As a kid that grew up watching Keenan, to see him as an adult, and to also now be an adult....god, I'm so happy that I can still feel proud of watching him
It probably hurts him, the way you're swinging from his dick
Keenan's a kid to me 😆 Proud of him!!!
He still looks the same too
Agreed.. respect to him for being in the industry all these years, still funny and kept his integrity.
He's hardley aged. He needs to make another Keenan and Kel.
It took me way too long to realize this, but Keenan is a true legend
Agreed. His brand makes it hard to place him at that status, but when you look at the resume, he is 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s Famous.
Wild thinking that as young as we feel he is, he’s a 40 year veteran 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Kenan showed more courage than a lot of them tough guys that been on Tyson show
But its ok to encourage men wearin dress
@albertdaley9093 that aint git shyt to do with this bruh but nice reach
But Kenan don’t got the courage to quit snl
@@TOPSyndicate nah you ok with emasculatin a man but wonder why you ah goofy 🤡🤡🤡🤡 yall zesty baskets blows mines nigga is expression we use gfoh

Keenan is such a chill dude, and one of the most grounded individuals in the comedy world.
Mad respect for Neal who can hang out with anyone and makes everyone feel at ease.
I had his back until his racist rant and disgusting sexual desires with young kids.
He hates conservative black folk, calling them racial slurs which confuses me, how can a Democrat call a black conservative a n*gger and not consider that racist?
Then seeing how he groomed his girlfriends when they were 13 and 15. Disgusting.
I've been a fan of his his whole career and yet I still gained respect for him over this.
I had that conversation with my daughter. She said the N word at work in the breakroom and a black older man told HR. I told her "you do not know his struggle. That word isn't a word we all love." I wish we held people accountable with that word.
What made her think it was ok for so long??
The Trevor Berbick comment had me laughing. 😂
The thought of mike having a bad trip looking at Keenan 💭
Kenan is the glue that holds the modern SNL together and he is fantastic at it. I always love the little looks he gives to people when things go slightly wrong on live TV like when Samuel L Jackson dropped the F bomb on the What's Up With That skit. Great interview and so awesome to see this side of Kenan.
I hope he gets the show after Lorne, but I doubt that I’ll get to live in that reality.
He was great on "All That" , makes sense he would just get better in his craft 👍
@@dustinhotard9634listen. Never say never!
Tyson seems like a guy that would test you on occasion. Just to see how you react.
Kenan showed superb strength of character. It was amazing and tense to watch. On that day Kenan was just as strong as Mike Tyson.
Until he gets punched...
@@HealthHorror But he didn't. And thats the point. He wasn't afraid of the hit if it was going to come.
@@HealthHorrorna mike is an actual intellectual he respects Keenan’s mind he just had an opposing viewpoint and expressed it he was never even close to swinging

Im glad him and Kel are working together again on something. I cant wait for Good Burger 2 😎
Good for Keenan. I agree with him too. We're keeping that word alive ourselves.
As someone with no absolutely no currency to weigh in on the word when it is used by Black folks, I must admit that I cringe every time I hear it. I get the difference, so I keep my trap shut, but it just sets my teeth on edge coming out of anyone's mouth.
Why shouldn't we keep the word alive?
@@kernalbert4939 Because we're so appalled by it's use.

