    I'm generous with God during Adoration, prayer, and fasting from my favorite things. I know I can be more generous.

    I try to be generous with our Lord by going to Eucharistic Adoration! Looking at Him in the Monstrance, praying the rosary, reading good Catholic books, kneeling in His presence, and sitting and feeling so safe in His real presence. So peaceful, like the other things going on in the world and our country aren't happening right then. I also try to attend daily Mass as often as I can during Lent, and also pray the Family Rosary Across America with Father Rocky on Relevant Radio on my laptop every evening at 7 pm that we're home. +JMJ+

    I have listened to your wonderful Lent and Christmas videos... the Generosity Habit is an incredibly outstanding series. There are so many ways to incorporate generosity into our daily lives... than you so much for reminding us of this and of opening our eyes to new ways. A few years ago, a new tradition was started in our family. Each child and grandchild are given $$$ for the year ahead. They are told that they will know the person to whom the money should go. We keep it secret till Christmas the next year when we all share where our money went. Some of the places were: to a teacher who had just lost her husband; to a maid in a hotel; food for tornado victims in Oklahoma; to a coworker who just had a child and is struggling to pay off bills; to a foster child; to a cancer charity; to a food delivery person who sobbed when she saw the money; etc. This tradition has now spread to other families. It is amazing how you will come across the person who deserves this.
    Thank you for all you do.
    God bless.
    M

    Before Lent, the first thing I did EVERY morning after I woke up, was get my coffee and play Candy Crush. I was completely and totally addicted to this game. I knew it and God knew it. It had become an obsession with me. Playing Candy Crush did not make me a bad person, it's a harmless game, really. There's no violence, no cussing, nothing inherently bad. EXCEPT that I put it first every morning. That's when I realized that, just because something is not BAD, it doesn't make it GOOD either. One of my two challenges for Lent was to give up this Game and spend that time with God. What an enormous difference this has made in my life. He comes first now and I can't tell you how much happier and joyful I am everyday. God first, then everything else will fall into place. Thank you again Matthew for reinforcing this ❤!!

      @@susancuzelis5128 It was truly a challenge for me and I thank God that I heeded Him. I know He'd been on me about this for MONTHS so finally I said "Okay Lord, help me conquer this addiction". He did and it truly changed my life. My prayer are with you Susan!!🙏🙏🙏 You got this!!! 😃

    Sharing your talents….I was humbled when our Priest asked me to paint a painting for our church after a recent remodel. It has taken months, but it is finally finished and ready to be hung. The blessings in this event is that I started listening to the Bible on my iPad. I would start the day listening to your words, listening then to a few Bible passages, and spending time in prayer. God gave me the talent of being an artist. To be able to give this talent to my church and my God, I am in hopes that it inspires others. The picture of Juan Diego, when he sees the rose bush that our Lady of Guadalupe gave as proof that she did visit him, hopefully draws people to learn and be more active in their faith. The journey is not always easy in our lives but thankfully we have those around us, like you, to remind us of the right path to take. I have great hopes to continue my time with God. Thank you and bless you for being here for us.

    Yes. It's so easy to want everything NOW. It's a matter of trust that GOD will meet our needs when He sees it is the right time. Sometimes the only reason He makes us wait is to develop patience and trust. Other times it's because He wants us to look at something that is off in our lives. And other times still it's because other people who are part of our answer to prayer aren't ready yet. Or what we need isn't available yet. I'm experiencing that waiting thing for a long time. But I get better and better trusting GOD'S timing.

    I'm enjoying these videos so much, am so glad I decided to make them a daily part of this year's Lenten journey, and I know that their influence and effect on my life will extend beyond Lent, into the rest of my life. I am living every day more and more, in "generosity consciousness", and finding many more ways to be generous. So grateful Matthew for sharing all this with us, you really have an amazing gift for articulating things in the most perfect ways! And thank you for including your wonderful kids in these videos, what a generous thing to do!

    I live this reflection today. It is so helpful to hear the importance of being generous with our time, talents, and treasure. This is what leads us to our purpose and fulfilling it on a daily basis. It's so easy to say to someone 'pick up your cross', but some people have very heavy crosses! Being generous helps that in so many ways. Thank you for this message.

  • @SLCoolJ2K3
    @SLCoolJ2K3 2 роки тому +7

    Thank you, Matthew for another beautiful reflection. You know I think sometimes, I focus more on the gift than the giver, especially when I do not like, want, or need what was given to me. That is selfish of me, but I am aware of it, and I feel this video brought it to my attention once again. With that said, I know I must focus on the giver, most especially the Giver of Givers, God himself. We owe him nothing since he created everything, but we gotta offer everything up to him. I do my best to Thank Him everyday for providing me more than I deserve, know, understand, and remember because I know he provides things that I don't ask for and I may not be aware of it all. I know I can always offer up more to God. As I've been telling all these prayer/faith groups I have done during Covid, there is no such thing as overpraying. It is not like you go to confession and tell the priest that you prayed too much. Especially now, my schedule and priorities have changed, the world has kinda gone back to normal, but I know I must do as much prayer as I can, even if it is my leftover time. Yes, I must do more than the scraps, but it is a start and better than nothing. Pray for me as I use these videos and other daily resources to come closer to Our Lord. God Bless All of You. - Juls
