit they generally need a good steam. But durable as hell in the wash. For super soft basics like tees, I enjoy aritzia (beware of pilling on occasion) and tentree (SUPER soft, many tencel pieces), actually! I really enjoy Everlane’s blazers, footwear and jeans as well. Their tees and button downs can be a bit sheer so I generally skip everlane in that dept 🥰 two other just fave brands in general are Allegra Shaw’s uncle studios, and the fit of anine bing’s tees are just 🙌🏻 I also wish Patagonia had more “basic” basics, because their stuff is just so well made 😍 I think a lot of good basics can be found secondhand like jeans/blazers for sure, so it doesn’t always have to be expensive 🤗 Curating a wardrobe you enjoy takes time - enjoy the process!
I love that you check your budget every day - me too! I also check my bank accounts every day - and glad I do cuz I recently found a fraudulent charge on my card (that gets drawn straight from my checking account!!) and called the bank to shut down the card to get a new one and put a claim in that it was a fraudulent charge. It appears to have been used by a merchant I went to earlier that day!! 😳🙀🤯
Loved this video and getting to know you better! You really inspire me in fashion and Minimalism. Hope one day I could be as cool as you 😎 love from St. Catharines 🤗
A fellow Ukrainian-Canadian! Hello there :) I get the ethnicity question a lot and for some reason people guess that I'm Spanish or half-Japanese? (I have an olive complexion so I can kind of see Spanish but not sure where Japanese comes from...)
Madewells sale almost got me but I made it through. I've noticed that I get the same thrill from getting the things online in the cart, eventhough I don't purchase it👍 have to be careful with that though
Great thank you. Did you start the hanger trick and wear tracking your clothes yet? I have got really into decluttering (responsibly) too- feels like a weight being lifted. Good luck x
I haven’t done the hanger trick yet, but I’m tracking my wears in a spreadsheet and I think I will do the trick when I try my very first fall wardrobe switchover! I love that declutter feeling, you’re so right! ❤️
Kim-Marie Clothier I did a big declutter at the end of last year, beginning of this year and decided to do the hanger trick. 2020 was not the year to do that. 😂😂😂 I’ve been WFH since March, and have only been to work once every couple of weeks, usually for just a couple of hours. So 90% of the stuff I would wear to the office on a regular basis just hasn’t had the opportunity to be worn. This also includes evening, weekend, church clothes, etc. I was actually going through my closet the other day and laughing about how I finally decided to do this and COVID happened. 🤷♀️🤦♀️
My question; can you create a 4 season year round capsule minimal wardrobe video using only 10 items of clothes ? neutral colored only? (or one monochromatic color theme) ? OR can you direct me to one you have already produced?
@@Christinamychas That is wonderful news, looking forward to viewing it. Also, I really love your title name "Style Apotheca", as it aptly reflects your personality of being fashionable and involved in the pharmaceutical industry. I also have a long standing love of antique Apothecary jars, which, as an artist, I find are beautifully and elegantly designed.
That's why you had that cool Ukrainian mug :) So, do you speak Ukrainian or Russian then? Curious, coz I'm from former Soviet Union country and speak Russian and have been watching you for a long time; your channel grew a lot since.
I’m struggling with the idea of buying themed Halloween costumes for my family this year. On one hand I think it will be a fun memory and we haven’t spent much money on Halloween the last few years. On the other hand, it’s just one night and my son is only 4 so he doesn’t rly care yet... I’ve been spending so much time online trying to find the right costumes (I want to be ladybug, from the show Miraculous, the plan is to convince hubby to be cat noir and my son wants to be Hawk Moth, the Villain from the show)
@Eman Your weight doesn’t make you beautiful, hun! ❤️ God gave us bodies in His image and creation, and he meant for us to love and cherish them! In agnostic terms; we all have different body types, frames, height, and we carry weight differently. Don’t compare yourself to others; only approach weight loss and body image if it EMPOWERS you! Sending lots of love your way. ❤️

Yes to Less comparison!! This was such a well done Q&A my love!! Love how well spoken you are and how you put this journey into words! xo
The education and licensing for a pharmacist shows how much work it is! I love my pharmacy.
Well done! Rarely enjoy Q&A’s but yours was truly enlightening!
Awe thank you!
This Q&A was really refreshing! I love how down to earth you are and how open you are.

You’re getting a dog! 🐶 Yay!
Eeee eventually ❤️ I miss my chaika boy everyday - the love of a dog is so special 👼 🐶
So true.
Hi Christina, where can I find the video’s of the financial plan you are following? Your channel is great!
This is the first video I watched from Dave Ramsey explaining his baby steps ❤️ ua-cam.com/video/h-fcI7W-ucY/v-deo.html

Hello from Ukraine!!!🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦 It was quite a surprise to find out you are Ukrainian! When did you (or your parents?) move to Canada?
Hello from another fellow Ukrainian!
💙💛
Have you ever thought about going zero waste
I thought about it for sure - it will be a slow process for me, but we are definitely working to be more mindful of our waste
Zero waste is not practical..especially at a time like this
Love your content!
Rosee it’s challenging right now for sure - everything is covered in plastic! 😭 it’s a bummer but totally understand why