Me hearing the host continually cutting Kenan off:
" damn it. Let this nigga talk"😂
I was probably a generation too early for Good Burger, never got into it... But Kenan has become a living comedic legend in his own right.
Pretty full career
Never seen heavyweights or the mighty ducks 2
The Good Burger movie still holds up today, and they even officially announced a sequel was in the works.
I watched this podcast and that conversation really stood out. side note, Kenan really does have the cutest kids. This was a great follow up conversation..
I never saw the shows Kenan started on, but goddamn he's fantastic on SNL. It's not surprising that he's been in the business this long, considering how straightforward, no-bullshit, professional he is.
There is an All That skit with Kenan playing a chef that adds chocolate to everything and the legendary Chris Farley playing a chef that adds ketchup to everything, and it's absolutely hilarious.
Keenan do you think 7 year olds watch “hot boxing with Mike”? I respect you for standing up for your beliefs.
7 year olds have the same UA-cam as everyone else. It might not be meant for them, but they have access to it. But also at that point, it’s on the parents to regulate
@@slimthugga1 I’m not for any regulation but like I said I respect Keenan for being true to his beliefs.
I watched it and I can say that you were correct, I like Mike, but in that setting he was 100% wrong. And I loved how you tried to bring him up. He just wasn't having it. Sad!!
Yo neal let your guests speak rather than cutting them off saying “I know”. Love you love your comedy and keenan too
I love him for talking about not using the word and rising above it
He was a cool interview. I liked hearing his perspective.
Was looking at the clip he was talking about with Mike.
It’s a hard conversation because it’s about reclamation/empowerment for one side vs a negative impact on an entire community.
Kenan is also from a different region of the States. South vs North.
An entire group will never agree on anything this controversial. It’s why I subscribe to rugged individualism.
@@VoteForBukele Smart move.
I honestly just let people do whatever. No point in arguing, free speech exists and I’m not going to tell a grown adult what to say.
That said, I wish “bad words” were never used but that’s not realistic or fair.
The notion that using that word does anything but harm was programmed into your culture to make you oppress yourself.
Keenan is correct.
I don’t think of you as that. But you using that word reaffirms your belief that I do.
@@tonymarselle8812 Valid point, I try not to use it because yea it does have a psychological effect.
I don’t think about it often. I have been known to call dumb people of all races the word with a hard R for the express purpose of making them angry. I think the average white American would be shocked to realize that they fit the word more than American blacks. Hell, I was in a bar in the midwestern us in 2017 and had a blast informing the white guys that they had unwittingly elected the first n-word president. Trump is the definition of the word. The man had 3 baby mamas, drug addicted sons, loved gold and shiny objects, has bad credit, always in court… all he needs is a Kanye produced hit song, and get shot once, and he’s at Boosie’s level. They were hurt, but they laughed. And we drank more beer.
Honestly, this is the most intently listened to anything Keenan has said. I should probably pay closer attention.
Kenan Thompson is impressive. Love it and how he has navigated the industry and grown up.
I never say it. I used to say it but my dad is from Mississippi and was born in 1962. His dad used to have dementia and would think the Klan was trying to lynch him. But for me I stopped using just because I didn't feel right using it it's a big eifference if u say it with anER on the end.
Omg... Let him finish the story without an interruption.
God I really like Kenan Thompson.
I appreciate Keenan approaching the topic. Lots of people are intimidated
I'm not,in the navy and while in the army,I often called people out on their BS and cats in the military don't like it. LOL. Me and my first platoon sgt got into a fist-fight just because we didn't like each other. LOL. And I got the best of him.I was an E-4 and my platoon sgt was an E-6,so now he's not the ALPHA male of our platoon any more,I AM. LOL. So,one of us had to go and it was me.I was transfered to another division on the other side of the base.
Much respect Keenan
Love Keenan and Mike.
I've seen some of the so called toughest of guys fold instantly whenever Mike has challenged them, so props to Kenan!
Kenan's a cool cat 😎, very down to earth
S/o to all the 80s/ 90s kids
Kenan a certified real one! ✅📠💪🏽
To all his own😏
Kenan earned more respect from me on that pod than any man who threw a punch.
More than Muhammad Ali? He threw punches, you know.
Keenan was so dope for taking that Stand. He was a voice of opposition to somebody that everybody wants to agree with, especially when he’s right in front of you. This should’ve been talked about more in the media but it had some positivity to it so no. To bad he had to speak to Neal about this and not something like the breakfast club.
There are lots of folks not afraid of Iron-Mike,believe it or not. LOL. Especially now in some states folks are concealed carrying and wouldn't think twice about plugging Mike full of holes. This isn't the 90s,people are shooting/killing folks left and right for stupid things.
Respect to Keenan for standin’ his ground. PLENTY of folk sat in that seat while Mike is sayin’ some crazy ish and just took it because he’s Mike… ✊🏾
There's no difference between calling yourself a Nigga and calling yourself black both words come from a negative place and neither word describes us so the conversation is actually bigger than he was making it
Keenan CooL!! I think he need to get back around his ppl!! Get out to A Jay z brunch!! DJ Khaled had A Celebrity Golf Tournament be around the culture!! I’m with Mike Tyson on this one 💯%
