My ex and I went to a religious 'relationship counselor'... and at the break, we discussed how the guy was a quack because it was all about 'the man should change, the woman should lead him through this change'. Even though, we decided to hear him out and went back in, after the break. As we sat down, a guy in the back called him out with "All you are saying is to do what your wife wants and all will be fine (happy wife - happy life)". Then, all the guys agreed and the guy lost control of his program. This was in the '90s.

I was a Christian for 12 years; really appreciate the episode. Look forward to reading Rollo's new book. I was disillusioned after seeing many young couples getting married, and having kids+getting divorced within the 1st year of marriage. Still in touch with someone who's unhappily married to her husband that provides a good living. Her unhappiness is the fault of his character flaws, apparently. Cheers

From a Christian marriage standpoint, it’s the idea of a man and wife becoming one. Tearing that apart is damaging to those involved and there’s connections between two sexual partners of that nature that don’t always go away. Rollo even hits on this subject when he discusses in his books and elsewhere how the higher a notch count a woman has the less capable she is to commit to one man later. It’s almost as if those who wrote scripture had a better understanding of the nature of women than most men do today.

Only 14 minutes in and Rollo has completely validated my observations with regard to the current Church environment, alleged "church girls", dating in general, etc. Full disclaimer, I'm pretty Beta when it comes / came to dealing with women. Not deflecting my own faults, just putting it out there, because for the longest time I didn't quite understand how socialization with the opposite sex worked and made pretty bad assumptions. I did have a steady girlfriend for about 5 months before I could tell definitively that it was not going to work out, plus as beta as I was, I got sick and tired of the random shit tests and dumped her. I hated doing it because I always thought that getting rejected sucked, but being the rejector felt even worse. From that point on, I thought that there was something wrong on my part (which is probably still a valid self-observation), but then I found the Red Pill a few years later and things made a LOT more sense, putting into words what I had only begun to suspect.

    • @yushaumeri6292
      @yushaumeri6292 2 роки тому +4

I completely agree with you bro. The reason why you felt bad is because you have a kind heart, you never wanted to dump her but you knew deep down inside that it wasn't working out. My ex is exactly like the girl who you were with but she dumped me, and for so many months I wasn't able to let go because of how much she emotionally manipulated me and hooked me in.

25:00 I think one major reason why premarital sex is prohibited in many religions is to insure children are born into a committed marriage relationship. Until relatively recently,
contraception was very limited to prevent out-of-wedlock births. Fathers wanting to insure
their own paternity is no doubt a cultural factor too, as you said. Until recent DNA testing,
there was always the possibility that an adulterous wife could birth a child that is not the husband's.

    • @zuhasbekillin3461
      @zuhasbekillin3461 3 місяці тому

In islam thats pretty much the reason to ensure paternity even during divorce the woman cant marry another man for 3 months to ensure the last husbands paternity but incase of adultery its much harder as they had no dna testing and a husband had more chance to impregnate her than the afair partner she sees once a week.
But if the husband was to catch his wife cheating he could do something called liaan and disown his children even though there might have been a chance its his own children kinda crazy how men
Back in those times literally disowned children just on 50/50 probability and nowadays the child could come out black and the husband would still be forced to take care of it

Hi Rich and Rollo! Great meeting and cool to see you both talking about this stuff. From my experience, guys I have met who are connected somehow to religion, I can say, that are not so beta in comparison to guys spotted in public, draining themselves out in the hell of a c*hold. In the matter of fact, these church guys have the alpha mindset (as we all know, it is only matter of circumstances where beta behavior can occur, as all men make mistakes and from mistakes they rise. Even bringing simple psychology - behavior is made from experience) - because they are not bound to materialistic things, lust, but the faith, which corresponds to the mindset of TRP - because of the focus - on self-improvement, be close of the natural relationship dynamics with self and surroundings, where man is a man and woman is a woman, but I agree - nowadays even religions have that feeling of "something is not right", bringing in "new social norms", but even the Bible says - Woman was formed from the limb of man. Period.
Additionally, Rollo mentioned polarities. I am self-studying and practicing already for 2 years eastern astrology and I can say that polarities really attract, but as always, complimenting each others values and "the interest" is as important.

