I would compare this fan animation to sonic project 06 Where that was done by actual sonic fans who are actually fixing the original sonic 06 game And not only that though they fixed a lot of the problems with its gameplay in the original releaso that's how I would compare it to.
I have played both sonic colors and it's remaster.And as a die hard sonic the hedgehog fan I will tell you. The remaster of sonic colors is a disaster because of the fact that it was released unfinished broken glitchy. The lighting was way too bright and you could tell that they really did. Rush it at the door and once even worst That the switch version. Had a lot of glitches that were seizure inducing but i'm glad they did patch that out but it did show that it is not good to rush a game out the door And I really do hope sonic x shadow generations will Be even better than colors ultimate.We'll just have to wait and see.