Ever since I heard Lee Scratch Perry introduced me to the Ethiopian word neegus which means king. It made me think how similar it is to the other N word and how maybe people got it wrong along the way. Anyway still can own the word like a king.
A 🥷 intervention 😂😂😂 I done heard it all now
To quote The GOAT Richard Pryor "I will never call another black man nigga again. That is a word to describe our own retchedness. We are strong people." The gross legacy of racial hatred may not seem like a day to day reality for white Americans (and I say this as a lifelong Republican) but it is a stain on the dignity of our fellow Americans who suffered under it. Mike is a force of nature, can beat the life out of most people, but he is a HUMAN BEING, and to me there is nothing lower than attacking someone's dignity, because it's the hardest thing to defend against. I would attack someone for WHO they are, never for WHAT they are, cause they didn't choose that, and that's real dirty fighting. Proud of Keenan for standing up for his beliefs.
Yea, Pryor must have been high as hell when he said that cause he said that shit all the time. Even named one of his albums! Lol
Guess what happens when people decide to ONLY laugh at a word instead of "adopting it as their own"
..
Wow. Never watched a "serious" Kenan Thompson. Just his published stuff, all humor.
Dude is a thinker and also represents that. Admirable.
Also, on the "N" word: If those in the "Culture" say it to make it their own and take it's "Power" away.... Then how is it still hurtful if used by others?
To an outsider is still looks hurtful BUT Now the people that are hurt by it are using it, as well and doing so against each other. I guess I just don't understand it, fully.
I 100% gave Neal a pass when he dropped the bomb. Dude was being hilarious! 😂
Keenan ain’t no punk..he stood up to mike like a man
You 💯 used your opinion to try to enforce judgement on him by correcting him he should have cauliflowered them 👂 ear's 👂.
That would be a funny fuckn skit… Mike start seeing a jerry curl on Keenan
We grow up. I use the word rarely nowadays.
Nah i respectfully disagree when we as black people use the word it’s not the same word as the slur similar to when the progressive world refers to Jewish ppl we say Jewish but when Jewish ppl refer to other Jewish ppl they sometimes lose the ish but it’s not the same as the slur to them imo
You sound young so I'm not going to try to change your mind. I just want you to give this some thought. Of the hundreds of thousands of black people that were lynched, raped, burned, beaten and whipped to death as they took their last excruciating pain filled breath and left this life that was the last word most of them heard.
@@dblshotz75 I'm fully aware do you know how many words in this language have multiple meanings? And why go this hard about a word when as a whole we can't agree it's wrong cops are still carrying on that same tradition? are you aware how many black ppl grew up and for most of their lives that word never had the hate behind it... keenan just passed by the fact neil said it in a joke but checks mike do know crazy that sounds? checking our own ppl about that word isnt necessary again imo
@@willholmesjr.7356respectfully disagree. I personally feel more insulted to hear it from a Black person than any one else. It's a word that's used to describe us as less than a man. I refuse to be looked at or called anything less than a man. There's nothing endearing about that. Even in the context Mike used it in, he was describing himself as less than. I mean would u let someone call ur mother the B word if they said it with no "hate"? Like if your boy said, Ur mom? That B can cook! Is that ok just because there's no hate to it?
We're losing focus on the real problems we face in this country if we're policing what words are acceptable or not within our own race culture and community smh
@@willholmesjr.7356 again I disagree. If we are referring to ourselves in a negative context & promoting the negative stereotypes, we are helping push the racist agenda.. This is part of the problem and why we're our own worst enemy. We're keeping the word alive and they use it against us. You constantly here people say why can't we say it? They say it all the time? And our only response is "because it's different". No other race or marginalized group does this but us. We even laugh at people that want to be educated or speak proper English for not being a "real N". If you can't see how the word is problematic and helps to contribute to our "real problems" then I don't know what to tell you.
Keenan has become a mf'n LEGEND!
When a word is used it stays around. Let it go and it'll fade away.
Mike is 57 (56 at time of this video). I understand what Mike said and understand Keenan's perspective. Both are right and I am pondering on it's use too.
Kenan is so cool
without the violence.
"fight"? 🤔🤔 Was a conversation.
Salute to Keenan
All I can see is Neal’s haircut 😅
Tyson is a grown child. The shrooms and all the other shit are clearly not doing him any favors, it’s just reinforcing that he’s a child.
Hey, don’t have the Colorado Rockies. We didn’t have a major league baseball team when I was growing up in Denver!
Also, Chris rock rocks and soda you two. Really digging the podcast so far
He stood his ground on the N word but doesn’t see any problem using the P word, one very derogatory term toward women. That’s his prerogative. I just disagree
🤣
Yep
Never heard the term used on a woman or in reference to a woman nor have you tf are you talking about it's not a thing I hope you're not saying it's an insult just based on it being slang for a female reproduction organ so therefore derogatory seems you would've said the same thing as long as some slight was there for you insert into it
Alternate title:" Neal Brennan interviews Kenan Thompson's ghost"
The word come from the word Negus which means King .. The word existed way before Europeans spoke it .. plus the Niger river and the country Nigeria exists..