I come from a patriarchal conservatives religious community in America. For example, women quietly stand in the back of church. When a man visits his fiancée he bows to her from the waist and she bows to him to the floor. I am 29 years old. Couples of my parents generation and older never divorced no matter what. In extreme situations a couple would separate but not divorce or date anyone else. People in my generation and younger have had several divorces. Our divorce rates are a lot lower than the American average, but are on the way up.

What I have noticed in my church is that men get ridden pretty hard about their role in the marriage, but women do not get equal time. It is talked about but it's very different. I came across this channel a few days ago and have only seen a hand full of videos but I've found it to be very insightful into the behavior and physiology of women though the bit about hypergamy is super depressing and dare I say soul crushing. But I was never going to go after these types of women anyway I just thought it was interesting. The videos also affirmed a lot of my own behaviors too. In highschool I fell hard for one of my classmates and discovered what love was for the 1st time but I made a lot of mistakes. I was too jealous, gave the cold shoulder too often and attempted to rush things because I was the straight forward type of person that didn't play any games or beat around the bush. I tried to make things right by explaining my poor behavior and apologizing but she shut the door on me and it's never opened again. I let the love of my life slip through my fingers. I was Pentecostal and she was Catholic, the bible says not to marry a non believer 2 Corinthians 6:14 but I figured a Catholic was close enough though I was wrong. She led a secular life, loved to party drink get drunk, she swore a lot and didn't have a problem with premarital sex, I overlooked it because I placed her on pedestal, I didn't do any of those things. She eventually hooked up with a smooth talking bad boy type who was much taller than me and older than her by like 5 or 6 years I think. I was heart broken and fell into depression for like 7 years.
I came out of it by putting value on myself and remembering the dreams I had placed on the shelf and things I wanted to do. Prayer also gave me peace of mind. But I was angry still so I said I'm just going to work on myself, get cut and slim and pursue my dreams by starting that business I had wanted to start. I decided to make a point of acquiring a younger practicing conservative christian woman no kids because that would just complicate things and no tats. I'm making sure that this time she's practicing Christian because everyone in Conservative Christianity is taught to rely on God to be their source and their provider Matthew 6:25-34 it doesn't mean that people shouldn't work it just means men and women should not become dependent on each other for money. They're also taught to not love money. It's ok to pursue a high paying career or start a big business but it can never get in the way of going to church or serving in the church or giving to the church the tithe, offering and alms because giving counters greed. A giving person can never justifiably be accused of being greedy. This increases the probability of a love marriage and not a financial security marriage. It's still not a guarantee because not everybody is a practicing Christian and are able to fool people with some great acting and lip service, so I'll have a prenup ready just in case.
That's also another thing, Love, I haven't heard that be talked about in any of the vidoes I've seen or maybe I just haven't come across it yet. Love is important to me I have a lot to give and I want it in return too. Some may see it as weakness or maybe beta male qualities I don't know but it's one of the things that gives me my confidence and one of my motivations to be physically fit because I need to be able to defend my family against scoundrels, I can turn my cheek but I can't turn my families cheek that's rubbish nonsense. I live in California it's the freakin wild west over here with all the shoot outs. It also motivates me to earn so I can give the children I'd like to have a good life, I'm not trying to be that bum dad. But 1st I have to take care of myself, I can't take care of my family unless I first know how to take care of me, I wouldn't have wisdom to pass down to my would be kids otherwise.

Here's a hypothesis I need to investigate further: in the Church, gender differences/roles are lauded in speech, but not in practice. In practice, “gender roles'' simply refers to how a man and a woman each “feel” about a certain situation, which is reducing masculinity to the terms used to describe and delineate feminine qualities: “feelings."