You disrespected trying to talk down to him. He's tha Champ you just a SNL writer
And Mike still gone feel the way he feels about it so it really proved no point trying to convince him. He been thr waaaayyyyy more than you me and soo many more. As a 55 year old Black man, I'm "Team Kenan" on this one. I LOVE Mike Tyson, & he's showed such tremendous growth these last 5 or 6 years. Having said THAT, his intense defense of using the "n" word, is one of the things that kind of negates that progress. Still love Mike, but we're gonna have to "agree to disagree" on that shit. I never even knew about this argument, until today.
It's not a argument watch the Tyson show. Kenan was just to uptight that's all. I agree the word should not be used, but at same time Tyson been threw shit keanan can only dream of so to try and take moral high ground with a guy like Mike isn't so smart and is actually testing the guy.
Mike has been punched in the head a bunch... So, he's probably dealing with CTE
Plus years of cocaine abuse.

Can't knock Kenan for what him and other like him are trying to do. But its a futile effort and I hate hangups on words. Word are just as powerless as they are powerful. If u feel like N-word is too strong of a word to u then so be it but dont tell another grown man how to speak.
Kenan isnt a comedian, no word is off-limits for a real comic. Ultimately using the N-word is not the root of our problem not even a part of it, just a scapegoat issue.

Keenan doesn’t live in the real world and he already knew mike was gonna use the n word so it all seem on purpose
Judge not ,Mr keanan ,it was your Hollywood smugness that got mike hype
I don't have a problem with people using versions of Nwords as long as they know what it means and use it in the correct context.
Nwords are people who originated on the island of Coromandel "New Zealand" and are the oldest living humans on this planet.
Surprise!
They used Australia as the very first Native Reservation for their people called today Australian Aboriginals "Austral-Nwords".
Then their is N1gg@ which is a term for Coastal Nwords.
Today you say Mermeen "Mermaids" or you can say Nikker(jte).
When using those two words properly shouldn't be a problem but for those who misuse the word you should ignore them in whole because today Amerikans of colour are civilized and that's why they are called Blacks instead of Nwords.
Gotdamn this convo is S L O W 😴😴😴
By the way, what's the deal with Kenan and SNL? Why has he been on it so long?

I've known several black people who dont like or use the N-word. Its depressing how whites IRL are non-supportive of black people who dont use this word and will go as far as to argue with them on why everyone else should say it... yet, they are praising Kenan in the comments for not using the word. Its funny how we dont value the black guy we see everyday who do not use the word, means well and greets us with a smile. Its almost as if black people have to be celebrities first before white people will appreciate them. I'm white and i've seen this from coast to coast here in the U.S. You're damned if you do and you're damned if you dont if you're black in America. No other culture in America has it this bad.

Y'all aren't seeing the big picture. Mike was sentenced to prison for grape and everyone in earth knew he was innocent. Now he's a national treasure. That's how you know that everyone knew he was innocent. Nobody bounces back from that in the hearts of the people. C'mon now. It was like, just take it Mike. At that same time, on the same day I think, a Kennedy was found not guilty of a grape trial that he was clearly guilty of. Then his plane crashed.
Even Ali told Farrakhan, "I'm still a (N). No matter how many titles you win, no matter what you go through, the world reminds you that they see you as one. Even if you become president. Kenan's podcast is lousy for a host of reasons. This is the most interesting thing that's happened.
🫡Kenan
Kenan is a comedian not a wise person.
I am with Tyson. He work for SNL that is antiblack propaganda show
Someone needs to explain to me the fascination with Mike Tyson. I’m in my 40s, hardcore boxing fan and have seen just about all his fights. But beyond boxing, I fail to see what is Mike’s contribution to society, even as an entertainer. People go on his podcast to kiss his ass and basically end up interviewing him instead of the other way around. Sometimes says something semi profound, but the rest of the time he’s just there. He was not a role model when he was young and he’s still not a role model now. Why the Tyson worship? Props to Keenan for standing his ground.
Tyson is the perfect example of character building. Literally the rise, fall, and rise again story. Overcame a lot of adversity.
The fascination comes from how he became one of the best. Then lost everything and turned into a monster. He then grew older and matured into a man. He lost a child and is still going with a positive outlook.
You can watch his one man show “The Undisputed Truth” to get an idea. I don’t think the praise comes from oh he says things smart sometimes, it’s more about his growth as a man.