@lati long I think you're barking up the wrong tree @lati long. Religion is a man-made tool to control EVERYONE in a particular society. For a Society to succeed it has to control a mans natural inclinations so they guarantee each man access to a woman who will have his offspring and that in turn also fulfills her inclinations to propagate the species and have babies which also in the process keeps the society going. The only problem is it hasn't taken into a woman's natural hypergamy which will come out when she perceives there is a better male for her to mate with. The funny thing is that as men start to pull away even more from marriage and LTR's for whatever reason the pool of men keeps on shrinking which is making more and more women desperate. The women don't realise or refuse to acknowledge that their own hypergamy and feminisation of society is what's caused this or is now making it worse. It's become Self-fulfilling Prophecy.

Just my take on this…What a great topic - grew up in the church - married within the church because it was the right thing to do. (Obviously it didn’t last) In those days men and women went to church to find the ‘one’ the man of G-d… many girls got married very quickly because of sex and then got divorced because they never really knew each other at all. You were not allowed to look outside the church so the choice was very beta… many have stayed in abusive and sexless marriages all because it’s under G-d … if your man is not chasing excellence which the bible talks about in the book of Daniel - that everything is done with a spirit of excellence then don’t even pursue it. Unfortunately the pulpit kept preaching the illusion of what marriage is and it was painted with rose coloured glasses of the knight in shining armour will rescue your from all your problems. And waiting forever for the perfect man which we know does not exist.

Appreciate that Rollo has has done a lot of research. My criticism is the same for this discussion as with much of what it's discussed in the manosphere. Everything is so simplified and reductionist. Christianity is about so much more than marrying and raising a family although that's a critical part of God's plan for how man and woman should live together. They're so much more about dozens of other issues and relationships that have nothing to do with sex or marriage. Including relationship to the government relationship to one another relationship to your parents relationship to your fellow man. And most importantly our relationship to God and the pre-eminence of his design and plan for our life. I think it's important that listeners and readers of the comments understand this is a very simplistic and reductionist view of religion and especially Christianity

Men's sperm quality starts to significantly decrease at 50, but there is no maximum age that stops a man from being able to father a child. God isn’t real as far as we can tell. Humans have had plenty of time to prove the existence of some higher power yet there is no strong evidence. There’s no such thing as an infalible perfect book and certainly no strong evidence the supernatural is even possible. People need to be honest with themselves. Now if someone can prove it definitively, then fine, but until then God, gods, ghosts, the devil, demons, heaven, hell, afterlife, and so on were very likely made up by humans. What’s so surprising about this? Humans are really good storytellers, that’s for sure, and humans have come up with various religious stories as well.

What we should absolutely discount as “likely false” is anything that relates to the supernatural such as talking animals, turning water into wine, levitating in the air, resurrecting the dead, parting the sea, etc. So in other words, there probably was a human Jesus, but no way can you prove there was a supernatural Jesus or supernatural anything. Prove that the supernatural is possible first. You know you can’t. Nobody can as far as we’re concerned.

By the way, in Islam, women can actually divorce their husbands via the Sharia court on the accusation of the husband not performing all the daily prayers or missing fasts in Ramadan. He can even be accused of devil worship. Also, these women tend to have very large and protective families which makes the husband trying to visit his kids, especially if they are young, will be quite difficult, to say the least. In short, it never was as rosy in Islam even before feminism. Muslim men, in Muslim or Muslim majority counties don’t usually talk about this kind (embarrassing) stuff with other men.

    • @abufuturetrunks5630

It's not as easy as you think Graham. In islam, a man has the right to divorce his wife anytime, he holds the key to divorce. A woman does not. She cannot divorce her husband unless he accepts the divorce or in EXTREME cases she goes to the courts to prove he has fallen short on his rights, such as prayer, physical abuse etc. These are extreme cases. In short, in islam a woman dosnt have the right to suddenly get a divorce for no reason.
And even in the extreme case she gets a divorce (its called a khula in islam) she must give back the DOWRY her husband once gave her. So she is the one that loses money. Nothing else.
Also, if a woman stops her ex husband from seeing the children, this is impermissible in Islam and she will be sinning & if taken to Islamic courts most often than not it gets sorted out.
I hope that clears your misconception, if you have any other questions I'm glad to discuss. Thanks!

@@abufuturetrunks5630 The reality is, with perhaps the exception of places like rural Afghanistan and Pakistan, the wife can simply walk out of the husband’s house (with the kids) and she will have the protection of an army of relatives. The cops or religious police are not going to drag her back kicking and screaming. That never happens. At best, he will be told to “pray” that she comes back to him. If she doesn’t come back in four years, just about any Sharia court will automatically grant the divorce and make him pay child support too (including for previous ‘missed’ years, in many cases). And he may STILL not get to see his kids or have to go through a bunch of her unruly relatives each time. The cops won’t help the man and the Sharia courts won’t either, even after years of ‘he said she said’ trials about visitation. He will be alone and she will have ten relatives all willing to lie and even die for her. Never mind the brainwashing of the kids. In short, it’s really not all that much better these days for Muslims.

@@grahamashe9715 you're giving a very specific circumstance in which rarely ever happens. The woman cannot go up and leave islamically and take the kids for no reason. In a sharia country this is swiftly sorted. She may get away with it in the west but NEVER in a muslim country. That in of itself is totally haram (not allowed). You mention she'll have a bunch of relatives defending her. You'd be suprised how often men and practising Muslims in general give precedence to the religon compared to whims and desires. If a woman takes the kids and leaves and alienates the father she will be punished, either in the courts or On judgement day. This is a big sin. You've also forgotten a man will have this family too. I will say this rarely ever happens in muslim countries. I agree that it has happend a few times in the west, I am from the UK and I've heard many stories like this. Nevertheless, Islam gives a solution for that. Its just about whether people implement it or not. If she wants a divorce she can get it. Nobody wants to keep a woman that dosnt want to be there. He pays alimony and that's it. In the west a father won't be stopped to seeing his kids without solid proof. So she can run away all she wants with the kids, he'll still get visitstion

You know quite an enormous amount about cars, finance, and women. However, your knowledge of Christianity is lacking in accuracy. Going by a denomination does not give a precise description of Christianity. All denominations of Christianity are man made, therefore flawed. Christianity at its core is vastly different from Catholicism. Which is where most people get their information on Christianity because they do not know the differences between them. This is known as the liberal view of Christianity, or Hollywood Christianity. Of course if one was too study, not just read, the Bible they would know their facts. If your going to try and blame religion, I recommend studying the religion.

I mean this sincerely... but why can't more people be leaving church because there has never been good evidence that a god exists? Maybe that's why ppl are walking away from religion, makes sense to me. Also, God should never make it into intersexual dynamics in the first place. Men that say "I'm waiting for God to bring me a good woman" Or new Christian women that say "now im done partying and I want to get right with god." These are completely invalid because there is no evidence that a God exists in the first place. Men and women don't just get to insert god... there needs to be evidence for a god first before said god can be a position in intersexual dynamics. They don't just get to skip that step of providing evidence.

What y'all may not know is that knowledgeable Muslims aren't surprised in the least bit by the spread of gynocentric orders, feminist distortions and emasculation. We have explicit Prophetic ﷺ prophecies mentioning that in the end times there will be:
    1. Movements to corrupt women,
    2. Men and women imitating each other,
    3. Women who are covered and yet naked who lean towards evil and cause their husbands to lean towards evil (emasculated males),
    4. That men will have to physically restrain their womenfolk when the anti-Christ emerges and reaches the outskirts of Medina, because the women will flock to him.
So, we don't expect this stuff to slow down. We see it all as signs of the end times and yet we know what we must do in it's face.
And, we also believe we will ultimately overcome it.
This drives the psychology of most religious Muslim men.
As you can see in areas of the world where entire superpowers have been resisted for decades, orthodox Muslims are much more committed to our beliefs than most others.
